It was a wonderful day and I felt very lucky to see first hand the wonderful work this charity does. It educated me about the dog population of Thailand and I also got to interact with the wonderful dogs and cats of the centre. I will always remember fudge (who has no hind legs but a big personality) running on the beach with such joy and enthusiasm and Trevi the lovely pup who got adopted to England and bunrod, who had just had an amputation but was being comforted by a lovely English guy to help him heal. I met wonderful volunteers who reminded me that being a tourist could be rewarding and not just self-centred. And Luke the manager was so kind and focussed on the mission. Finally, I was educated on the dog packs and street dogs and saw the healthy and happy doggos of the packs they help each day. And I fell in love with Luna - a beautiful girl who I know will be ok because of rescue paws. Thank you!

    Making a positive difference

    Van_V, Jan 2026
A hands on experience with the staff and volunteers at P.A.W.S. They recently moved to a new location, which meant we didn’t do a beach walk but that was o.k. They were very good at communicating the changes and the new location is much better for the animals. After a tour of the clinic we took some lovely dogs for a walk, had lunch with some amazing staff and volunteers, and then rode out to several locations for the feeding run. Would highly recommend if you are looking for something to do that promotes positive animal welfare.

Thanks so much for coming along and for leaving a review, really appreciate it. We’re glad you still enjoyed the day despite the move. The new location has been a big improvement for the animals, even if it meant skipping the beach walk this time. Great to hear you enjoyed spending time with the dogs, the team, and joining the feeding run. You’re welcome back anytime 🐾

    We booked this trip 6mths...

    Joanna_W, Nov 2025
We booked this trip 6mths ago and had been really looking forward to spending a day of our holiday doing something really worthwhile. Sadly, despite having received confirmation at the time and having only just paid the balance a week ago, no one arrived to collect us from our hotel on the day of the tour and we sat waiting in reception for an hour, before giving up and contacting both Rescue Paws and Viator. To give them credit, Rescue Paws replied fairly promptly and offered us a full refund, and the reason given (their relocation to new premises this week) was genuine. However, as someone who has spent my working life in animal welfare and totally understands the importance of good customer service, a quick email, WhatsApp or message via my Viator account would have been greatly appreciated, even if it had been late last night or early this morning. Every holiday, I carefully research and select an animal charity in the country I am visiting, to spend time at and then support and promote back home afterwards and whilst I totally understand that plans can change, I'm bitterly disappointed in the lack of communication and wasted morning of our precious holiday, when we could have arranged a different day out if we'd known.

Hi there, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback, and I’m truly sorry for the experience you had. This was entirely our mistake, and I completely understand your disappointment — especially after planning this visit months in advance. We’ve been in the middle of a major clinic relocation this week, and the move date was brought forward with almost no notice. Between transporting our rescue animals, shutting down our old site, and managing the logistics of the move, we unfortunately failed to send out the communication we should have. That’s on us, and I’m genuinely sorry. You’re absolutely right — a quick message the night before or the morning of would have prevented your wasted time and frustration. We hold ourselves to a much higher standard, and we fell short here. I’m glad we were able to process the full refund promptly, but I know that doesn’t make up for the impact on your holiday. If you do return to Hua Hin in the future, we’d love the chance to welcome you properly and show you the work we do once our new clinic is fully settled. Thank you again for your understanding and for the work you’ve done in animal welfare — it means a lot to us.

Joyful day which gave me hope

    Amazing Experience!!

    Theresa_G, Jul 2025
My visit to PAWS Rescue was a well organised, fantastic day. The guys at the centre were brilliant and so welcoming and didn't mind the many questions I had about the dogs, they way they are cared for, which is nothing short of amazing, and how they live their lives in Hua Hin. We took the dogs walking along a beautiful beach, which included the ones that had to use a little buggy or had their own wheels for legs. No doggo that was allowed to be out was left out. We had some lunch then it was off to feed the many packs that live in the area. My favourite was Ghost Pack but they are all lovely and were so excited to see us. This was the best day of my time in Thailand and can't recommend this experience highly enough. The work these guys do for the dogs is so needed here and I am already thinking about how I can come back next year to volunteer my time for a few weeks. Special thanks to Ryan who spent the day looking after our group and injecting a lot of education and a little bit of humour.

A different day at the Beach

    richard_t, Apr 2025
We were picked up efficiently from our hotel in Hua Hin and on arrival we had a short briefing with Ryan along with a guide of how the day would pan out. We first joined the volunteers and staff to walk the dogs to the beach with it being a Monday and having gone two days without walks theee was some extreme enthusiasm shown by some of the dogs. I had the pleasure of walking Willow who wanted to be first to the beach but last to leave! On returning to the sanctuary all the dogs were showered and cleaned having been in the sea but Willow having been slow to return wanted to hide as clearly did not like fresh water as much as sea water. We then joined Ryan, Hollie and Vicky for lunch at a local restaurant upon returning from lunch we joined two of the volunteers with Ryan and our driver to visit and feed several local street/jungle packs of dogs. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would recommend that any dog lover spend a day here and help support PAWs.

