Had an amazing time on this tour with our guide Khalid. He was a very experienced driver and showed us some great thrills dune bashing. He was very accommodating of all our requests and very knowledgeable about the dessert and all the other attractions along the way.
The only disappointment was, we did not get in see the inland sea. The waters enter the dessert only during certain months of the year and the water had already receded when we went in Spring. I wish this was clearly mentioned somewhere. I was really looking forward to seeing it and was quite disappointed. We would still have done this tour and still had as much fun, but we would have gone with the right expectations.
This was still a 5 star tour. Everything worked like clockwork - very well organized with a great tour guide. Highly recommend!!

Dune bashing, camel riding and finishing it watching the Arabian sunset. A great way to spend and afternoon in Doha . My guide was knowledge and pointed out the sights enroute.

Had an amazing time from start to finish with Mujahid as our tour guide. His experience showed in the dunes with his awesome driving skill given that it was so windy. Accomodating and a great sense of humour when it came to the sand boarding. Well worth every dollar and more!

So all in all, the tour was very inclusive of lots of desert fun. This took place during the world cup, so (per the fine print) they did not pick up from your hotel. we had to take a 30-minute uber ride to a metro station outside the city. Our tour guide contacted me the day before to inform me that it would be better to start the tour an hour early due to the timing of the sunset that time of year. I thought this was a request and luckily had no conflicting plans because this wasn't a request or up for negotiation.
When we arrived at the metro station there was confusion about which passengers went in which truck. Once packed (like sardines, 6 + the driver in a jeep, I felt super bad for the two 6" plus guys stuck in the back row), we took off on a 30-minute silent trip to our first destination. There was no explanation, refresher of the itinerary, or introductions. Our driver was very nice but I think it would be helpful to have some detailed words at the beginning of the trip.
Our first stop was at a camel farm. You literally hop on a camel, are walked out about 100 feet, take a picture, and return to the farm. If this is your only time to ride a camel in the desert, it's a pretty lackluster experience.
Next, we race off into the desert, up and down and around dunes. This was a cool and sometimes scary experience.
Then we take a quick photo op at an inland sea, then we head to my favorite part... a hill for sandboarding. Partially organized, no formal instruction. Just sit down (barefoot is best), hold on tight and you're off.
Lastly, we head to the Persian Gulf sea where you can see Saudia Arabia off in the not-so-far distance while you wait for the sun to start to set. We headed out of the desert before the sun fully set (likely to avoid the darkness but one could only assume because as mentioned, they were very short on words).

I enjoyed the sand dune ride. Very exciting. Too hot for sand surfing. Camel ride was good. Guide Muhammad was just ok. Very kind and attentive at various stops and such but didn’t narrate while we were driving unless we asked questions.
