We learned about mythical creatures and not so much the actual stories. The guide was fun and knowledgable.
Mary Murphy was great. We really enjoyed her and the tour. My only advice is perhaps take a few more rest breaks (sitting) when you have older people participating.
It was a fun little tour of Galway! We got to see some pretty spots and learn some history and mythology. Our tour guide was very nice too. We were a bit lost trying to find the meet up point but she actually went out of her way to walk around the buildings and find anyone who may have been looking! Went above and beyond and we appreciated that!
I couldn't find the group at first and was lost over an hour due to faulty GPS directions on the site. The guide was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed his story telling however due to other members of the group was running late and we ended up having to rush through the entire thing. It felt rushed and at times the guide was walking so fast I couldn't catch up. There were times he would be on the other side of the street walking and not looking back for the half of the group that wasn't there yet. I did learn some cool facts though and got some good recommendations.

I am sorry that you came away with a negative impression, but I would like to clarify a few important points for future guests reading this review.
Unfortunately, you arrived at the meeting point approximately one hour before the scheduled start time, which is why you could not find the group. The GPS location provided in the booking information is correct and was successfully used by the other 18 guests who joined the tour that day.
You called me around 15 minutes before the tour began, concerned that you could not find us. At that point, you were actually only a short distance away and I was able to see you and help direct you towards the group.
During the tour, I also made a considerable effort to accommodate your walking pace. I slowed the tour down and waited at each stop so that you could remain with the group rather than asking you to leave the tour. We regularly welcome older guests and people with limited mobility and many of our reviews mention the care we take to make our tours as inclusive as possible.
At the end of the tour, I also spent close to ten additional minutes with you personally, answering your questions and giving you recommendations for your time in Galway.
For these reasons, I do not feel that the experience described in your review accurately reflects what took place. I completely understand that the walking pace and circumstances that day may have made the experience difficult for you, but throughout the tour I made every reasonable effort to ensure that you could participate and enjoy it alongside the rest of the group.
I am nevertheless glad that you found the tour knowledgeable and I wish you all the best with the rest of your travels.

Candela is a very kind, knowledgeable and friendly tour guide - she has excellent energy and charisma, with a great sense of humour; she kept the entire group well informed and entertained throughout the two hour tour. As someone with a strong interest in Irish and Celtic mythology and language, Candela was the perfect guide to introduce some of Galway's most important historical spots, wildlife, and stories behind the architecture. In just two hours people on the tour had enjoyable conversations and insights, and I discovered nice areas of the city to visit. Her tours are highly recommended!

She had very few stories, tour time was primarily walking between 5-6 sites with guide only talking at these sites. I suggest getting a book instead and walking around on your own.

Our Celtic Mythology Tour is intentionally different from a standard historical walking tour. Rather than providing constant commentary while moving between stops, we guide guests to a series of fascinating locations around Galway that most visitors would never discover on their own.
At each stop, we spend approximately 10–15 minutes exploring the myths, characters and traditions connected to that place. Irish mythology is rich and layered, and each story often involves multiple characters, interconnected sagas, and historical context that take time to unfold properly.
The experience is designed around the tradition of Irish storytelling and a deeper exploration of Celtic mythology, rather than continuous narration while walking between locations. While we understand it may not suit every taste, many guests specifically choose the tour for this immersive style.

Very thorough and informative! This is such a great way to start a trip to Galway and Ireland. I would highly recommend this tour for the lovely views, friendly and knowledgeable guide, and great walk through a beautiful city.

Candela was amazing at giving the tour. I really liked that it was something different than the traditional tours, and also really loved the mythology around Galway and Ireland. Would definitely recommend this tour!
Highly recommend it! It was very interesting and the tour guide was such a sweet heart! We had a blast during the whole tour and learned about the history of Galway. If you go to Galway you have to check this tour out! Only thing I would say is make sure you bring an umbrella!
An interesting combination of myth and history. Calenda was very personable and approachable, well-versed in Galway lore, with a dose of sly humor as well. We toured off the beaten path, not the typical tourist sites, and got a good sense of the Irish sensibility for the magical and enchanting. It was a very enjoyable tour!
We had a great time, Candela was an amazing storyteller! She was so engaging, and wove a beautiful story. We learned about celtic myths and irish history all in one! Highly recommend!
Our guide was a true storyteller. And she knew so much. We walked all around Galway and i developed a sense of the people, the history and the neighborhoods.

Great walking tour with some great info about Celtic history. Was a good option for my spouse, me, and my mother in law to enjoy together. Walking and standing but not strenuous!

It was a walking tour so wear comfy shoes. Candela was very bice welcoming and knowledgeable. She did a great job telling us both sides of the various tales of the mythology. She also recommended a fabulous spot for dinner. McSwiggans, where we had a great meal to finish the day.
