A worthwhile excursion

Chidi_E, Oct 2024
Got to see pretty much everything I expected to apart from the predators, but we had been warned they were more active later on. Particularly enjoyed the boat trip, you get swarmed at times by flies in the jeep and the ride can get very bumpy. Overall a worthwhile excursion.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the boat trip and had a chance to see much of what you expected. We appreciate your understanding about the predators' activity levels and hope you’ll consider joining us again for another adventure—maybe next time you'll spot them! Safe travels, and thank you for sharing your experience! Kindly recommend us to your family and friends. Safe travels, and thank you for sharing your thoughts! Ronald

Good but could be better.

Matthew_M, Oct 2024
Border crossings were easy. River cruise portion, though it was hot, allowed the close up viewing of many different animals. Lunch was good, with a nice variety. The land portion allowed viewing of elephants and lions, but it appeared as the driver was just going the motions.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the border crossings, the river cruise, and the variety of lunch options. We appreciate your comments about the land portion and will address the driver’s engagement to ensure a more enriching experience in the future. Your insights help us improve, and we hope to welcome you back on another adventure Regards Ronald

Amazing safari experience

Leonardo_B, Aug 2024
Impeccable organization, the pickup was on time from the Avani Livingstone and it took us almost an hour to get to the Botswana border. The drive was very comfortable. Crossing at the border was fast, but if you have young children or teens with you, the Botswana authorities are strict and require that you bring a birth certificate, plus if you are a solo parent traveling you also have to have written official parental consent from the other parent, saying your child can enter and exit Botswana!!! They can be very sticky and deny you access, so be prepared. The game drive in the Chobe natural park was amazing, and even though we hadn’t seen many animals in the first hour (probably due to the dry season), we were lucky enough to get really close and see a full pride of Lions ( about 12) feasting on a baby elephant. After the morning game drive we had lunch at the Cresta Mowana lodge, with a big buffet and excellent very varied buffet food. They have a beautiful curio shop with gorgeous Botswana artifacts at decent prices. From there we started the afternoon cruise on the Chobe river where we saw loads of elephants, crocodiles, baboons and also hippos, eagles. The drive back to the Avani was also really comfortable and the whole experience lasted for about 11 hours. This safari is very well worth it even if it seems expensive. Ps. Cherish travel and tours (the company we booked with) is a truly reliable company, with whom we booked so many activities and transports, including from and to the airport, all of which were well organized and always perfectly in time!!

We never made it to Chobe :(

Walter_S, Aug 2024
This should have been a wonderful trip because I hear that Chobe is fantastic. We didn't get past the Botswana border though because I did not have a copy of my daughter's birth certificate. This was in the instructions and I should have been more prepared, but the driver knew this when he picked us up and should have left us at the hotel or given us a few minutes to try and deal with the situation (while we still had Wi-Fi) instead of taking us all the way to the border and wasting our morning. We did receive a partial refund from the tour operator.

Response from Host, Aug 2024

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations due to the border crossing issue. I understand how frustrating it must have been to be turned away at the border, especially when you were looking forward to your trip to Chobe. You’re right that having all necessary documents is crucial for international travel, and I regret that this caused such a significant inconvenience. I appreciate you mentioning that the driver was aware of the situation and could have taken a different approach to mitigate the issue. I’ll ensure this feedback is shared with the team so that we can improve our procedures in similar situations. We are pleased to inform you that a partial refund was successfully processed after due procedure. We value your feedback as it helps us enhance our services and better support our travelers. If there’s anything more we can do to make up for this experience or if you have any additional comments, please feel free to reach out directly. Thank you again for your understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a smoother and more enjoyable experience in the future.

Lovely park but pick a different tour operator.

Richard_H, May 2024
The park was wonderful. The boat tour was fun. The boat was slow and crowded but the captain did his best to find and show wildlife. The driving tour was disappointing. Billed as 3 hours the driver said the time to and from the border counted as part of the three hours. He didn't act as a guide, he only drove. We expected some discussion about the park and the animals and got nothing. He seemed annoyed to be with us.

So many animals!

Meghan_G, Apr 2024
The ability to see so many animals and get close was incredible. The logistics were very smooth and the staff was friendly and super helpful. No issues at all! Pack sunscreen!

Highly recommend

Nelisa_T, Apr 2024
Well-organised trip and seamless transition between Zambia and Botswana. Enjoyable safari for both the game drive and river safari.

Excellent

Haonan_Z, Mar 2024
Very good trip, saw most of the animals except leopards. The water safari is also unique. Lunch was also impressive, with lots of choice and high quality.

We were very disappointed with the organisation for this tour. The animals were good and the initial driver was pleasant

ElizabethP_B, Mar 2024
The driver picked us up as planned and was very pleasant. At the border, we changed vehicle and driver.- she took us to Chobe where we waited 50 minutes for the safari vehicle belonging to another company. When it did arrive, there were 8 of us in a 9 seater vehicle. We were told where to sit and it wasn’t together. Someone did move so we could sit together. The driver did his best to show us animals in a hurried safari. Lunch was good but again hurried. We were then passed to another company and different party for the boat ride. We were told that the lady who drove us to the National Park would pick us up after the boat ride. The boat ride went well but on our return, we were told to get into the vehicle with the people we had the boat ride with — they were going to a different border, which was concerning. We did meet the lady at a lay-by and changed vehicle. She handed us back to the original driver at the border

Response from Host, Mar 2024

Dear our respective client. Thank you so much for the review of your safari we wish regret that we didn't met your expectations. To address some of the concerns raised, Chobe Safari Day is the group tour even when you book you need to understand that our game viewer carry maximum of 9 passengers so in whatever case you should be willing to join other people on the Safari, if you're not okay with that we highly recommend you communicate with us so that we can arrange a private Safari. Over the delay you may wish to be reminded that this tour is a cross border which involves passport formalities so if we have clients that needs visa at Port of entry we shall have someone to look after that who doesn't need the visa and someone else will help those who needs visa until the process is done and we make a group for the safari. Above all you met differents guides and drivers on this tour depending on what they are specificalized in they all serve the interest of making this tour a successful event, and the way you switch from 1 tour to another is well Coordinated to make sure that no one remains behind. Thank you

Fantastic tour!

