This is a beautiful afternoon-evening tour. Saw many different birds and a couple of wallabies. Spotted crocs lurking in ponds. If you are a keen photographer, this is definitely a tour for you. Geoff was my guide and he was so friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. On the way back, we stopped at the Humpty Doo pub. I can recommend the chicken parma. This adventure was stand-out activity.

Geoff goes out of his way to make sure you not only see as much as possible; he also is a great wildlife photographer and sent us all pics he took with his camera.

Excellent tour if you want some insight into the history of Darwin and the wetlands was amazing! Saw many species of birds, crocodiles, wild black pigs, wallabies, turtles and a beautiful sunset. Dinner at the pub was great. All round a great experience. Thanks Geoff you love your job and it shows with your knowledge and enthusiasm!

An extremely interesting informative tour.
Geoff is extremely knowledgeable
about the history of Darwin taking us to relevant
sites in an outside Darwin City.
We were driven in a very comfortable air conditioned mini bus to various wetland areas including Fogg Dam Conservation reserve where we had the opportunity to observe buffalo so many different species of birds an owl plus a few crocodiles! Close up through binoculars!
On our return to Darwin we stopped for lunch at the famous Humpty Doo Hotel!😀 I would recommend this excursion.

We did the Lookabout Darwin Wetlands and Wildlife Premium Evening Tour in May, 2026. Geoff was our guide. It was definitely one of the best tours we had while in Australia. Geoff is an excellent guide, giving us details about the history of the area while traveling to our site. His knowledge of the wildlife was exceptional. He pointed out unique animals, described their biology, and got us in position to take great pictures. Even after dark, by chance we were able to see a couple snakes on the road, further enhancing our experience. We finished with a fun dinner at Humpty Doo Hotel, great food and very relaxing. Geoff even had dinner with all of us on the tour and we enjoyed even more wildlife and natural history discussions. If we ever get back to Darwin, we will definitely do the same tour with him.

A highlight to our trip to Australia and to the great Northwest Territory. Communication and pick up from the cruise terminal were seamless. Geoff is a remarkable guide with a deep understanding of the area and its people. The areas he brought us to were beautiful and remote and not overrun by tourists. In addition to the many birds and wildlife, he was able to pinpoint the crocodiles, hiding in wait and not visible to the untrained eye. But best of all, Geoff is just a great guy, deeply interested in his passengers and curious about their lives and experiences. The meal and experience at the Humpty Doo was the cherry on the top! Don’t miss this tour.

We did this tour off a cruise ship. Geoff is knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't get to see a lot of buffalo and crocodiles but only because it was so wet. Great tour to do to get away from Darwin and see the wetlands. Would recommend to anyone

Our guide drove to various habitats around the Darwin area pointing out Water Buffalo, marsupials, birds and such. He shared a considerable amount of knowledge about the local history and the animals we saw.

This is one of the best tours I have ever taken. I learned so much about Darwin and the wildlife. If you have a question, Geoff has the answer. He knows where to go to see the wildlife, including but certainly not an all inclusive list, buffalo, crocodiles, wallabies, and all sorts of different birds. The dinner at the Humpty Doo Tavern was excellent and I felt more like I was having dinner with friends than being on a tour. Thanks Geoff for sharing your knowledge and showing us around Darwin.

Geoff is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a genuine guy. He made sure we all had a wonderful time showing us Fogg Dam's wildlife diversity. Between the crocs, birds, plant life and fighting wallabies, there's plenty to see. Got some beautiful sunset pictures too. And Humpty Doo - what a pub! great food at affordable prices plus friendly locals thrown in. Next step, try the vanilla slices recommended.

Being picked up and dropped off at your hotel makes touring so much easier. Geoff was a fabulous, friendly, humorous, considerate and knowledgeable guide! Comfortable Mercedes van that is easy to get in and out of, compared to those large coaches. Geoff is extremely knowledgeable and also takes great pictures which he happily shares with you! The whole experience including dinner at the Humpty Doo hotel was brilliant. Small tour groups are definitely the way to go! I highly recommend this tour!

What a wonderful experience! Geoff, who is a wonderful guide with endless knowledge of the area and it's history, picked us up from our hotel and we first drove around Darwin, learning if its history plus some interesting fun-fact anecdotes. We then continued toward the Wetlands and visited Fogg dam. As this was a sunset tour, we had the chance to see a vast selection of wildlife and we were lucky enough to see the Wetlands wake up at night with owls, crocs, toads and insane sunset views.
This was followed by a wonderful dinner experience at the loveliest Aussie pub in Humpty-Doo, where we were blown away by how welcoming and nice this small local community is.
This was a lovely afternoon/evening experience, perfect for those of us who don't like to wake up at impossible early hours for tour pick-ups :)

Excellent tour of the Fogg Dam. I must say it was one of the most memorable and informative trips we have had, while visiting the top end. Geoff was very enthusiastic pointing out birds and other wildlife and even taking photos for us and sending them the following day. Trip to Humpty Doo Hotel was a nice end to the evening with a chance to chat with Geoff. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in wildlife or photography.

It was exceptional! Geoff was so knowledgeable and shared the history of Darwin to us prior to reaching the reserve. He answered all our questions. I learned so much. Geoff took his time showing us the reserve and you can feel his enthusiasm for the reserve and ecosystem. Plus the food at the hotel was outstanding.
