We left with rather mixed feelings about this stargazing safari. There were definitely moments to enjoy - the beautiful colours of the sunset, the slightly mad dash across the desert in a 4x4, and the quiet darkness far away from city lights.
However, this also came with the familiar downsides we kept encountering in Egypt: constant tipping expectations, guides trying to sell extras at almost every step, and a sense that the “Bedouin village” was more staged than authentic - lively only when tourists were around and fading the moment we left.
Even the stargazing itself felt like a missed opportunity. The telescopes seemed capable of so much more, yet we only looked at very obvious objects, like the surface of the Moon, rather than exploring the sky in a deeper way.
The dinner was fine, but nothing memorable.

This was such a fun adventure, so much packed in to one night. The star gazing was amazing. We went with our 5 year old daughter and she lived riding the camel, the horse and meeting all the other animals. Everyone was super friendly and our driver was very funny but was very considerate of the smaller children in out 4x4 (another family with 2 year old) so he was more gentle and kept checking we were all OK. The food was also great, we are a vegetarian family and we felt well catered for.

Amazing trip, we were late and missed pick up point but they did wait for us, the drivers were positively crazy, amazing driving, sense of humour, the crew was helpful, talkative, fun, there were lots of activities, amazing views, tasteful drinks, nothing to add, just must to do if you are in Egypt

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We were picked up in Safari Jeep with another 2 people. At no point did it feel crowded. We were then taken to a meeting point and then through the desert to the village. The ride was amazing, the driver was intent on getting to the village first which means lots of bumps, almost like a roller coaster. Once at the village we had drinks, a camel ride, learnt about pigeons, held animals had dinner and a small show by the fire, all before stargazing and being shown the moon and Jupiter.
Our guide Nasir was amazing, explaining everything throughout the day. We were given water immediately which was appreciated with small children. Our driver Mohamed was also very good. At no point in the village did it feel forced where a tip was required or heavily hinted. The food was tasty.
Would definitely recommend.

It was as advertised -- I got picked up on time, driven to the site, and the event there was fairly well orchestrated: we got a welcome drink, heard about the plan for the day, saw a bread baking demonstration, were encouraged to buy things from their bazaar, rode camels, saw the farm animals, went out to see the sunset, rode horses, had dinner, got a stargazing explanation, had the opportunity to look through telescopes, and then got taken back. The only downside is that there a lot of people waiting in line to share two telescopes, and it turned out they were both showing the moon. Be aware that the ride into the desert can be jouncy if you have a motion sickness problem. Also, deserts get chilly at night. I was happy I brought a hoodie.

Fantastic experience and amazing value for money - both adults and children / teens really enjoyed it. For under £30pp it included transport there and back, horse ride, camel ride, farm visit, feeding animals, dinner, water, star gazing, camp fire, singing and very knowledgeable astronomy guide plus Astro photographer! Really brilliant probably best excursion I’ve ever been on for a great price.

An incredible experience I'd recommend to anybody wanting to understand Egyptian village culture. This excursion was so informative, really chill but with plenty to do. The villagers, the tour guides and the photographers had amazing energy. 10/10 would come back.

A great trip out. The jeep ride was exhilarating - I have no idea how the driver found his way back in the dark - very impressive! The bedouin dinner was tasty and plentiful. The best bit was the stargazing - the lack of light pollution is amazing in the middle of the desert. Through the telescopes we saw Jupiter and two of its moons, the rings of Saturn and craters on the moon.... just fantastic.

I’ve been on a lot of safaris over the past few years, especially in Hurghada. They have all covered the same things as this trip , jeep safari ride, camel/horse ride, bedouin camp visit, food and stargazing. This was the only trip that I would give 5* star for , I would give even more if I could!
Everything was of top quality, the staff, the food and the experiences.
The stargazing itself was amazing - I absolutely love stargazing and this was a huge moment for me. I’ve been before but it was never as detailed as this experience, i.e. in depth explanations of what we can see in the night sky.
I booked very last minute on Viatour. I felt very safe and had a great experience. This will be the only stargazing safari that I will recommend to friends in the future.

