Leah was very personable and gave a great local tour. Since we had a small group, she asked if we were interested in stopping at several local hot spots that were not on the original tour.

Alex did such a fantastic job. He showed us the must see places at the right time to avoid the crowds and we could tell he liked thee places too. I would tell anyone to do this. Pick up was so easy at the Port of Hilo as we were on the NCL Pride of America.

Pros: small group of 6. Driver Alex was great. Local native was very informative and accommodating. Took pictures of us at different spots. Took us to a few different additional places we wanted to go. Could not get a better guide. Stopped at some very beautiful places.
Cons: New Honda Odyssey van, was kinda cramped. Only one really nice high falls. Others were mediocre. Did not stop at the Boiling Pots stop as advertised. Said it was closed.
It was still a nice tour. I would recommend.

I apologize that you folks didn’t get to view boiling pots due to the closure but am sure glad Alex tried to make it up with some other stops.

My wife and I prepared for our first visit to Hawaii on a 10 day cruise around the islands. The NCL chat room on facebook unanimously recommended VIATOR. I took their advice, Mistake! We booked an excursion, Majestic Waterfalls. The itinerary for the excursion was significantly changed thecday before. We were not informed. On the day of the excursion, Mulahani tours (Who are these people?! ) informed us 15 minutes before we were to leave that our excursion had changed and we would be visiting 1 waterfall and a black sand beach would be substituted. We were asked, “do you still want to go”. We were not offered any financial compensation. I paid 402.00 for an excursion that did not provide what i paid for. Upon our return, i contacted Mulihani tours and they assured me our concerns would be discussed with organizers and the company (Viatour) i had paid 402.00. I was told we would be contacted. Thus far, there has been no resolution. I am hoping Viator will step up with the glowing recimmendation we received. Aloha Mr Lash, as we spoke on the phone I did let you know that it’ll take a few days to take care of this situation. You’ve now jumped the queue and you’ve received your partial refund. It was not a mistake to use Viator. You had a Choice to have not gone on any tour and have been refunded or to go on a volcano tour worth $200 more then you paid for your tour that would not be able to happen due to state closures (out of our hands). You chose to “do something” and You’ve said so yourself, you had a great time with the others. Sure do hope you change your thoughts of booking with Viator.

Great tour guide and beautiful day! Our group had a wonderful time exploring the beautiful island and waterfalls. Our visit to the Japanese gardens was a perfect ending to our day. I would highly recommend this tour!

The tour was perfect. We were able to see Akaka and Rainbow Falls while the weather was nice and cool with some rain ( a good thing). Alex was knowledgeable and entertaining. They were even able to accommodate us and add Kilauea.

This excursions was the best one so far while we have been on our Cruise. ALEX with Malahini Tours hit it out of the park. Very clean & comfortable van. Very informative about Hilo and Kona History. Very courteous. Numerous interesting stops and plenty of time for each. Picked up and dropped off right at the pier. Hands down an awesome tour!!!
