It is definitely the tour to take!! Very informative for a very low price. Our tour guide Julia was amazing, super friendly and very polite. All the information we needed was provided by Julia. The tour was full of historic stories about noumeas past and present. Do yourself a favour and jump on the green train.

The commentary and route were good.
The driver and his coordinator were very friendly and pleasant.
The not so good that made the joining less enjoyable were:
- We were squeezed four adults per seat, which was very tight.
- I have a MCL knee injury thus bending my knee while sitting in the squeezed position with little legroom was agonising painful.
- Another person had a knee meniscus operation, all strapped up, and he was in extreme pain during the ride.
- The seats were very hard and there was not a lot of space between the seats.
- The ride was scheduled for departure at 10:15, but only departed at 10:25, as all seats had to be filled before departure.

we have taken note of your feedback and would like to clarify a few points. While the train has a maximum capacity of 60 passengers, we limit sales to 50 seats to ensure everyone is seated comfortably; occasionally—and through no fault of our own—we have passengers of larger build.
Regarding the 10-minute delay you mentioned, we ask for your understanding, as passengers with reduced mobility sometimes require a little extra time to board; however, no further tickets are sold after the initial count.
The desk office Lyvai provides the train supervisor with the passenger count, and the driver must collect tickets and verify that everyone is present before departure.

I do not think the excursion abord the FAMOUS GREEN TRAIN LYVAI you went on deserves a rating of 1 out of 5 star for product quality..

Open Air train was nice. Was supposed to be two 10 minutes stops, but we only had one and it was supposed to be an hour and 30 minutes and we were back in an hour 15 minutes..

Thanks for the update (4 STARS) I’m glad to hear the open-air train itself was nice, but it sounds like the timing didn’t quite match what was advertised. Missing one of the stops and returning earlier than expected must have been a bit disappointing, especially if you were looking forward to the full experience.
Hopefully the overall ride still made it worthwhile, but it might be worth raising the discrepancy with the operator.

While the train ride was nice and a lot of information on the island was given, we were very disappointed that we paid for the itinerary that included two stops, one being a 10 minute stop at Anse Vata Beach that they did not stop at. They were constantly telling you about the HOHO bus stops wanting you to purchase that also. When I questioned the guide about our stop there, she was rather short in her answer that we were not stopping there and that is why she was giving us all the bus stops and that would be the way to get there.

Simple tour is what we wanted and this was perfect! Easy to find, started and ended on time, great views, and our guide shared wonderful tidbits of history.
Really enjoyed it and glad I pre-purchased because they were full and many people got off the ship to buy on site. Fun 1.5 hours to learn a bunch.

The tour itself was great, the pre tour was very disappointing. Not clear guidelines where to check in. Once I was at the right check in point the gentleman advised that our tour time had been moved to a later time. I advised I had two small children in our group and that we picked that time. The gentleman offered free hop on hop off bus which we could not use due to later tour time & having small children. I provided feedback to the tour company who basically fobbed me off.

As the manager informed you, a second cruise ship arrived at the maritime station due to deteriorating weather conditions in Vanuatu. This was not planned, and we had to accommodate two cruise ships on the same day of port call, even though the second ship was originally scheduled for the following day, and the other customers had also booked this activity.
The manager give you 7 HOP-On HOP-OFF free for this 45 minutes late.

A fabulous way to see some of the sites of Noumea (edpecially on a Sunday). Our guide Anna and driver Captain Henry were great value. Commentry was well thought out and easy to understand. The volume of the commentary was very good and was easily heard in the back row of the ladt carriage. Anna was helpful with assisting guests in having photos taken. A great tour for all ages. Thanks for giving up your day of rest to enable tourists to enjoy your town.

An absolute must when in Noumea!!! Clean, prompt and just the right amount of time to get a clear overview of this beautiful island. And pickup was right outside the doors of the cruise port!!

We had only one stop was disappointing would love to have stopped at a couple of other places. The trip was advertised for 90 minutes but was only 75 minutes

The duration of this excursion aboard our FAMOUS GREEN TRAIN varies depending on traffic, but normally the maximum duration is 90 minutes.

We arrived at 2:50 for a 3:30 train. We did not leave until 3:50. They overbooked and were only letting on large groups. People who turned up at 3:25 with a group of 17 were allowed on and small groups of 2 or 3 were not allowed to board despite waiting for a longer period of time. A second train came at 3:45. Again, large groups of people who had just turned up were boarded before all the people who had waited since before 3.
The tour itself was great with fabulous commentary throughout but the queuing was disorganised and the tour was 70 minutes, not the advertised 90.

we have taken note of your dissatisfaction; however, we would like to address the organization during your stopover. Indeed, there were over 100 people booked for this activity "THE FAMOUS GREEN TRAIN", and we only have one secure parking space for the Green Train.
We had to proceed with boarding the first departures at 3:30 pm, and then as soon as that train left, the second arrived for a 3:45 pm departure.
We are unable to run both FAMOUS GREEN TRAINS simultaneously. We apologize again for this inconvenience.

Make sure they're running we turned up after paying in full to be disappointed that they didn't have a train running at the time we were confirmed to be booked on staff unhelpful now trying to get a refund which is proving to be difficult

Hello, I am sorry for this feedback, the departures of our FAMOUS Green Trains depend on the arrival of the cruise ship, on the morning boats the departures are set at 9:30am / 10:15am / 11:00am and the last at 1:30 pm, for arrivals in the afternoon ships departure only at 3.30 pm. I also reassure you that if the guided tour is canceled you are refund 100%, but do not forget that if you paid on the Viator platform it is up to this website to reimburse you because your money is positioned on the website Viator. I booked on line, received detailed map how to find ticket table. His as great as I was on a cruise ship, we took the shuttle from he ship to the port, without the directions I would have spent a lot of time looking for them. Good value for the price, gave a good overview and the guide pointed out places to visit after the ride.
