Viator did not tell us we had to make ferry reservations in advance to get to Kangaroo Island. The ferry was full and we could not go on the tour!!
We tried to make reservations weeks earlier but were told by Skylink ferry we could not make them from the US!!! They said our tour operator had to make them locally!!!
It was Viator’s responsibility to arrange that. They did not do it!!!

The Tour was too much travel time for very little experience. The guide was not organised in keeping the tour group together. Overall KI is overrated especially if you are doing a day trip from Adelaide as there is too much travel time with very little time left to see or experience.

We had an incredible day on Kangaroo Island ! Our guide, Pete, was personable, and well versed on both the history of the island but also the flora and fauna…he know just where to take us to have an excellent experience…we didn’t want the day to end…he took us for a delicious whiting burger lunch in a great little hole in the wall…thanks to everyone for the best day !

We did the kangaroo island scenic nature and wild life day tour and it was amazing. Our guide Shauna was lovely and friendly, she explained everything in details with great passion and entusiasm. She also helped us to solve an issue with another tour from another company. We managed to see a lot of wild animals. We highly recommend this tour and kangaroo highland trails

Curly was an awesome guide. He was extremely knowledgeable of the island and its history. The van permitted us to go places the big busses can't. It also allowed us to see more of the island.

Our guide Pete was friendly, knowledgeable, and an all-around good human being. He obviously loved Kangaroo Island, having deeply studied its natural and man made history. His understanding of the Island was shared with us in a conventional manner, never feeling like a lecture. We covered a large area, both geographically and topic-wise, but never felt rushed or overwhelmed. A delightful day! Thanks Pete!

Driver and Guide was extremely friendly, very safe driving also on gravel roads. We had different wonderful stops with nice memories from flora and fauna. Caitlin made an extra stop to point out some Koalas sleeping in the trees during the day.
Customer service was excellent. We recommend this excursion. Hotel pickup and drop off was perfect and on time.

Jampacked tour of kangaroo island highlights. Lots of driving, but beautiful sites to see and a knowledgeable and informative guide. Would’ve preferred better audio from the tour guide on the bus. Describing the lunch as "hornet" was definitely an overstatement, but overall would recommend the trip.

Extremely disappointing tour.
We were picked up at Emu Bay then drove for 2 hours to Penneshaw and back.
Sheryl our guide (who seemed a nice person) gave us very little information and told no stories.
The tour took us to places that were easy to find on the map.
They provided a burger for lunch and water.
Do not do this tour if you have your own car. We are all still scratching our heads and trying to figure out what we paid $1,600 for.

I can confirm that our team have since readjusted our planning when guests commence a tour but are located significantly far from each other.
As a remote location, it is certainly common for a lot of driving whilst on tour, however we will consider alternative options for guest pick ups. Your tour guide may have been put off by guest comments and unfortunately this may have transitioned into the day. Although every site is accessible by a personal vehicle, tours generally provide a more efficient and educational experience. We apologise that this was not the case.
We would like to mention that this is the first time we have received such feedback regarding this guide. Thank you again for letting us know. This tour went above and beyond our expectations. We had limited time on the island and this one-day tour covers all the necessary attractions and wildlife spotting. Most of the merit goes to our outstanding guide Nikki, an extraordinary professional with a multi decade experience on the field. She showed us all the wonders of the island, on and off path, and made sure we saw that through her enthusiastic eyes. We had an increasingly pleasant day thanks to her friendliness and to the amazing stories she would tell us along the way. 100% recommended if you only have one full day to dedicate to Kangaroo Island

As it was pouring and windy, we decided to stay in t van instead of going out.

Incredible tour with the lovely Nikki. We saw so much of the island and she went above and beyond for my tour. We saw koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and even southern right whales at Flinders Chase. A fantastic trip and a must do for visitors on KI

It has been a wonderful day for me and my nephew with Niki’s information shared about Kangaroo Island.

Nikki was an amazing guide!! She knew all the best spots to find wildlife - she even found us an echidna! We loved the spots we visited on this tour, especially Seal Bay. The guide Vicky was amazing as she knows so much about the flora and the fauna. She made extra stops when we saw some interesting landscapes or animals like kangaroos and echidneas so we could take some pictures. The visit to the Remarkable Rocks was unbelievable. It was worth it to go with a guide, especially Vicky who is a naturalist.