A trip full of joy and happy dog love!

After a shared pick-up ride with 3 other volunteers, we arrived in the P.A.W.S. office for a short welcome introduction and information about the organization. It was a quick but eye-opening intro, why their work is highly needed. And as well we got informed how to or not to approach a dog, specially the wild ones. After a short 5min walk we arrived at the operation center. We met other crew members and part of the pack. Each of us got a dog on either a leash or in a buggy (some of them can not walk because they only have 3 or 2 legs left) and we went for a lovely walk around the lake. The beach was not accessible due to high tide, but the dogs were still super happy for any kind of walk - and so were we! Just bring a bottle of water, sunscreen and a hat in any case as either on thr lake or beach walk you will enjoy the heat of Thailand's sun. Then we returned the dogs and went for traditional Thai lunch. The afternoon was exciting since we hopped on a open bus, equipped with a lot of food and fresh water. Stopping at different wild living dog packs, we were highly and warmly welcomed by most of the dogs, longing for extra cuddles and love, while some prefee to stay away from humans. The whole experience was simply wonderful and the team is doing an amazing job!! They are all passionate about their animals and it's just lovely to see their efforts helping the environment and locals as well as the animals! They even offer free medical treatments for Thai people holding animals since it's too expensive for most of them to pay for sterilisation or medicaments. Please support this wonderful organization !! I will definitely come back and maybe one day even adopt a dog as soon as my life circumstances allowes to.

Dear Nadja, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Rescue P.A.W.S. We’re so glad to hear that your day with us was meaningful and enjoyable. It’s wonderful that you appreciated learning about our work and the care we take in handling and approaching the dogs, especially those in the wild. The walk around the lake and the feeding runs are such special moments, not just for the dogs but for everyone involved—it’s great to know they left a lasting impression on you. We’re deeply touched by your kind words about our team’s dedication. Helping animals, supporting the local community, and educating others about animal welfare are at the core of what we do. It means so much to have your support, and we’re thrilled that you’re considering adoption in the future. You’re always welcome back at Rescue P.A.W.S. Thank you again for supporting our mission and spreading the word about the work we do.

    Great family activity!

This was an amazing experience for my two daughters and me. The team was very understanding about the fear one of my daughters has about large dogs and supported her and gave her confidence. Great mission and great activity.

Giving and getting in one experience!

    Krystyna_Y, Mar 2024
The most humbling experience. The staff and volunteers that run P.A.W.S are incredible humans, and the dogs they rescue, provide free food, and vet services for, are so very lucky. We got to take some of the current resident pups for a long beach walk and water play, had a delicious lunch in one of the small village style restaurants and then went with the volunteers to meet and feed some of the packs that P.A.W.S. cares for. Please help support their great work - your money goes towards providing all their services.

It is the most important work you can do for these homeless animals. They deserve nothing but unconditional love and care!

    Amazing experience

    Phil_G, Feb 2020
One of the highlights of my stay in Thailand was to visit Rescue Paws in HuaHin, which is a dog rescue organisation, that helps to combat the problem of stray dogs in the city, and across the whole country. Whereas we in the UK, treat our pets as one of the family, in Thailand they are merely seen as the devil, with many viewing them in a similar way to how we view rats. They are just seen as a pest, that is after what they cherish so dearly, their food! This organisation, with its many volunteers from around the globe, befriend the packs of dogs around the city, many who are out in fields and up mountains, with the aim of steralising them, to stop the growth of the population and also to tend to the poorly and to provide them with a healthier diet than just living “off the land”. A pack that we visited have been fed by Rescue Paws every day for over a year, so when the truck pulls up, they are delighted to welcome the humans, whereas a year ago they would have been far less friendly!! The charity is based on temple grounds, with its own temple and monks and right on the edge of a magical beach, which is where the dogs are taken for their daily exercise, which in turn has given me amazing memories. Just to see these gorgeous animals, once just roaming, playfully jumping in the water, all under the loving supervision of the team, all of whom are obvious adorers of them all. A real sight to behold. Another part of their great work, is to find people around the world to adopt the dogs. My little mate from this year’s trip, Crusty, a little Jack Russell lookalike, is just about to be rehomed in Finland of all places! How amazing. So should you ever find yourself in Thailand and looking for something a little bit different to do, then I strongly urge you to visit Rescue Paws. The team are genuinely lovely, the location is stunning, you’ll get so many memories to treasure PLUS you’ll get to eat some amazing Thai food for lunch. If you’re lucky, you’ll also get to sample the most gorgeous coconut ice cream you’ll EVER taste!!

    Response from Host, Mar 2020

Phil, thank you so much for your visit. We the staff, volunteers, puppies and kittens all loved having you. It was such a joy and I know Crusty certainly loved the beach photo shoot. We look forward to your next visit.
