We are based in Hilo, on the east side of the island, and therefore, we provide hotel pick-ups only in the Hilo area. Our tour begins at 9:30 a.m., and pick-up times are as follows: Airport travelers: Pick-up at Baggage Claim D around 9:00 a.m. Cruise ship guests: Pick-up at the “Pre-Arranged Pick-Up” area around 9:00 a.m. Hotel guests: Pick-up in the hotel lobby between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. Please note that actual pick-up times may be slightly earlier or later depending on traffic and scheduling. We will contact each guest within 24 hours of the tour to confirm their specific pick-up time and location. We look forward to welcoming you soon. Mahalo!

Our driver, Mike, was so knowledgeable! He took us around Hilo; black sand beach, farmer’s market, King Kamahema statue, drove by Queen Liliuokani park, which was beautiful, and then to Rainbow Falls. Beautiful day to enjoy the falls and see rainbows. Be sure and don’t miss the optical illusion.
Volcanoes National Park was fascinating and amazing! Beautiful day for viewing even though no volcanic activity other than smoke! Mike embodied the spirit of Hawaii. Kind, thoughtful, looking out for others at every turn. Viator hires great guides here! Thank you Mike and kudos Viator.

Got picked up right at the cruise port. Went to a black sand beach. We stopped at a local market and got made to order sandwiches that we took to the Volcano Park. Saw the crater from two different locations. We walked two different trails throughout the park, which included a walk through a lava flow tunnel. The trip ended at a chocolate factory. Mike our guy, was very good and very knowledgeable about the area.

Mike was a good communicator, knows Hilo and gave us he history as well as what we were looking at. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. The clouds and fog made seeing the volcano negligible. It was not Mike's fault, we just drew a bad day on our cruise schedule. there was nothing anyone could do.

The visitor center is closed due to construction. Our driver did not narrate very much. The rainbow falls was beautiful, through congested at the time of day we stopped. The Volcano National park was as expected. The stops were good, but the walk through the desolation area was a bit longer than I expected. The lava tube was in a lush and tropical area, it was a bit crowded. The extra stops at the farmers market, sandwich shop for lunch to carry to the NP and the specialty candy store were added perks.

Excellent guided tour through a little bit of Hilo to the black sands beach and Rainbow Falls, out to the Volcano National Park, and down to the Thurston lava tube.
We had Auntie Karen (yes, that was really her name) who gave us an excellent tour. She added some personal touches and related some personal history that helped keep us entertained on the way and back.

So much fun! We were in a small group, 6 of us, so much better than 50 people being herded around. Our tour guide Marissa was a wealth of local info and a great storyteller. We had lunch at a local plate lunch restaurant, so good! The black sand beaches, craters, and lava tubes were amazing. We had a blast!

We lucked out with only six of us on this tour! Talk about a good time, our guide Marissa showed us the best of Hilo, seeing the volcano crater, lava tubes, rainbow falls and so much more. It was a fun day and Marissa made it entertaining and fun.

This is was an excellent tour to Volcano National Park, Rainbow waterfalls, and a lava tube. The tour guide, Auntie Karen, is a great storyteller, provided excellent information, and entertained the group. She gave us an appreciation of this amazing area.

Awesome tour. Mike was a great guide, Wendal was a great driver. We saw many nice places like Rainbow falls, King Kamehameha statue, Hilo black sand beach. The volcano national park was very nice, we went to different lookouts.

Karen is such a knowledgeable and personable tour guide. She provided a really fantastic experience full of stories and history!
Some of the sites are closed on Sundays like the cookie and macadamia nut factories, so be aware when you’re booking :)

For me and my husband was a goog experence! I visited Etna in Sicily, Teide in Tenerife, and other volcanoes in Island; as a point of comparison, it is a bit different, so it is worth visiting. Worth the money!

Our guide Rusty was absolutely amazing. She gave us heaps of information while driving the bus. She knows soooo much about Hilo, and Kona, and the rest of the island. The experience was good and we enjoyed the places we went to. However, two issues you need to address. Mike, the driver wasn’t at the pickup area at the port we were told to be at and sat around till we finally found him. Second, Mike took us to a small store to get sandwichs for lunch but store ran out of bread. Inexcusable to promise lunch and not ensure the place you’re taking us actually has food. Mike’s a nice guy but this was a big miss for us and we probably won’t use Viator again.
