Very poor excursion in a beautiful place

We were scheduled for a 9:00am pick up. Driver showed up at 9:40, and then had to make a second stop. Didn’t get on a boat until 11:00am. There was only 1 tour guide for 3 boats so most of the excursion we didn’t even have a guide. We stoped at the bat caves and it was so crowded, we couldn’t get close to our guide, so we had no idea what we were looking at. We had a stop at a beach that wasn’t even listed on our tour description, so we didn’t have swim suits, and had to just stand on the beach for 40 min. We had a good lunch, and then went back to to the harbor, where we waited another 30 minutes to get a shuttle back to our cruise ship. Overall a very poor excursion in a beautiful place

Kilim Geopark was a true natural wonder and our guide Ali made it a very special day. There was a lot of interesting things to see. That being said there was a real problem with transportation to and from the cruise terminal. We contacted the operator through the Viator app the day before the tour to confirm pickup details and received a prompt response. The day of the tour the driver arrived 45 minutes and we had to call him. We learned from other passengers that they had also experienced similar delays. As for the ride to the park we found the van to be very crowded and in poor condition. It was not what we have come to expect from a Viator tour.

The bat cave was...

The bat cave was disappointing as we saw about 3 bats, the mangroves however were great and the boat journey was fast and a lot of fun. We went to a beautiful beach which was actually in Thailand, we had to ensure no sand went back onto the boat so the captain washed our feet with water before we got back on. Both myself and another traveller slipped as we got back on the boat. The driver of the minibus who picked us up from the port was very grumpy, the minibus was very cramped and we had to wait half an hour for 2 guests who were late. My husband said did we have to wait for them and the driver told us to pay to get a taxi if we weren't happy

We had difficulty finding our driver who was late. The boats through mangrove were difficult to get in and out of which we had to do frequently. The boat driver was racing the boat much too fast with other boats and we had no life jackets. I thought the boat was going to crash or tip over several times. The stops were not very good— a bat cave we had to go through in the dark, 30 minutes on a small beach, 30 minutes to watch fish feed. Our original driver didn’t plan to come back to drive us home so we had to get a taxi back. Very disappointing tour.

Couldn't see the bat cave because there is a bridge broken, so that was a bummer. Also couldn't go through Crocodile cave because of high tide. But saw plenty of wildlife and the secret beach.

Great day on the water. Loved the natural beauty of the park. Our guide was very knowledgeable, grata sense of humour and spoke well. Didn’t need to go to the fishing village twice. Maybe the meal could be put together a little better, but was nice enough.

We were picked up from the hotel at 9am and dropped off at the tour only to discover it didn't start until 2 hours later! If we had known this we would have made our own way there. It would have been good to be have been told you need to hire a torch in the bat cave otherwise you don't see the bats!! However the boat trip was great fun..

Disappointing experience and a waste of time

This tour was very disappointing and I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone unless you have a lot of time in Langkawi and nothing else to do. We arrived at the tour site at 10am after being picked up at 9am from the hotel. We then proceed to wait until nearly 12 to actually get on the boat, mind you while we waited around a thousand people have come, got on the boat and left. It’s not really a guided tour either - they drop you in the bat cave which takes 10 minutes, they ride a boat and then it’s done. The guide person on the boat was very nice though and clearly was trying his best. The most disappointing part of the tour was the “lunch” - you get served plain rice with 2 pieces of fried chicken (in the country that’s so well known for amazing cheap dishes that’s the best they could come up with???). It’s clear that they do this so that you can order overpriced seafood off them. This is not the worst part of it though - for some reason they thought it’d be a great idea to have the lunch as the last stop at like 14:30 (???)! At this point just drop us back at the location and I will have a lunch in town. You finish food in 15 minutes and then proceed to wait an hour until a couple of people finish their lobsters…. Overall, the activities are disappointing, the actual interesting things last about 20 minutes and you will spend a whole day there just wasting time around for them to drop you off at the hotels an hour later than promised. So I would really recommend doing something more productive with your time.

Worth the trip

High speed boat ride was thrilling. Fishing farm lunch was basic but quite tasty. Side trip to the Sleeping Beauty Cave was interesting but beach where we landed on needed a bit of a cleanup. Overall experience was worth the money.

The boat speeding is quite dangerous especially near the side of the mountain. If loose control, the boat will crash into the mountain and the consequence will be very serious.

Es muy interesante la cueva, pero llovia mucho y el barco a toda velocidad. La comida horrorosa.. Esta excursion vale 90 mry (unis 20€) en el pueblo o en hoteles de Langkawi, vas en el mismo minibus, te vienen a buscar al hotel, pero es menos de la mitad de lo que pagamos (43€) aqui, asi que esperaba que la comida al menos fuera mejor (habia gente que tenia comida especial, pagando mucho menos que nosotros!). En fin, pagamos la novatada con Viator!!
