I expected this bus to...

Debbie_G, Jan 2026
I expected this bus to travel more than a couple of Km's before heading back to where we got on, I don't feel like it gave us a thorough look around Noumea and we did more on foot. If I had have known this I would have chosen a different tour option

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Dear Debbie Our Hop-On Hop-Off bus offers a service that runs every 20-25 minutes, all day, and makes it easy for passengers to check out 6 locations around Nouméa at their own pace. These destinations include. We have 3 buses with special access to handicap people (access with whellchair) ➊ Nouméa's Morning Market, ➋ Port-Plaisance shopping mall, ➌ Lemon beach swimming & snorkeling, ➌ Lemon beach Restaurants & Cafés , ➍ Nouméa's Aquarium / 🍔Burger King ➎ McDonald's / WW2 Memorial. 2 of our green Hop-On Hop-Off buses are fully air-conditioned and wheelchair friendly. Our staff will unfold the ramp for the wheelchair to go up the bus. For the run trip nearly 20-25 on bus, It's impossible to walk around the whole area in 20 minutes; you'd need about 2 or 3 hours one way. Cordially Lyvai

Touring

LeeAnn_S, Nov 2025
Driver was bit heavy on the brakes. Tour was shorten by road closures Other than that was nice to view e everything to see n when to get off

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Hi LeeAnn, Thank you for your feedback on this activity Hop-On Hop-Off buses. The route was indeed shortened due to a local demonstration, and the police had informed us of the chosen itinerary. To avoid you being caught in the procession, a new route has been selected. Thank you for your continued trust, and please feel free to contact us for your future stays in New Caledonia. Lyvai (Red Team)

Wasn’t what we were expecting

elizabeth_d, Oct 2025
It was well organised to give in vouchers for ticket but driver drove fast and did not tell us about the stops and we did the whole trip back to start but nothing was explained

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Sorry for this feedback and this rating, the hop-on hop-off products are not a guided tourist product, however when you purchase there is a map available or to download, in addition on the bus you have the information on the different points of interest of your stops read on the bus by the car radio. Thank you for your confidence in our tourist products offered by Lyvai

Not much to see

Veronica_C, Oct 2025
Only 3 stops and they are not very interesting. Not much to see. A beach, an aquarium and a lookout. Our ship docked a non market day. Shame

Not what we expected

Michael_J, Feb 2025
This was not the sort of bus where you get a good look around. It’s more of a shuttle bus. There was no commentary and no effort to introduce you to the area.

Convenient way to see Noumea

Fercen_C, Dec 2024
Comfortable, fully airconed buses, stops at the main sights in the city, we didn't wait too long at the stops.

VERY poor service

Susan_K, Apr 2024
The worst experience ever. I chose to use Viator to save time and hassle. In this case it added both and I was afraid to even use the service. I told the man I was afraid to trust them to get me back in time since they couldn’t pick me up in a timely manner. He told me “we should get you back in time” hmm not real reassuring. I will no longer use Viator and feel compelled to give an appropriate review

Convenient bus

Fercen_C, Jan 2024
Ticket pickup was quick after presenting voucher. Plenty of buses, easy to use and get aroud, no hassles at all. Take photo of the circuit map when picking up the tickets, it'll help you know where the stops are, so that you know where to get off and get back on.

Good quality, as expected.

Hanno_R, Dec 2023
Everything was as expected. The bus was available and it stopped at all of the required locations. The wifi wasn't that good though.

Hardly worth the time and effort getting off the boat, if that's all New Caledonia has to offer I won't be back anytime.

Christopher_M, Dec 2023
We arrived at the pick-up point and got on the first bus, NICE. Aircon, wifi was as good as it gets. Dropped at the Duty Free which didn't have enough shops to warrant more than a 10 minute stop, then onto Lemon Bay, nice enough beach if you want a swim to cool down, next stop was the Aquarium(didn't go as we had recently been to Sea Life in Mooloolaba), Anse Vata Bay(again just another place to cool down. Went for a look at the markets which are very over priced, not much variety, vendors smoking(maybe no restrictions in New Caledonia). Last stop was the Museum which we decided to skip due to everything that had thrilled us already, back to the boat within the hour. Tour map makes it look like you go a lot further but you could probably walk the whole route in around 2 hours. After bus one, no aircon or wifi in any of the other buses that we used.

Julie_B, Sep 2023
Only 4 stops! Not really a hop on hop off experience. Probably would have seen more by catching a town bus.

Don’t book

Jennifer_M, Sep 2023
I was not able to find the location to get on the bus when we got off our cruise ship, I walked around Noumea for 1 hour asking if anyone knew where it was. I had no mobile device so couldn’t search, I thought it would be nearby. Once we found a place to get one we waited another 30 mins and when it arrived it was full and was not able to get on, so had to wait another 20 mins. I. Had booked and paid for a ticket, to then find out the buses were full of people that hadn’t even purchased a ticket.

Limited Stops that didn't interest me.

Margaret_H, Jul 2023
Took a mini route of the Green Train trip. No Stops at either Saint Josephs Cathedral of the Museum across the road from the Markets. Very disappointing.

Poor Service

RPSA_2, Dec 2022
I had great hope with hop on off bus. I was thinking to explore as many places as I can. Tour guide did explain us the last bus will be at 03:00 PM and bus frequency will be 25-30 minutes. We took the bus around 10:00 AM reached lemon bay spent there time and at around 11:45 waited to catch another bus. Then we waited and waited next bus came around 01:30. So obviously many people watitng for so long and bus was overfilled. As soon as we left lemon bay one more bus started to follow us. SO our bus was overfilled and the bus right behind us was completely empty. When I get to Mcdonald as all of us were starving, and then waited for next bus same story is repeated. So literally we walked from Mcdonald to the city center to get back to our cruise ship! We spent so much money just to get two small rides. We could have explored much more and had much better experience if they could have provided service as advertised. It seems there is no concept of punctuality with Lvyei bus services. I won't advise people to use this ervice but what other option you have.

Good but not great.

Manish_R, Dec 2022
Good way to visit multiple places with hop on and hop off bus. Only thing is that unlike other hop on hop off buses in other countries, it was missing the open part on level 1. It was all closed like a normal bus.

Perfect for a short stay

Margaret_P, Dec 2022
Being short on time it was a good way to see a highlight of Noumea, especially the markets are not to be missed

Jump on board and see the sights

Vivienne_L, Dec 2022
An easy way to see several areas in Noumea. Unfortunately we were there on a Monday and many shops, museums etc were closed but it was still nice to walk around the beachfront and cafe area in Lemon Beach and also at Anse Vata Bay.

Only good as transportation!

Jared_B, Dec 2022
If you want to shop or go to beach this is the way to go. Cheap. Get what you pay for. Air conditioned bus to several stops but nothing to see and no info about island.

Hop on this one!

Mark_J, Dec 2022
