We had a great experience from this trip, thanks to Alastair who has rich knowledge about the history of these places and, in general, about Scotland and UK. Thank Alastair and George as well for arranging the time effectively with great care.

Loved this tour and Roger was so informative and fun - not rushed - and the battlefield was very moving.

The most fantastic tour and tour guide we’ve ever had! George’s stories and knowledge of history made everything come alive.
Linda_H, Jun 2026
Ask for George Murray, he was the best guide we had on our trip. He even took us to an extra stop. So very interesting.
Dianne_F, Jun 2026
Excellent tour guide, George, knowledgeable, humorous and very nice. We saw “Craig na Dun” and Culloden including the Fraser Clan stone, the battlefield, monument and the museum. We stopped to see some beautiful horses and toured Cawdor Castle which is beautiful. I recommend this highly! Go Highlander can be booked directly on their website.

Our guide, Sarah, was excellent! Her knowledge of the area was extensive, and she shared information in a way that was both engaging and informative. She was clearly passionate about the history and sights we visited, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
My only criticism concerns the ticket pricing. Given the cost of the tour, I was a bit surprised to learn that admission to the castle and the battlefield museum required additional fees. In fairness, I may have overlooked the details when booking, but I had assumed the tour was all-inclusive except for lunch. It would be helpful if those extra costs were highlighted more prominently during the booking process so guests know exactly what to expect.
Overall, Sarah did an outstanding job, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

I cannot rave enough about our guide George! His knowledge was great and he made our experience top notch! It was a great experience and our whole group highly recommends this!
Susan_W, May 2026
George was an exceptional guide, providing a narration of our trip, but especially the history to understand the area. He made wonderful suggestions about the itinerary. He was very informative, professional & made the day perfect.
Julie_M, May 2026
George was an excellent guide who added his knowledge of history and a bit of science to embellish our experience. Having lived in the area growing up he was able to draw from his experiences to guide and entertain us.
Erica_P, May 2026
Sarah was an amazing tour guide. We learned so much on this trip and loved the personal touch of hearing about stories of her growing up and the connection she has to her heritage and giving us stories outside of the tour itself. If we had visited the sites without a tour we would have missed out on so much. Highly recommend!

If I could give more than five stars I would. Been on a bunch of tours, this one is in a class by itself. George Murray, the guide was funny, insightful, friendly, knew his history and told it with verve and pride. and took us to places not on the itinerary. That were even better than what was promised. Also, he seemed to know everyone in Scotland. And they all loved him as we did.

George was an amazing guide and a true pleasure to meet. My mom's 84 years of being on this earth had a dream to make it to her father's place of birth. George made this visit a gift she'll never forget.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you, Darrell, for sharing this heartfelt experience. We're so glad George could contribute to fulfilling such a meaningful dream for your mom. Wishing her and your family many more memorable journeys.

George was an amazing guide, We were the only ones for the day and feel that we were given more than expected, very informative in a fun way.

My husband and I ended up the only two on this tour and we had a wonderful one on one experience with George. Clava Cairns was so interesting once the history was explained by this local guide. Highly recommend booking this tour in particular because of the knowledge this company brings to the tour experience.

George did a wonderful job as a tour guide. If you’re looking for a tour in Galway, Scotland to take this is the one you need to take. Thank you for the amazing day and tour!
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Oh Emily, this is so funny. Although we did have a great day together but it was around Inverness. I'm wondering if when leaving a review for your Galway trip in Ireland did you mention Inverness?
Anyways, Thank you so much and hope to see you both again.
George

We had an exceptional day on the Loch Ness and Outlander Sites Tour from Inverness, thanks entirely to our outstanding guide, Alistair Kennedy. What makes a great tour guide great? Alistair embodies it all: extremely well-informed, highly articulate, easily understood, and full of infectious enthusiasm. With extensive Highland experience through longstanding family ties and his own life there, plus a military background that gives him deep knowledge of Scottish military history, he brought remarkable expertise to every site we visited.
But beyond knowledge, Alistair is extraordinarily personable and delightful to be with, a wonderful sense of humor, and genuinely a really nice man. He made our small group feel like a family for the day, all part of a unified team enjoying the experience together. He never rushed us, always listened to questions, and delivered information-packed, engaging commentary at every stop.
What makes Alistair truly unique is that even though he's surely seen these sites hundreds of times, his sense of curiosity, awe at the history and nuance, and amazement at what these important sites represent feels completely authentic. It's as if he's seeing them for the first time alongside you. That's the gift of an excellent communicator and passionate guide.
The day was jam-packed with outstanding experiences: the Bronze Age Clava Cairns, Culloden Battlefield, the shores and mysteries of Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, whiskey tasting at the Singleton Distillery (Alistair didn't partake as he was driving), and even - at my wife's and another guest's request - a surprise stop where we petted Highland cows! Alistair made it all happen seamlessly.
One exceptional experience after another, led by a truly outstanding guide. Highly recommend!

Book ahead and ask for Sarah and George!! 100% fun! Even obscure historical details were offered and we really enjoyed it!! Engaging and professional!
Jason_H, Oct 2025
Top rated group that the guides also guided us through the sites as well. Very knowledgeable about the history as well. Fantastic tour.
Elaine_S, Sep 2025
This is a fantastic tour for any Outlander fan! You won’t see Jamie but you see many filming scenes! Roger was our tour guide - probably the best - besides being extremely witty, he explained the historical perspective behind each place we saw, and of course the Outlander filming perspective. Culloden Battlefield was a very somber and moving stop filled with a lot of historical artifacts at the museum. Roger also entertained us with many stories about Nessie. The time allocated at each stop was perfect and we had an amazing day!!
Lorna_C, Sep 2025
George is an excellent historian and tour guide. We learned so much about Scotland and in particular the sites we visited. He has a great sense of humour which made the tour more fun

The tour was incredible. Nice and small group which made for easier travel. The van was very comfortable as well. Roger, our guide, was amazing! Very knowledgeable and hilarious, which made the trip feel very nice. He made it feel like we had known him forever. The highlands are stunning and everyone should experience it when coming to Scotland. 10/10! Thank you Roger for such a wonderful time!
