Our guide Arthur has a wealth of information to share about Galway and he made history come alive! Instead of us trying to find historical landmarks by ourselves, Arthur led us to cool sites and gave us awesome background info! As a native of Galway, Arthur has great inside info on Galway's history and he made learning fun for our 13 year old son!

My adult daughters and I had a lovely tour with guide Arthur! We learned so much about Galway history, as well as suggestions on other things to do and see in the city. I will say that Arthur is somewhat of a celebrity in town - we were stopped by several lovely Galway locals for a greeting and bit of a humor! Arthur is a gem - we highly recommend the tour with him! Arthur was a great guide. He really showed us what people miss when they just walk around Galway. It was fun to hear about his experiences in Galway including the Kennedy visit in 1963.

My wife and I were so fortunate and blessed to have Arthur as our private guide in Galway. He is a true expert as he was born and raised in this town and he loves it, and you can tell. We learned more from him, told to us with wonderful stories you will most likely not get from anyone else. We have both used guides all over this planet, and I don’t think any have been as sincere, professional, and wise as Arthur. We will return to Galway, and much of that is because of him, and when we do, we will be making contact with him. The weather didn’t cooperate but Arthur was a true champ. We had a wonderful time learning about the history of Galway, getting the low down on numerous noteworthy landmarks and hearing about Arthur’s own experience growing up in the area. He loves this corner of the world and boy does it show. Despite the (not unexpected) wet and dreary day, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this tour to all Galway first timers.

Arthur was an excellent guide as being a lifelong Galway resident. We learned and saw so much with him. I would definitely recommend him to anyone planning a personal tour. He was able to answer all our questions and had some great stories. It made us look at the details on buildings to figure out what time period they were built or who the residents were that built it originally.

We were lucky enough to get Arthur as our tour guide of Galway. This was one of my favorite tours in Ireland. Arthur was so personable and detailed on the history making it informative, but fun. I feel we saw details that we would not have seen if we weren’t with him. Galway was one of our favorite cities. This is definitely a do not miss Tour.

Arthur is the real deal. As a man, I can say he’s the kind of guide you respect instantly — knowledgeable, genuine, and grounded. He took me through the Spanish Quarters, the old city walls, and the docks, weaving in the history of the Tribes of Ireland with ease and authority. We started in sunshine, got hit with rain, and then were back to blue skies — all four Irish seasons in one tour — and Arthur never missed a beat. He’s the guy who makes you feel like you’re seeing Galway the right way. And ladies, take note: he’s a true Irish gentleman, so you’ll feel completely comfortable and taken care of. My wife and I booked this private tour of Galway hoping to learn more deeply about the history and people that shaped this city. We were incredibly fortunate to be guided by Arthur, dual qualified as a long-time native of Galway and licensed tour guide. Our tour maintained a relaxed pace as we discovered multiple examples of Galway’s history dating as far back as the 13th century, most of which are hidden in plain sight. Arthur was abundantly patient and generous with his time as he answered our many questions along the way and, to our delight, shared some of his own history from childhood through adulthood, connecting some of these recollections to the structures we were viewing. He is a genuine Galway treasure and this tour is a great way to get a foundational course in Galway history.

Fantastic and so informative! There are hidden gems all around the city that we never would have noticed or known the stories of if it wasn’t for our fantastic tour guide, Arthur! He was so knowledgeable since he’s lived in Galway his whole life. He was also was very patient with us as we had our 5 month old daughter with us. Highly highly recommend!
