Itinerary

Be ready for convenient hotel pickup early in the morning climb into a comfortable transport vehicle and set off for the countryside outside Bayahibe.

Arrive in the rural area, dotted with sugarcane fields, and meet some local people while learning now sugar cane is grown, harvested, and processed into products for export — including the world-famous Dominican rum.

Stop by a local school and a small village. Sample some locally grown products such as tropical fruits, coffee, and cacao. Head up to the top of Anamuya Mountain to enjoy a traditional Dominican buffet lunch, accompanied by panoramic views. Learn how Dominican cigars are made before visiting the Nuestra Sra. de Altagracia Catedral as a last stop before drop-off.

Started with beautiful half hour cruise on Chavon River. Enjoyed Maria's farm and learning about numerous products. Lovely to drive and eat in a mountain region. Great contrast to beach days. Families with children in our group seemed to enjoy.
