My family absolutely loved this tour! Tour guide, Wilkin, is fabulous. We explored the city of Bayahibe and the swimming in the cave was an experience we won’t soon forget. We didn’t feel rushed at all by Wilkin or Paul, the driver, when we swam in the cave for a while. Everything felt like it was on our timeline. This tour was so much more intimate than doing an excursion offered by our cruise ship and without with the masses from the cruise. We were picked up from port of La Romana and transported back with plenty of time before gangway up. We will definitely book another tour with Culebike when we return to Dominican Republic.
Great tour. Short in hours and with good and nice spots. It was steaming hot and were provided cool water several times, afterwards a banana. The bikes are okay but not very new, guide Wilkin is a nice and polite guy with good humor aswell. Afterwards we became some photo’s and video’s for free by Whatsapp. The car driver for the transfer should go back to a driving school, the ride was quite dangerous because of his risky driving. Recommend? Yes!
This was an excellent tour. We got to see the areas outside of where we were staying such as Bayahibe, the national park and caves. The bikes were easy to use and our guide Wilkin was just wonderful and so helpful. We are in our upper 50s and were able to do this with no problems even on some rocky terrain.
I would give this E bike mountain bike adventure, a five out of five for adventure, but a four out of five because it’s kind of difficult. We are a pretty strong pair of 65 year-old people and this is about a 5 mile bicycle over packed sand at first then the last 1.5 miles over sand and rutted washboard trail- the kind where it’s super bumpy. Factor in the sun heat and the humidity and it gets tiring quickly even if you’re fit. At the end of the 5 miles you descend a steep flight of primitive stone steps into a cenote in a national park. Water was fantastic after all that heat! I went in with my bike gear but would love to have brought swim suit under clothes and a small towel. Our guide was good and there were two of them- one to guide the other follows in a 4Runner that we took a ride in to go home. Other things to know:
1. Take a taxi from cruise ship. It cost us $60 r/t plus $10 tip.
2. They’ll give u chilled water but bring a little energy gu to get energy back after 5 miles.
3. Sunscreen!
We had a great time! Our 12 year old especially loved it. We biked through various scenic terrain and enjoyed a little cave. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel if you plan to swim (there are no changing areas) but you’ll probably have the cave to yourself.
This tour is one of the best in the Dominican Republic. We had so much fun and great experiences! We had a wonderful guide and driver, who showed us how to ride an electric bike and took us to the most beautiful places in Bayahibe. We saw how almonds, mangoes, guavas, and avocados grow. The guide was always there to take care of us. We also visited a beautiful cave with a lake and took a swim. The water was cool and clean. We highly recommend this tour to everyone. Don't miss the chance to explore the town, visit the national park and the cave. It was a true fairy tale...
My husband and I booked this tour while staying in Bayahibe, we are mountain bikers and this excursion peaked our interest. Let me tell you it did not disappoint!! One of our best experiences during our stay. It ended up being only my husband and I on the tour so it felt very personalized and we were thankful they still went with such a small group. The ride through Bayahibe and all the way to the cave was absolutely amazing. The guide was so fun and patient letting us swim the cave as long as we wanted. Keep in mind there is no place to change into your swimsuit so wear one underneath. We wore athletic shoes for the bike/hike and packed water shoes in our bag to change into for the cave. They provided water and even bananas for us when we got back in the van. Unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!!!
The guide was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. We saw a beach, but only briefly paused did not go in.
My bike had a bent front rim which made steering difficult, others had other difficulties. There is about a mile walk to the cave, which has a long set of stairs to get down to the water. The cave is unlit, the guide will have flashlights to navigate the stairs.
Wear regular shoes prior to the cave as the hike is over coral and is rough on the feet. The trail in the national park has puddles in the rainy season, so be prepared to get spattered with muddy water.

We do e- bike tours everywhere we travel and this was one of the most engaging for those who want the adventure of a bike. Wilken— our tour guide kept in communication with us regarding the excursion and is polite, helpful and a very friendly guide. How lucky we received a private tour and learned so much about the community, country and natural beauty of Bayahíbe and Dominicus. We saw a natural spring, rode through the town and met to the national park to enjoy cave Chico. What a highlight! The e- bike was in great condition and it was an adventurous ride dodging a few puddles, cars and motorbikes, crabs, goats, butterflies, rocks and coral- yes coral.
We appreciated this wonderful few hours- one of the best e-bike experiences EVA!
Let's start with the bad - schedule was changed the day before to 1pm from 9am. Luckily, I was able to make that work, but then they were also over 30min late. We hopped on the bikes immediately and took off (with basically no explanation of how the bikes worked but I did get a helmet). The bike was a bit worse for wear but functioned just fine (tires could have used some more pressure). The ride to the cave was fun and we rode all the way, which the guide said he usually doesn't due since the last bit is uphill and actually rather technical with exposed bedrock). The cave was amazing and I was able to swim a bit with only a few other people. I think we were in there for maybe half an hour before a larger group came. The ride back was also great and you get to head down a path by the beach between Bayahibe and Dominicus.
I wouldn't hesitate to do this again... the schedule change was annoying but I'm guessing it was due to me being the only participant. I'm probably just lucky it didn't get canceled!
The guide is super nice and I found out he's a fellow mountain biker.
Awesome experience. Bike was well maintained, really cool trails and the cave swimming was fantastic and beautiful!
We had a really good time. Depending on the time of year, prepare for a hot day where you might encounter some mud. The guides were very helpful and considerate though.
We had a great time on the bike tour. We loved the variety of town, beach, and trail. The kids loved swimming in the cave. Our guide was great.
It was a wonderful experience. We got to see the city and the best part of the trip was to swim in a cave. I highly recommend it.

Wir wurden einen Tag vor dem Termin kontaktiert um uns die Abholzeit mitzuteilen. Pünktlich um 8.00 waren sie vor Ort um uns abzuholen. Es war eine super Tour und dank der frühen Abholzeit war im Nationalpark und in der Höhle noch kein Mensch und wir konnten es daher ungestört geniessen. Vielen Dank dafür👍👍👍
