We picked our tour with Travceylon based on excellent reviews and were very happy with our choice. Our guide/driver Lakshan was waiting at the entrance to the port. He was a lovely guy, spoke good english and was a very careful driver. We managed to see elephants, crocodiles, and many birds. Lakshan managed to point out things that we didn't see for ourselves. I was expecting an uncomfortable journey (jeep all the way) but was pleasantly surprised at just how comfortable the journey was. Overall it was an excellent experience and all 6 of us enjoyed ourselves. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Firstly unlike other tours that pick you up in the comfort of an air conditioned car- this tour picked us up in a very bouncey jeep that crawled along the road at ants pace. Buses, bicycles you name it passed us! Then after travelling along a road for 25 mins- our driver turned around as he was lost! I tried to call the tour operator as it was so infuriating that we were SO slow and very uncomfortable. Whilst others on our cruise had a lovely 4 hr tour with comfortable transfers and lunch included. We on the other hand had an additional 2 hrs bouncing around in the jeep on the roads- with no lunch or breaks AND it cost us THREE TIMES MORE than anyone else paid!! Did we see much- no not really- but you can't blame the company nor driver for that. It is what it is, but the disorganization and time wasted was something I would NOT recommend. Oh and if you are from Australia- REALLY DO NOT BOTHER! We see crocs, Ibis, peacocks etc far closer than anything on this tour!

Our driver was good in getting us to and from Yala, but the vehicle did not provide proper seatbelts and seat headrests which can be dangerous. Our guide did not provide much explanation during the safari perhaps due his poor English skills which was disappointing as we expected a guide who can describe the park and animals during the safari. Also, he was unable to track the animals very well because we spotted animals before him, and often needed to request him to stop and backup the jeep. We did see a few animals, but overall the experience was somewhat underwhelming.

The ad said Toyota truck with English speaking guide. The truck was decrepit horrible suspension. Hardly running.
Guide did not speak English. Would point but could not tell us if itwasanelephant or bird we were looking for. We asked to be taken back to ship early but he didntunderstand. We are two 80 year olds and were injured due to the horrible potholes. We wish we had not gone.

Guide/tuk tuk driver was in training and did not speak English. Therefore, partnered with another driver who kept coming back to tell what we were seeing. The drivers were very nice, but could not answer any questions because I did not understand our English. It was frustrating for us and not as described by Viator

This safari offered a glimpse into the national park which contains local birds, deers,an assortment of creatures & the highlight was seeing elephants. Set your expectations since this is not a “safari” like in Botswana or S. Africa with the big 5. The roads are really rough & hard on the back but our driver & guide did their best to keep us safe & point out the highlights. The park is about an hour drive each way from the cruise port but we made it in plenty of time. Many of the animals were far away so hard to see or photograph but it’s an outdoor adventure which we always enjoy

A trip to Yala is definitely worth it as a shore excursion. Our guide didn’t do much for us, however. When we got to the park, he didn’t point out wildlife, but stopped when we asked him to so we could take pictures of what we spotted. He wasn’t knowledgeable, didn’t communicate, and was really more of a driver. He did do that well,, avoiding the ruts and bumps so my husband could manage his back problem.

Our trip to Yala was wonderful. The park is great and our guide from the nature park had an eagle eye and spotting so many animals we would've missed. We were fortunate to see elephants eight hands distance away. We also saw Komodo dragon, storks, water, buffalo, Peacocks, Crocodiles and so many others highly recommend,

The animals are more active in the early or later part of the day. The jeeps are required to stay on the path and when there is an sighting the road path gets very crowded and some jeeps do not move until the sighting is over.

The tour could have been better if we had gone later in the day instead of in the heat of the day as the wild life was fewer.
We had limited communication with our guide. An informative guide would have made for a better & more enjoyable experience over all.
