Itinerary

Meet your guide at the designated meeting place in Lausanne's Place du Port and board your coach to travel about one hour to reach the picturesque town of Broc.

Discover the secrets of great Swiss chocolate on a tour of Maison Cailler Chocolaterie, capped off with tastings of a variety of their delicious chocolates. Next up, head to the traditional Swiss village of Gruyère, which is famous for its signature Gruyère cheese. Sample the cheeses during your visit to a cheese factory, then have time to take in the village and surrounding scenery. Snap photos of the green mountains and listen to cowbells ring in the fields.

Wind down your day with a drive along the Swiss wine route, which runs through the Lavaux Vineyard Terraces — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hillside vineyard terraces scale the slopes above the deep blue waters of Lake Geneva, and date back to at least the 11th century.

At the end of your full-day tour, your guide returns you to your starting point in Lausanne.

Family holiday trip

We had a ‘silver’ ticket which included the same chocolate factory experience (it was excellent) and the museum and tasting sample at the cheese factory (not lunch). We had a longer time in Gruyere village which was useful and chose to visit the castle museum; I think gold ticket holders had a shorter time in the village. Roger was an excellent guide and his driver was also very proficient - comfortable travelling all day. I particularly enjoyed the St Bernard stories and info about the vineyards. We didn’t join the train journey and travelled back to Montreux on the bus although there is an option to buy tickets as extra on the train if you want. Overall, as a family of which includes young adult children, we enjoyed our day and would recommend highly.

We loved it! Maison Cailler and the cheese factory are super interesting, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the chocolate tasting 😋 (my fav part) Also, Gruyères is a beautiful medieval City! The guide was really kind and taught us a lot of information about Switzerland ❤️

From Cheese to Castle - History in the Making!

I took the option of spending more free time in the medieval city rather than sit for the extended cheese tasting. It was a great decision. I got to se the castle, visit shops and eat a delicious lunch. Roger was a great bus driver /tour guide! The cheese and chocolate factories were both very interesting.

The locations were good. Tour guide was terrible. Never introduced himself or bus driver. Did not inform us about where we were going and gave no history of the area. Basically he just told us times to be back to the bus.

Late pick up and it was not provided the service it was sold for. I was not allowed to visit the Cheese factory with cheese tasting because the guide said this is not included on this trip, only the Gruyere gold day trip. However the itinerary clearly says the cheese factory is included. Waste of money.
