Nice Spots, bad management of guests

I never normally post a review however after spending over £80 on a day trip that I was extremely looking forward to I felt no choice. The speedboat seemed overcrowded, literally squished in together and whilst they aren’t best known for their comfort this seem to make it a whole lot worse. No one was meant to sit outside the front of the boat due to health and safety because of the choppy conditions but as there wasn’t any more room 4 people were allowed. One of the islands had red flags due to weather conditions which could not be helped but was obviously disappointing. We stoped at the first stop and one large family group basically overran the whole thing we waited patiently to get off the boat but they were in the way holding onto the ladder so no one could get down and pushing past to get where they wanted. As we were instructed to get back on the boat I joined the little queue waiting to get back on, only to be push out the way by various members of the group at one point push under the water. I was furious….on the second swim the staff seemed to have realised what a mess the first time was and were a bit more proactive supervising. When we were waiting to get back on board from the beach after lunch we were instructed to form a queue and again they pushed past to secure getting to the front and we had to say something and were ignored. The team were lovely and so were the spots we visited but the mismanagement of the unruly group I think ruined it for everyone else. I will not be booking another trip through this vendor or Viator as although slightly cheaper it isn’t worth having to spend the day with people that behave in such a way and staff do nothing, if I went with my holiday rep I do not think I would have experienced the same issues.

Regarding seating at the front of the boat, it is typically requested by guests seeking a better view of the sea. However, when weather conditions require extra caution, our captain is responsible for making decisions for everyone’s safety, including reducing speed when necessary. As for the Similan Islands, we are currently in the final days of the open season, with the islands closing on 15 May due to the approaching monsoon. During this time, some locations may be affected by high tides and red flag warnings. When such conditions occur, swimming and docking may be restricted to ensure your safety, which remains our top priority. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by other guests during your tour. As this is a join-in trip, group behavior can be difficult to manage entirely, but your feedback is valuable and will be shared with our team to strengthen guest guidance and supervision for future tours.
