We didn’t want to go all the way to Ho Chi Min from the cruise port and this was a wonderful alternative. Our guide, Castle, was awesome - very knowledgeable and helpful. We saw fascinating glimpses of traditional life and learned about the long history of Vietnam. Vung Tao is a charming city. Highly recommend!

A day trip to Vung Tau

TimothyCharles_B, Mar 2026
Had a fantastic day with Evelyn, our guide. She tailored the day to what and where we wanted to see. Our driver was fantastic getting around the chaos on the roads.

A Must Do.

sksnow, Mar 2026
Fantastic day not only did we see the sights but learned some history. Our guide Mr long was great and we would whole heatedly recomend him. My wife is Ceoliac but Mr long had arranged a perfect lunch.

Good customer service

We were on the Norwegian Sun and unfortunately they cancelled this port within the 24 hour period so we were very grateful that the tour operator still refunded our money in full.

Bruno, our tour guide,...

Phong_N, Feb 2026
Bruno, our tour guide, was there waiting for our group of 6 at the cruise port and led us to our private van and driver. He was very funny and knowledgeable about the various sights and highlights of Vung Tau. He can speak fluently in both English and Vietnamese and can communicate and interact with everyone in our group. We were able to tailor the tour itinerary to match with our interests and preference especially for a visit to a local market selling exotic tropical fruits. We were also treated to a great restaurant offering Vung Tau's specialty dishes. We highly recommend this private tour and Bruno.

Cruise ship cancelled port.

Susan_R, Feb 2026
Class act and very professional. Great communication. Booked tour since awesome reviews. However cruise ship cancelled the port. After communicating the situation a refund was promptly given. Thanks.

Kelvin and his driver...

Kenton_N, Jan 2026
Kelvin and his driver were a great tour team! Travelled in a group of 6 and had a great time. Kelvin knew so much about the city and was very flexible with the day, giving us plenty of options and recommendations to choose from to craft a great itinerary. He also took us to his favorite restaurant and it was a high on everyone in our group's rankings for food for our entire 2.5 week trip. Thanks Kelvin!

Great Tour

Peter_G, Jan 2026
This was an excellent private tour, Hui did an excellent job in showing us all the sites and filled the day with excellent experiences. This is highly recommended and both the driver and the guide ensured that we had a full 7 hour tour. One note - the description of the tour should include a note about needing pants and proper top to see the religious sites. An amazing day thanks to Hui

One day in Vung Tau

Anja_L, Jan 2026
This is a great tour for exploring Vung Tau. The driver and guide were both very friendly. The guide explained history and other aspects of stops well. Naturally, you’re not able to explore everything within the short span of a day, still they made it possible for us to build some wonderful memories. Thank you to both driver and guide!

The perfect day!

Wendy_F, Dec 2025
Great communication from our tour guide Y to make sure our day in Vung Tau was perfect from port pickup to drop off. She showed us the sites with great insights. And the driver navigated the windy and narrow toad up to the white palace flawlessly. Lunch was amazing topped off afterwards with a seaside view sipping Y’s suggestion of an avocado/coconut drink. It was delicious! Highly recommend!

Grateful, great guide + tour Vung Tao

jolyn_b, Dec 2025
Lawrence +driver catered trip to our interests and we had fantastic day visiting Christ Mt, cathedral, community house of worship and gathering, whale temple, Mary+Christ child, beach+overlook, market and delicious lunch with extra snacks for road! Safe drive, excellent English, immaculate car!

Amazing Experience!!

Absolutely amazing experience; wonderful overview of Vung Tau. Jason went above and beyond not only taking us to amazing places, but also giving us history of Vietnam.

Well organised luxury...

Well organised luxury Comfortable transport good price and the best tour guide Bruno very Informative

3 times more driving than touring

hyunjoon_k, Mar 2025
Tour description never mentioned about wearing long pants. When we got there (Jesus statue & White Palace), tour guide told us that we can't get in because we wore shorts. Only we did was to look at Jesus statue from entrance gate and just drove by white palace. Traffic was so bad which took almost 7 hours around trip between port and Vung Tau city. It was hot day but never been offered any cold water. Lunch was offered but no real choice.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Dear Mr. Kim, Thank you for booking this tour with us. As your ship docked at Hiep Phuoc Port, not Phu My Port, so we noticed you if you still want to visit Vung Tau City, it costs you around 2.5 hours driving per way from your port to Vung Tau City, not 40 minutes like from Phu My Port to Vung Tau City. Our tour guide said hello to you and recommended you to wear long pants via your WhatsApp in advance, but it seemed you missed his messages. We will input the mention that our beloved customers should wear the long pants when taking this tour. Thank you Mr. Kim. We will keep trying to do our best with hope bringing to our beloved customers the best experiences when touring with us. Sorry for not making you satisfaction with our tour, and thank you again for your feedback, Mr. Kim. Sincerely yours, Thu Ho

Port day trip

Brian_W, Feb 2025
Sang was a great tour guide! My family and I enjoyed our time on this tour. We went to all the places we wanted and more!! Enjoyed our free time in the town/beach as well. Port pick up was smooth and without issue. Two thumbs up !!

Wonderful tour…wonderful guide!

David_B, Jan 2025
Sang, our tour guide was the best! He took us to so many wonderful sights and being on a private tour in an air conditioned vehicle is a huge bonus! If you request Sang as your guide you definitely won’t regret it.

Very good; exactly as advertised!

Gary_A, Mar 2024
This was a private tour for just the two of us. We had a very good English speaking guide and a separate driver in a nice new vehicle. Pickup was right on time and we were able to modify the tour to meet our interests. All went very smooth. We recommend visiting this specific area of Vietnam as it is totally different from the chaos you will find in Ho Chi Min City!

