Not happy in Da Nang

We were mislead thinking that we would get picked up at our hotel at 9am, based on the ticket information in the app. We were so looking forward to this experience. We didn't hear anything from the tour company or Viator leading up to the day. We were ready at 8:45 in the lobby of our hotel. When no one showed up, I attempted to contact the operator through the Viator app, no one responded. At about 9:15 I contacted Viator using the app. They said that last year when I booked, the tour company sent me a notification that I didn't book the pickup/drop-off so we would have to meet them at their office. Neither the tour company or Viator reminded me of that and in my bookings in the app, it showed that the pickup was at my hotel at 9:00 am. This was a misunderstanding that could have been prevented with communication. We have used Viator in several countries for our excursions, this is the first time that something like this has happened. They said that my refund would take 7-10 days to get back. I didn't want a refund, we wanted to go on the tour that we booked last year and was excited about it until this morning when we didn't get to go.

Dear Keith, Many thanks for your kind feedbacks and as you wrote that it is the misunderstanding of the booking, we are innocent. The package that you booked with us that the price is very low because not included pick up/drop off. And we sent you the booking confirmation but we did not mention about pick up/drop off as we misunderstood that you got aware for what you booked. After receiving the message from Viator, we made full refund to you as Viator's request. Any ways, we have learned this lesson to advoid any misunderstandings in the future. Excellent. Friendly people, loved to fish crabs in the boat. Very pretty tour boat. The food afterward is excellent too, we had a Cau Lau (Hoi An specialty). Free drop off at Hoi An old town afterwards.
