Overview
Ponte City is a brutalist-style architectural sight to behold. Built in 1975 to a height of 565 feet (173 meters) it held the title the tallest residential building in Africa for 40 years. This guided tour allows you to experience the building and learn about its history. You'll get sweeping views of Johannesburg and then peek into the core of the building for a different perspective.

Entrance to the tower is at the end of lily avenue, it looks like a dead end but the black entrance gate is on the left. Tell security you are here from Dlala Nje and they will point you to the welcome centre

The tour was great, we went up to the 51st tour where we were given an aerial tour of Joburg. The guide told us the history of the building with some personalised stories before we went to the basement level for some great picture opportunities.
There is also a walking tour available after, around the local suburb that I wasn’t aware of that may be of interest.

A breathtaking experience at Ponte Residence.
My tour guide, a young man (I miss his name now) was quite detailed and had good command of his information.
He represented Dlala Nje so very professionally.
Ponte is no longer what you were told, you should see Ponte for yourself.
I recommend this tour.

Interesting place. Great guides.
The tour also takes you through the area around the tower, which is very interesting. There was a little confusion about the tour I booked, it was longer than I was told. I had someone pick me up, so missed the last 45 mins of the tour that probable were more in and about the tower.
