Very informative guides, fantastic view at the top. The lighthouse is unmanned but still functions. A challenging climb up narrow stairs, but there are staging areas along the way to take a break. Keep an eye on the wind speed for the day, as it can be too windy to go out on the landing at the top.

Glad to hear you had an enjoyable visit to Split Point Lighthouse and the lighthouse guides were informative.

Well worth the visit. Very informative and guides were on hand with extra stories/history. Easy and safe to climb.
Fascinating that it still is a working lighthouse.

We were lucky to visit on a sunny day. Very knowledgable staff. Awesome 360 degree views (obviously). Good climb up but very doable. Quite a bit of history to read. There were two other platforms that you can walk out to for a view back back to the lighthouse or out to sea.
There is also a cafe a couple of minutes walk down the road which had a good selection of meals and snacks

It seems that the Split Point Lighthouse operators do not provide third-party booking sites with current information on cancellations. We arrived with our pre-paid tickets, having driven two hours with our international visitors, to find the Lighthouse fully booked with school groups for the day on which we had booked. I will say that Viator were very prompt in providing a refund - but they can't give back the time, and we missed out on an experience we were all anticipating eagerly. More co-ordination between provider and booking service is required.

It’s not a tour or even a self guided tour as we were given no information to take with us of the history of the lighthouse etc. beautiful location and beautiful views though. If you loved the show, Round the Twist, you’ll get a buzz out of visiting their lighthouse.

Hi Jenny,
We're sorry if you were disappointed.
The experience you booked is described as :
'self -guided Tour: Discover the spectacular views from the balcony and the amazing stories of the lighthouse'.
You will have seen interpretive signage on each of the six landings describing the shipwrecks, the location and geography, the lighthouse keepers and locals of Aireys Inlet, communication methods of the time including flags and morse code, rescue techniques, and how the lantern operates; there are some 19 wonderful old historic photographs and the guides at the top and bottom provide interpretation to people who show an interest. We are always happy to chat with visitors like yourself who would like to find out more about the lighthouse. Why not return some time and we'd be very happy to chat with you about the history.