The journey into the desert by jeep was a bumpy rollercoaster, the driver making the most of the experience, fast and furious.. very enjoyable.
The camel ride, seeing the sunset, the meal, astrologer and seeing Saturn in the telescope exceeded expectations. We would highly recommend the trip

Absolutely amazing! From start to finish, so much fun with very bumpy jeep safari, the camel ride was fun. Sunset and location was breathtaking. Food was nice. Stars and explanation were incredible. The main guide was just great, an elderly, very educated person and well spoken. Also the drivers were super attentive. We got many nice hours for small money.
I would have loved an option to book a more private tour there. The group was big and some disturbed the peaceful camp.
Last comment to seriously overweight tourists: If you force yourself on the back of a tiny old horse with clearly weak back, then that is your own responsibility. Every grown up person knows the locals will let it happen for the money - just skip that part! Also, try not to scream when a horse or camel moves. You embarrass yourself among these graceful creatures.

What a wonderful experience, everything ran smoothly... it was worth every penny and more.
It was suitable for couples and families. The jeep is bumpy through the desert so I wouldn't recommend for anyone with major back problems. But other than that it was an amazing evening.

Our driver took us through the desert with incredible pace and control of his vehicle, it was super fun although a bit scary at times ! 😊
Then, the Bedouin village tour began with some explanations about recent Egyptian history with our French guide Abdullah. We drank some tea, went to the pharmacy to learn about home-made médecine. Later, we went to see different fruit and vegetable plantations and also animals, we loved that part.
We went to see the sunset on the hill which was beautiful to see.
The dinner was good, then they turned off the lights and we could the stars so bright in the night. It was an unbelievable experience!

I was picked up at my hotel precisely on time. The journey was a little longer as we needed to stop at other hotels, but it was comfortable and fun. The jeep ride was incredible; prepare for a little "massage," as the driver described it. He made jokes, so the journey went quickly. The guide was living his job with perfect English & German, talking about the history of the place, the Egyptian lifestyle in the desert, food, medicine, astrology, and much more. He sang a beautiful song during the sunset, we rode camels, met with new people during a tasty dinner, and watched the stars at the end. The moon was quite bright at the time, so don't expect anything magical, but night mode photos were pretty incredible. Amazing value for the price.

Pick up was prompt
Had to travel a bit. Drove into the desert in a pick up vehicle it was a 20 minute journey. Once we reached our destination. There was a setup of a Bedouin village with tents, bread making, pharmacy etc.
we were offered tea. The. Taken around and explored the village. Went on a camel ride, we had a lovely photographer for our group who took some amazing pictures for our family.
We then took the monster truck to a mountain top to view the sunset
It was mesmerising. After sunset came back to the village had a scrumptious dinner and then a well informed person on the night skies shared his knowledge on the stars and we had a view of Jupiter through the telescope.
After star gazing we were taken back to our hotel

Very early pickup given the schedule. Would have been five stars with a later departure and less down time but a great day out nonetheless. Jeep ride was good fun, Bedouin village visit informative, great little camel ride (could have been longer) and an excellent dinner. Too bad it was so cloudy, so not much sunset or stargazing.

Fun day out for all the family.. great to explore Egypt and the desert. Great price. Sand dune ride was very bumpy and somewhat dangerous but still fun. Camels were great, dinner was huge. Quads were fun.
Our guide Hassam was insightful with his knowledge of Egypt.

What a great experience! The camel ride was fun and the camels looked well cared for. Guide Nasser was super friendly and told very interesting about the stars. The stargazing felt magical, even if I doubted the telescopes were working properly – that didn’t matter. The setting sun in the desert and horseback riding at setting sun was also magical.
The food was delicious and the setting in the desert was beautiful. Little tip for families with young children: the jeep ride is a bit intense and the return late, but even with our 4-year-old it was totally worth it!

Wundervoller Ausflug keine Abzocke tolle Jeep Fahrt mit klasse Fahrer unsere Kinder 7 und 10 waren begeistert es gab so viel zu gucken der Guide sprach deutsch und hat alles ausführlich erklärt vorallem Abend bei den sternenbildern dann noch Kamel und pferdchen reiten rundum ein gelungener Tag auch bei der Hitze im August erträglich da es dort abends leicht abkühlt
