Set out down the Snake River with our guide, Henry. He was awesome and walked us through Fly Fishing lessons and techniques. Our trip lasted 10 miles over approx 6 hours. Caught whitefish and cutthroat trout. Saw bald eagles along the river banks. My wife and I had a wonderful time !!!

My guide, James was awesome! If I knew how to fly fish a little bit better I think it could’ve landed a lot more, but I did have quite a few on. James taught me a lot about fly fishing and where to look for good places to lay the fly down on the water. I was surprised how small the fish are on the snake river. I was hoping for a larger fish, but evidently that’s pretty rare.

The Snake River is home to a population of native Cutthroat trout, which is fairly rare in this day and age. As such, WY Game and Fish manages it to maintain this unique fishery. It isn't stocked, so fish of all sizes are common. There are plenty of larger Cutties in there, but catch and release practices make them pretty smart.
