This experience was amazing! If you are someone who treats dining as a hobby, the private chocolate experience is a must. We are so glad we went with this more intimate, more thoughtful chocolate tasting over the other options for chocolate tours in Ghent. Dorien is incredibly kind and clearly cares about the nuances of chocolate. We were so impressed by her knowledge and had multiple fantastic chocolates paired with interesting, delicious ingredients. We loved that Dorien gave us an opportunity to personalize our experience to our tastes before we arrived. We feel like we got to experience something truly unique with multiple niche tastings (such as cacao tea and fruit). This experience was our top highlight of our stay in Ghent, could not recommend it more. :)

Excellent, Educational Tasting

We had an amazing time learning about chocolate! Dorinne (sp?) was an excellent instructor…Uber knowledgeable and passionate about chocolate! The instructional area was comfortable and cozy. We tasted multiple chocolates…and different elements of the cacao processing stages. We also appreciated Dorinne and her partner’s (Leo) approach to supporting the smaller business in the craft. Highly recommend this experience!

Fantastic chocolate tasting experience

This was a wonderful experience with Dorien. She spent an unhurried 2 hours sharing with us the world of chocolate in her adorable shop in Ghent. We learned so much (about bean-to-bar chocolatiers versus traditional chocolatiers, growers, industry standards, etc) and tasted some excellent chocolate and drink pairings. You will get plenty of chocolate! There are many, many chocolate shops in Belgium and differentiating which ones are special is hard as a visitor. After our chocolate tasting at Chocolat Ambassade (her shop), we can definitely appreciate the differences more! This is a great opportunity to learn from a lovely small business owner. If you're having trouble finding her, look for the shop by name: Chocolat Ambassade.

Great experience with lots of chocolate and more

The tasting experience was great. We tasted lots of different chocolates and accompanying drinks (homemade liqueur, chocolate tea..) and also got to learn about and taste other parts of the cacao. The cacao fruit was delicious! Doreen was very nice and made us feel at home. We learned a lot of interesting things but weren’t overloaded with information :)