Rebekah_P, Jan 2024
This tour was absolutely amazing and worth every penny! Our land safari guide, Mahindra, went out of his way to find so many animals for us. We were able to see impalas, buffalo, baboons, hippos, elephants, lions and so much more. Mahindra made sure we had a close up views of the animals -we were literally 1 meter from the lions! He was willing to stay as long as everyone needed to get as many pics as we wanted. Brooks was our River safari guide, he was so knowledgeable about every animal we came across. It was an unforgettable day that was the highlight of our trip. On the way back to Livingstone we realized my son and another group member accidentally left their phones in the jeep on the Botswana side, which neither of them realized until we had already passed into Zambia. Both drivers on the Zambia and Botswana sides drove back to the border to return the phones. It was above and beyond our expectations and we were so grateful. All the staff were incredible!

Response from Host, Apr 2024

Thank you immensely for your glowing review! We're thrilled to hear that your experience on our tour was absolutely amazing and exceeded your expectations. Mahindra and Brooks are indeed invaluable members of our team, and we're delighted that they made your safari experiences so memorable. It's wonderful to hear that Mahindra's dedication and expertise in locating animals allowed you to witness such a diverse array of wildlife up close, including the breathtaking moment of being just meters away from lions! We're also pleased that Brooks provided insightful knowledge during the river safari, enhancing your overall experience. We're truly grateful for your understanding and appreciation of our drivers' efforts in returning the phones that were left behind. Ensuring the satisfaction and comfort of our guests is our utmost priority, and we're glad we could go above and beyond to assist you in this unexpected situation. Your kind words about our staff mean the world to us, and we'll be sure to pass along your compliments to everyone involved. Thank you once again for choosing us for your safari adventure. It was our pleasure to host you, and we hope to welcome you back for more unforgettable experiences in the future! Warm regards

The transition to cross...

Mona_M, Jan 2024
The transition to cross the border into Botswana was seemless and done professionally. I loved the game drive in Chobe. We saw elephants, kudus, impalas, baboons and many more animals. The buffet lunch was delicious and enjoyable. The boat ride on the Chobe river was unforgettable. We saw Hippos, crocodiles, elephants and many more animals and birds. The safari guides for the land and the river parts were knowledgable, patient and very professional. I had an amazing experience.

An excellent trip to wonderful Chobe.

David_J, Aug 2023
Mwangelwa drove me to and from the border. He was excellent. Good English, knowledgeable and good to chat to. The river cruise, lunch and game drive were great with knowledgeable guides. We saw a great variety of animals including lion.

Response from Host, Sep 2023

Thank you for the review we are pleased to met your demands.

Lions and lots of hippos

Gisele_A, Jan 2023
We got up close to a mother lion and her 3 cubs. We also saw a cape Buffalo, 4 crocodiles, tons of hippos, and hundreds of impala. The boat ride was smooth and pleasant, but the jeep ride was very bumpy.

Response from Host, Feb 2023

Thank you for choosing Cherish Travel and Tours for your Safari.

Poor organization, excellent animals.

Philippe_I, Dec 2022
Very poor organization. The driver on the Zambian side, Emmanuel, is not very friendly and when we started the tour explained nothing about the plan for the day. In Botswana the boat driver Benjamin is good— definitely best person we interacted with that day. Tete was a driver on the Botswanan side and is a total mess. He would dissappear leaving the group standing around not knowing where we were going. And Tete was also in a huge rush— not stopping at many elephants on the game drive and taking a shorter route. The animal sightings were superb, but other tour companies will show you them too. I recommend you go with another one of those companies so you’re not left standing around wasting time and on a shorter experience than others were getting.

Response from Host, Dec 2022

Thank you so much for your your honest review of the Safari. We highly regret that we couldn't reach your expectations, we glad that you have mentioned all parts involved which will help us to make follow ups why all that happened and make right. Our apologies once again!

So good I went twice

Cody_C, Dec 2022
Lions, hippo, elephants, crocs, impala, and a lot more. Both the drive and river cruise give great views of the animals. I went two days in a row. The first day was a bit colder and rainy, but saw an absolute incredible amount of elephants.

Response from Host, Dec 2022

It's a pleasure that you enjoyed the Safari with us. Thank you

All the border crossings were smooth and quick. We saw plenty of animals both on land and from the water.Lunch at the Cresta Moana Lodge was buffet with plenty of choices. We would highly recommend Emmanuel our tour guide and Cherish Tours.

Response from Host, Feb 2020

Confusing but nice

AstridJuliane_S, Feb 2020
Its been a nice daytrip, especially the river cruise. Saw Hippos, many elephants, crocodiles, lions, buffallos... Only three stars cause it was very confusing: The wrong guide picked me and I had to be turned over to another group. Not seen the name of the company once during that trip. Been "handed over" to other people I didnt know many times (1 pick up, 2. ferry, 3. wrong group, 4. some driver who picked me up 2 the nationalpark and join the correct group, 5. guide of the correct group, 6. some driver who gave us a ride 2 the ferry, 7. another unknown driver for drop off. No snacks as in the description. The lunchplace was very nice though.

Response from Host, Feb 2020

Hello our respective client. We sincerely apologise for that mix up of which we suspect a communication breakdown upon handle over on each transition. We shall follow the issue critically and put some measures to improve. With Thanks.
