Did this tour in the wet season but still covered lots of places of interest & had a croc free dip! A well organised trip - the bus was air-conditioned, had an esky to keep our food cold & plenty of cold water to refill drink bottles. Daryl was a great guide & driver giving us enough information but not overloading us. We stopped at some great roadhouses to get supplies & well-timed rest stops! He also was great at ensuring everyone had a good time & did his best to drop everyone back near their accommodation.
Went to Fogg Dam, the Zebra stone centre, saw both types of Termite mounds, Florence falls & a lovely long stop at the Buley Rockholes for a refreshing dip. Also stopped at Wangi Falls on the way back, to see the amazing waterfall there - closed for swimming at present due to crocs - this is where they recently caught a 4.6m one!
Once you accept that at this time of year there will be limitations to what you can do, you enjoy all that you can do. Would love to come back in the dry season to see the difference.

Thank you for sharing your detailed experience! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour despite the wet season and appreciated the well-organized arrangements, from the comfortable bus to the supply stops. It's great that Daryl provided a balanced mix of information and fun, ensuring everyone had a good time and was comfortably dropped off near their accommodation. It sounds like you visited some fantastic sites like Fogg Dam, the Zebra Stone Centre, Wangi Falls, and Buley Rockholes, and enjoyed a refreshing dip at Buley Rockholes. We understand the limitations during the wet season, especially regarding croc safety at Wangi Falls, and appreciate your positive outlook on making the most of the trip. We look forward to welcoming you back in the dry season to experience even more of this beautiful region!

I did 2 different tours with Autopia Tours while in Darwin and really got a good insight in to the Top End. Our guide to Litchfield Park, Daryl, gave us loads of information on the area and covered a lot of ground in one day. Swimming at the rockpol was very refreshing. The jumping crocodile tour was an unforgettable experience. I really enjoyed the day.

We had a great day went to Fogg dam, lots of birds along the way.
Went to two different waterfalls with swimming holes, we didn’t swim but it looked like those that went in were enjoying themselves.
Lizards, birds, bats and other animals in the area.

Easy pick up and on time. We dropped some people off at the Croc Jumping and then went on to the Dam to bird watch. Sadly we only got out of the bus for 20 mins and drove past the real spectacle of water birds. We were told we couldn't get off the bus due to crocs, but we did see a bird watcher enjoying the designated viewing pontoons. So that was disappointing trying to take photo's behind glass and moving. We then returned to collect the Croc jumping crew. So about an hour wasted there going back & forth. We then travelled on to Litchfield National Park to the termite mounds. Not really our thing but the Dam & the Waterfalls were the real draw of the trip. The waterfalls didn't dissapoint. Be aware there are quite a few steps to access the first watefall but was worth the effort. A refreshing swim in the pool revived too. Our guide threw in an extra waterfall which was a short stroll away and again spectacular.
It was a long day but overall worth the effort & price.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thank you for providing such a detailed review of your tour. We're glad to hear that the pick-up was easy and on time, and that the waterfalls at Litchfield National Park lived up to your expectations, offering a refreshing swim and a spectacular extra stop. It's great that you felt the trip was overall worth the effort and price, despite it being a long day.
However, we sincerely apologize for the disappointing experience at the dam for bird watching. We understand your frustration at being unable to properly view and photograph the water birds due to being confined to the bus, especially when you observed others on designated viewing pontoons. This feedback about the "wasted hour" going back and forth for the Croc Jumping group and the limited access at the dam is very valuable and we will review our itinerary and procedures to ensure a better experience for all guests, particularly those interested in bird watching.
We also note your comment about the termite mounds not being "your thing," and appreciate your comprehensive feedback as it helps us understand diverse guest preferences. We're happy the waterfalls ultimately made the trip worthwhile for you! Vs.

My spouse and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was the right length with great variety that showed off the NT landscape and wildlife. Our guide and driver, Tim, grew up in Darwin and shared many personal stories of both the city and the nearby bush, including his own and his family experiences of Cyclone Tracey and its aftermath - it really helped make the experience memorable. Make sure to bring a water bottle - it doesn’t have to be a large one tho, as enough fresh cold water was provided onboard for much-needed refills.
Response from Host, Dec 2024
G'day Ian,
It sounds like you had a fantastic time on the tour!
Tim really seems to have made it extra special with his personal insights and stories.
Great tip about bringing a water bottle too! It's always good to stay hydrated, especially in the NT's climate, but it’s great to know they’ve got you covered with fresh refills on board.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience—it’s definitely one that many future travelers will appreciate!
Kind regards