Good tour, so-so destination

Myriam_C, Mar 2024
We had a nice tour with our guide. She was very I formative. The city itself doesn't have much to offer. We enjoyed our stop at the monastery.

Best tour guide

sarah_k, Mar 2024
Jayden, our tour guide, has great knowledge about this city, speak fluent English, provide great information and history of each attraction, took us to best photo site , we have a lot of fun during our tour, highly recommend his service if travel to Vung Tau City

Fantastic tour to Vung Tau

Elizabeth_O, Mar 2024
Super guide in Mr Duc, he sent all the meeting information in good time so we were confident when leaving the ship. Very comfortable vehicle for the tour and plenty of water was provided. We enjoyed plenty of time at each highlight and he was very knowledgeable about each and every place we visited. Fantastic lunch, we had never eaten Vietnamese food before and it was delicious, Bahn Kot is highly recommended! Super tour, super guide, highly recommended 👌

Anna was an excellent guide

Hella_U, Mar 2024
We were a group of 9, and Anna was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, and showed us everything. The highlight for me was climbing the 800 steps to see the huge Jesus statue. 5 of the group did it, and even though it was very hot, we all managed it. There were plenty of rest stops along the way and the view from the inside of the statue was amazing. Just another 100 steps or so to the top. You cannot take water up ( but you can purchase it near the top), so a few just discretely took a bottle. Just don't let the lady at the bottom see you do it, and only drink it when away from the cameras which are everywhere. We got to sample cheese yoghurt which was delicious outside the monkey monastry, lunch was delicious, and we felt we all got excellent value for money. A great alternative shore excursion instead of making the long trek to Ho Chi Minh city.

Excellent Value Informative and interesting. Highly Recommend

Adrian_J, Feb 2024
We arranged this tour as much cheaper than the similar one being offered by the cruise company. Instead of being stuck on a coach with another 20+ passengers we had a private air conditioned car with a driver and guide just for the 2 of us. Qui, our guide was brilliant. His English was excellent and he was very chatty and friendly. He was extremely knowledgeable and made the whole day a memorable and informative experience. He contacted us the day before via What’s App and sent a photo of himself and where we should meet. On the day of the trip he messaged again and sent another photo of himself and where he was standing at the port gates so it was easy to spot him among the many tour guides waiting with signs. To get to the port gates there is a free shuttle bus from the ship. To avoid everyone queuing in the heat for the bus we had to get a numbered ticket on the ship and could only go for the bus when the number was called. Worth beating in mind as it can take a while to get off. Once in the car we met Tony, the driver, who again was excellent and like Qui made us very welcome. Throughout the day they both took photos of us visiting the interesting places on the tour and then What’s App’d them to me. So much easier than trying to do a selfie. All the stops on the tour were very interesting. The 800 steps up to the Christ The King Statue in the heat were a trek, but we took it slowly and the view was certainly worth it. Lunch, at a lovely busy restaurant full of locals was delicious and Qui explains about the local foods and how we should eat them to get the best flavours. We had a fully enjoyable day and felt we learnt a lot about the area and the Vietnamese culture.

Lovely trip with a great guide

Philip_P, Feb 2024
Had a very informative guide in Huy.Kept us well informed and his local knowledge was excellent. Highlights were climbing the Jesus statue, and the visit to the large Buddha. Loved the local lunch.

A great alternative to the long drive to Ho Chi Minh City!

bobgmartin51, Jan 2024
Our guide, Sunny did a great job of communicating before the tour and was very clear in where to meet…and she was early! A clean, air conditioned van was ours for the day - Sunny was very knowledgeable and a good communicator- She picked a great local “”Pho” spot for lunch and surprised us with a local fruit education…a unique and fun experience! She was flexible with our requests and a delight to spend the day touring with her - We would recommend her1

Viator excursion to Vung...

Mary_C, Jan 2024
Viator excursion to Vung Tau Beach area. Tour guide is Lawrence Huynh.  Driver is Mr. Long Vung Tau is about 1 hr away from the port. Christ the King Statue: there are 800 steps to get to the foot of the statue and another 133 steps to get the the neck/shoulder. What a climb but we made it and the view was glorious! Whale Temple - Long Ong Nam Hai: fishermen worship the whale because they believe a whale saved them from a bad storm by taken their boat to shore and subsequently sacrifice its life due to shallow waters. White Mansion built by the French for their governor and later the king of Vietnam lived there. There were Asian antiques and western furniture. Locals like to dress up in traditional dress and to come here during lunar new year to take pictures. It's situated in a hill so it has nice views. Lunch: Banh Khot Mien Dong. Fried food you wrap in vegetable leaves and dip in fish sauce. Very good. Local Fish market - very interesting Local beach to have ice coffee. I had it with soymilk and it was very good, like coffee candy. Lawrence wanted to take us to some more places but we were tired and was happy to go back to the ship. It took about 45min to drive back to Phu My from Vung Tau. Lawrence was a great tour guide. He was very flexible and accommodating to our interests and preferences.

Fun and exciting

litapresto, Jan 2024
Climbed up to the shoulder of the Statue of Christ, exciting experience. Had fun posing in the Upside Down House and tasted the famous Vietnamese coffee. Amazed by the Golden Buddha in the Chon Khong Monastery. Sunny, our guide rendered herself as brilliant, energetic, patient guide who accommodated our last minute requests. Sunny and this tour is highly commendable.

Best Way to See Vung Tau

The best way to see Vung Tau. Saw everything we wanted, even swam in the ocean. Ben was an amazing guide! He went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly! Absolutely recommend.
