Our guide/ driver was Mel. We can’t say enough good things about him. He shared Hawaiian history, folklore, and personal stories. We were traveling with another couple with a disabled husband. Mel was gracious and extremely helpful getting him on and his scooter on and off the bus. Definitely recommend Mel and this tour.

Very Good Tour

We arrived in Hilo on the Holland America Noordam, and the company picked us up at the port making the connection very easy. Our guide and driver was Eddy, a Hilo native who was very knowledgeable about the island and local surrounds. The tour delivered as promised iwth visitation to local gardems and parks as well as numerous stops around the rim of the Kiluea volcanoe. My only complaint is that the van was definiotely older that I used to on Viaotr sponsored tours. Also the headset Eddy used squelched a lot. The tour provided everyone sandwiches and water, which we could eat at time of our making. I would recommend this tour.

Our guide, Cindy, was excellent. We walked to the cauldera, steam vents, lava tubes and waterfalls. Nice, full day tour at a reasonable price.

So much more than just a Volcano stop

The volcano was amazing. We stopped at multiple places sell steam Vince saw the actual Volcano bubbling. Red stopped at other areas in the volcano national park, and then the tour went on to five other great things the gardens were great. The chocolate factory was great lunch That was great. Nice day.

Typical rushed Viator tour

Typical Aviator tour. Pick up point on confirmation had changed a year ago. Guide had to call people who went to previous stop. Too many “kickback” stops to buy candy, nuts and souvenirs. Most people stood around the van waiting to leave and would have appreciated more time at the volcanos. Too rushed and too long at 8 hours. Stop for lunch was at a convenience store so we could buy a pre-made sandwich. It was 4 hours before we finally got to volcano park which was only an hour from our ship. We stood in the sun to eat. Save your money. Take a taxi to the park and read the information provided at the park.

If you want to see Hilo and than go up to the Volcanoes this is your tour to take. Guide Warren and the driver were on top of everything. The fissure eruption of 2018 which destroyed many homes was well explained.

This is an excellent all day trip. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. The highlight is seeing the active volcano at night with orange glowing lava, very cool to see and the best reason to take this tour. The group on the tour was only 5 in number so it was truly personalized service. Other points of interest were waterfalls, walking through old lava fields and lava tubes, the Mauna Loa macadamia nut orchards and visitor center bought lots at their store, an orchid establishment, the Japanese gardens loved the Banyan trees, visiting Big Island Candy for free samples of candy and Kona coffee bought lots there too and visiting beautiful beaches. Not physically strenuous so the tour is suitable for anyone.

I booked this tour so my partner and I could experience a daytrip to the Big Island during our Hawaiian vacation. Our guide, Nate, gave us many options as to what we wanted to see and do. As luck would have it, only one other couple had booked the tour that day, so we were able to easily choose activities that interested us. Nate took us to Rainbow Falls, the statue of King Kamehameha, sea turtle watching at Richardson Beach black sand, and beautiful in its own right, Liliuokalani Park, the Big Island Candies and Mauna Loa chocolate factories, Akatsuka Orchid Gardens, and finally Volcanoes National Park, where we made stops at the Kilauea Iki Crater overlook, Thurston Lava Tube, the volcanic steam vents, and the Volcano Observatory, where we saw the lava flow from a good distance. Nate was not only friendly, but knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour for anyone looking to see some Hilo's best attractions. My partner and I had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back soon.

This tour was a small group tour for us since we went in the off season, which I love because then it can be even more personalized. Lance was pretty knowledgable about the area and the Big Island, so that was nice and we got to see the sights on the trip that we most wanted to. This was affordable and hit some pretty big highlights of the island all in one day!
