Mary was a lovely host sharing knowledge of donuts, Cork, and Ireland. I love that to go bags were encouraged vs having to eat it all at each stop. Mary did prepare us properly to save room for the last stop best eaten there.
If you are doing this with kids know that it’s more of a sweets vs just donut tour. All are lovely and yummy but set expectations that it’s not all donuts all the time.

Our tour guide Mary was so friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The tour was fun and informative on Cork history and also on modern day information. And most importantly it was delicious! We Loved how the donuts were not all traditional donuts and each stop was very different! Our fave was the Japanese donut followed by the Mexican one!
A great way to eat your way thru the city!

This was a very expensive walking tour (one of the most expensive activities we did while traveling Ireland for 2 weeks). We (family of five with kids ages 9, 11 and 15) had hoped for a fun historical walking tour. The content of the historical tour could have included more varied facts and stories. However, we heard the same factoids several times. When we asked our tour guide about the structure of the tour, she shared that she doesn’t have much control over it and she’s told what to cover. Our tour guide did her best given the constraints (we’d give her high marks!! She was great.) On top of that, donuts were just ok. Even for the kids, it was just too much sweets and towards the end of the tour, no one wanted to eat any more.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. ☘️ We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience in Cork didn’t live up to expectations—especially since Cork is typically one of our top-rated tours. It sounds like we missed the mark with your group, and we never like to leave our guests feeling that way.
We’re glad to hear your guide made a positive impression and did their best within the tour structure, but we’d really love the opportunity to make this right for you and your family. Please reach out to us directly at info@undergrounddonuttour.com
, and our team will be happy to assist.
Your feedback helps us improve, and we donut take it lightly. We hope we can turn this around and give you the sweet experience our guests usually rave about.

Mary Sol was great! She was very knowledgeable and fun. One of our stops was not available (not the guide's fault) and she was ready with an alternate location so everything went smoothly. Would recommend!

Paddy was a very knowledgeable guide who brought to life the world of Old Cork (and the donuts were pretty delicious also). He told us stories about the town that we could not have learned from the more typical bus tour and did it with a genuine enthusiasm. He was nice enough to walk us back to the train station (20 minutes away) to make sure we got off on time. I would strongly recommend this tour and Paddy to anyone interested in learning the inside story of Cork.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Thank you for the great review! We aim to please and great to hear Paddy was able to accompany you back to catch your train. We hope to see you again soon on another one of our tours. Cheers!

Response from Host, Jul 2024

Hope to see you again soon on another tour. Cheers
Bill_J, Jun 2024
The amount of “donuts” was over the top, and we had enough left overs for breakfast the next day.
It would have been nice if we would the guide would have been local as opposed to a Houston, Texas transplant. Her knowledge of Cork was good, but she did not have a historical perspective Ireland
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Thank you for the review! Great to hear your donuts kept going and going! We certainly aim to please. Hope to see you again on another one of our tours. Cheers!

Chloe was WONDERFUL. She was kind and patient with all our questions, passionate and informative. She took time with my handicapped parents and made sure all felt welcomed and included. Will definitely recommend this tour to anyone and hope they get Chloe!

What a great and unique experience for downtown Cork Ireland. Not only did we get to eat way too many donuts, but we also got to learn a ton about the city and Irish history !
Marysol, our guide, couldn't have been nicer! A transplant from Venezuela, living in Ireland for 12 years, she couldn't be more knowledgeable of Irish history, and history of the town of Cork, and all the buildings that we got to see. Found it especially interesting, learning more about the Irish revolution and in much more recent times, the Fighting of the IRA and the British government .
Recommend that you arrive hungry, as we got to stop at four different donut shops, always with wonderful offerings. First donut shop was Dolce bun, a vegan bakery / coffee shop that I am pretty sure represented traditional Irish creations. Next was Cameron's, where we had wonderful French croissants, with the owners being from France. Donut shop number 3 was called offbeat, where we picked up a Homer Simpson donut, and a pistachio donut. I'd characterize these tastes as somewhat more of a conventional American style donut. Our final stop was a Brazilian bakery, where we got a few different mini churros that were filled with very good flavors.
Sprinkled throughout the tour (pun somewhat intended) were several stops at buildings and monuments and various streets, where Marysol educated us on all things of interest!
We came for donuts, we left with donut full tummies, and brains cram packed with interesting new information about cork and Ireland.
Would strongly recommend the tour!
