In February 1942, the North Australian city of Darwin was bombed by Japanese forces. With this two-for-one deal, cruise around the Darwin waterfront on the Bombing of Darwin cruise, sailing by landmarks like the wreck sites of the SS Neptuna and USS Peery; then visit the historic Royal Flying Doctor Tourist Facility and hear the local stories of those air raids. Don’t organize these two attractions separately; book in advance and confirm them for the same day.

The Flying doctors part was great, interactive and value for money, as well as educational. The harbour cruise was disorganised, they had no idea about the rest of the booking (if you are going to use a third party partner, you need to be across bookings as the 'tourist' has no idea and is trusting you). I found the cruise narrator to be disrespectful of Military people, allowed his personal political bias to come out in his narration and a couple of things to be racially - questionable...

The harbor cruise was very nice and informative. It was a great precursor to the Bombing of Darwin Experience. The combination of the two was excellent to learn about Darwin’s involvement in WWII.

The Royal Flying Doctors Service Museum was small, but the virtual reality presentations and the holographic shows made up for the small space. The Bombing of Darwin Experience was a unique Virtual Reality format and well worth doing. The harbor cruise was less exciting, and though you got a view of a few historical sites from the water, most of those are within easy (and free) walking distance.

The holographic cinema experience set the scene for the interactive 8 minute bombing of Darwin Harbour. The skies and the harbour were brought to life by this amazing virtual experience. And to set it all off was the Darwin Harbour cruise highlighting the areas of bombing attacks. Docked at the wharf was the HMAS Stalwart plus two new Navy Patrol Boats.

Before this tour we had no idea that Australia was even bombed during WWII. The harbour cruise and commentary was well done. Following that we went to the nearby Royal Flying Doctor and Bombing of Darwin visitor centre. The movies and Virtual Reality experiences really helped bring the history to life. This was a unique tour for someone who likes history.

The boat guides were very engaging and I really enjoyed the tour. The bombing experience and RFDS centre was excellent. You need to allow about 90 mins at least for this bit. Its very interactive.

Learning the history of Darwin Australia was phenomenal. It is the history we Australian’s should be taught in school!!!
We went to all the areas that were bombed by the Japanese and where a ship went down after being bombed.
The speaker was informative and interactive.
The trip around the bay in the boat was amazing, with the aqua waters and the sun shining
