Thoroughly gorgeous trip on a huge beautiful billabong. Water birds, lots of crocs, water buffalo and magestic sea eagles

My husband and I have done this tour many times (hubby is up to 9) with friends, family or just us. We love what this tour can be, Picturesque, Humbling, Beautiful, Majestic and worth every penny if you like nature and seeing our wonderful animals in their element, better if you dabble in photography. Cant recommend it enough, especially when they go further up the river systems.... However out of all the tour guides we've had and there's been a few different ones, I didnt rate this guy as knowledgeable or entertaining as previous guides. He didn't go to far up the river systems so missed seeing things we knew were farther up. He put his arm over the side into the water to grab a lotus leaf and waffle on about the studies being used for silk production, bullet proof vests and various other items while we had nothing to look at except crappy long grass.. Ahh croc infested water, warning at start not to do exactly what he did! Then went straight past the only buffalo right on the water edge to sit at a section of river for so long to watch the sunset (it wasnt even close to setting so the glare impeaded any ability to see for at least 20min). Saying all that, 1 not so great guide out of 9 trips will not stop us going again,, STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE TOUR. For us we will check which guide is on before booking!

Hi Jessica, thanks for your review and also your feedback on the guide. We are aware of the issue with the guide that took your cruise and have addressed the matter. A mixture of mental health issues and a change in medication after a recent knee operation were the reasons why the guides performance on your cruise was less than satisfactory. He is a good guide usually and receives great reviews, i`m sorry that you did not get to see that side of him on your sunset cruise. Nature at its most Natural!

Could not have been happier with this cruise. We were spoiled with only having two other people on the cruise, I think being the wet season had put a few people off. Connie was our very experienced tour guide and captain, she sure knew exactly where to look to see all the wonders the billabong had to offer, and boy does she have good eyes! She was amazing at cruising up to a good spot and just letting the boat settle so as not to disturb the wildlife in any way, allowing us to see the wonders of the billabong at it truest. Highly recommend doing this..you even get to see plenty of wildlife on your journey to and from the jetty!

This tour was just simply the best. Small group of people, probably less than 20, but could be more I guess during high season. Our guide, Allen, was excellent. Nothing was rushed. We saw so much and the thing he did was to go from side to side showing us crocs, birds, bird nests, oh and so much more. I thought we wouldn't see so much of the birdlife because of the season, but I was pleasantly surprised. Even the flora was amazing. I'd love to see this area in full flood, I think it would be even more spectacular, but then again, I wouldn't think the tours would be running as it would be slightly! dangerous.

The Billabong is completely different in Wet season and you are right the car park becomes part of billabong so even we stay out of there. 😂👍
