Itinerary

Meet your driver at your District 1 hotel in Ho Chi Minh City for a roughly 7:30am departure, then board a climate-controlled mini-coach for the 2.5-hour drive to the Mekong Delta.

Upon arrival at Can Gio Monkey Island, you'll scope out the lovely scenery, enjoy sugar cane juice, visit a crocodile farm, spot wild animals in the mangrove forest, and take a speedboat through the jungle.

You'll stop for a classic Mekong Delta lunch at a local restaurant, then make a visit to a public beach for sightseeing and more. At tour's end, the mini-coach will meet you for your transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City. This 10-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

I really enjoyed the trip. The guide was really nice and funny ! The temple was interested, the farm with the tea and traditional music so cute. The lunch was very good and it is an opportunity to taste Vietnamese food. highly recommended.

Good to go with a local company and not an international one

I didn’t like the fact that no one got in touch with me regarding the tour. I reported at the pickup place at 7 but had to call a US number to know why nobody is picking me up or calling me till 7:40 I had to pay for the international call, the local number given on my ticket wasn’t in service. Then the tour guide texted me n finally picked us up at 8am, till then I was anxious without communication Our tour guide wasn’t much of a help in explaining things in English, may be he was good in Vietnamese

The whole tour was very interesting and well organised. I particularly enjoyed encounters with the cheeky monkeys and the mangrove forest itself. The Vietnam War commando camp was also very interesting.

Enjoyable in parts but not as described

We were told to wait in the hotel lobby at 6.45 am ready for collection between 7 and 7.15 am. No one came and we were not contacted. I made several calls to international numbers but got either unobtainable or a recorded message saying the line wasn't in operation. We were finally collected at 8.15 am. Monkey Island and the army base were very interesting and enjoyable. I would not advise anyone with poor eyesight without glasses to go as you can't wear glasses as the monkeys steal them. It stated on the tour description that the boat fee was included (it wasn't) and we were charged 115 vietnamese dong each (approx £7.50 for both of us) for a 5 minute trip. The lunch was good but the resort by the beach where we ate lunch was shabby. The beach had a lot of rubbish, the sea looked very polluted and you wouldn't want to sit there. They advertise swimming in a pool but this was for an additional charge and there was little time to swim by the time lunch was over. We were dropped back in Ho Chi Minh at 4.15 pm so this was an 8 hour trip rather than 10 hours as advertised. The tour guide (who called himself Kevin) told us at the end of the tour that a minimum tip of at least 50,000 Vietnamese dong per person was expected. We did tours with other companies and were not told this. We did tip the guides from other companies as they collected us on time and didn't ask for a tip. I have complained to Viator about the boat fee, the tour length and the fact that we were left waiting for 1.5 hours to be picked up but so far, I have not had a response other than that they are looking into it.

Nice people make some mistakes

The most memorable part was the discovery that the tour did not relate at all to the description that I signed up for. The organizer did try to compensate us for the mistake though… it was just a mistake. I think someone should check these postings though.

If you are a real traveller, who wants to see the local life as it is and gain the understanding of the culture, don’t do this trip. We were hugely disappointed: we saw the delta for about 20 mins, and spent between 30-40 at each of a number of factories/shops, selling overpriced stuff, where you learn absolutely nothing about the actual life/culture/history/you name it. Also, paying $4.5 for a bottle of water at one of those places was truly outrageous, where at most of the tourist places you can get two bottles for $1. I would give no stars if there was an option.

Best Tour Guide we had in Vietnam.Our tour guide's name was Mai. She was the best tour guide I've ever had. She was knowledgeable, kind, sweet and thoughtful. She made sure we got to do everything we wanted and was pleasant to have around. After our tour was over, I was sad to see her go. I highly recommend!!

appalling! this tour is just a commercial venture to get t you to buy things. the tour guide slept on the way to Mekong delta, had no interest in educating us about Vietnam and the custom in the delta. she then cut the tour short and slept all the way back. will not recommend this tour to anyone. it has the potential to be an excellent tour.

I went on the one day Mekong Delta tour and was very satisfied with the services on this company. Our guide Pham Xuân Tháo spoke very good English and her explanations were very clear. She is obviously an experienced tour guide. Her assistant Huyên was very good too.The minivan driver was safe and punctual.I enjoyed the variety of the activities during the day. The Vietnamese lunch was excellent. I also appreciated the small group size 12. Overall a very good experience.

Nice day trip with a very small group.This day trip was full of items to see and to do : bicycles, long trip on Mekong river, small river ride, fruit and honey tasting, with a fish meal by the Mekong river. Our guide was fluent english it's not always the case. Nice excursion !

The Best option for one day trip when you travel to ho chi minh city .Great value for money .Everything was perfect.Fantastic tour!!! Had so much fun! Our tour guide was brilliant, great sense of humour and very witty! She kept us all entertained : Really enjoyed this amazing cultural experience! Great insight into Vietnamese life on the Mekong Delta. Definitely a must-do tour!
