I had a great tour with Miyu who was very engaging and knowledgeable. We covered the major sights, history of the area & she answered several of my questions. She also gave me additional ideas of places to visit in the afternoon after the tour. I had a great time!

This tour was incredible. Everything about the tour - from riding the Enoden train, visiting the Great Buddah, and enjoying the beauty of the various shrines, temples and scenery - was just perfect. Our tour guide, Maki - was a gem. It was beautiful to see how much she loved her community and how she wanted to share it with others.

Highly recommend the Kamakura walking tour

Had an amazing time with our guide Miyu on our Kamakura walking tour! The Great Buddha is just something that needs to be seen in real life (the pics look great but it is even better in person). We also saw Tsurugoaka Hachimangu shrine which had a Spring Festival on that day which was awesome to see! Miyu was a fantastic guide, extremely knowledgeable and lovely especially to our kids. Highly recommend Miyu and the Kamakura walking tour!

Midori san was an amazing tour guide! She told us all about the history of Kamakura, and showed us lots of fun spots on the way to the shrines. A day in Kamakura with Maki.

Our tour guide Maki was excellent. She was very pleasant, knowledgeable and gave us such a clear, easy to understand history of Buddha Temples and Shinto Shrines including how people of today carry the Japanese customs forward as part of everyday life. I don’t think we would have had the same experience if we did this on our own. She lives in Kamakura and was so happy to share her home town with us. She also shared her must try foods while in Japan. Book your tour with Maki. You won’t be disappointed.

Best day in Kamakura

We had an excellent trip with Miyu as our guide in Kamakura. She made the whole experience fun and relaxing while showing us the city’s main attractions, including beautiful Shinto shrines, important Buddha temples, and the famous Great Buddha statue. Miyu shared fascinating history along the way and even introduced us to local treats like pigeon cookies and octopus crackers. What stood out most was how thoughtful and attentive she was—making sure we had plenty of rest breaks and opportunities to stay hydrated. Thanks to her, the day was both memorable and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Great guide of Kamakura

Midori was such a great guide for us in Kamakura. She was very knowledgeable about the history and showed us the big Buddha and temples and shrines. She also showed some great viewing spots of the city and toon wonderful pictures.

A Perfect Day in Kamakura with Maki

We had the absolute pleasure of touring Kamakura with Maki, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. She gave my husband and our group an amazing experience exploring beautiful Buddhist temples and shrines, all while sharing rich insights into Japanese culture and history. We’ve been fortunate enough to travel to many places and take numerous tours over the years, and I can confidently say Maki is one of the best guides we’ve ever had. She was incredibly well-prepared, flexible, and so friendly—it felt like exploring with a knowledgeable friend. Our group had so much fun, and we learned so much along the way. I can’t recommend this tour—and Maki—enough. I’ll definitely be back, because I want to see Maki again and keep learning from her!
