Great day. Marina was a fantastic guide - full of information and enthusiasm.
Long day - we got back to Chisinau at 7.45pm - so it probably won't work if you've got a flight to catch!
You'll need to exchange money for lunch - we changed 700 MLD and bought 2x beers; 2x soups; 1x dumplings and 2x puddings for lunch. We had spare for 3x dried caviar and a lot of chocolate! There was an additional opportunity to exchange money after lunch...
Please note, you can not change the local currency back!

Incredible experience! Before I was like many I was apprehensive but this was one of the best tours I’ve done!
Our guide Oleg was amazing, drove us there safely and effeciently
Border crossing was very easy, very safe!
The fortress was cool, the soviet cafe was great and the food was nice too!
If you have any doubts.. all I can say is DO IT! You want regret it!

It's a full day of sightseeing and facts which was fascinating and gave a real insight as to what 'life behind the iron curtain' was like.
Our guide Cat was super informative and developed a great rapport with us. She went out of her way to stop at any sights that we wanted to, even if they were not on the 'official list'
Cat picked us up from our Hotel and dropped us back to the door and we were 'chauffered' in a very comfortable Mercedes E Class. Cat helped us with our documents to get across the border - a simple 5 minute job and was even quicker on the way back
One of the highlights was a lunch in a 'Soviet' Restaurant which was like stepping back in time and the food was super authentic and very cheap.
Given it is almost impossible to travel into Russia at the moment, this is the nearest you will get and there is a real Soviet feel to the place.
This was a perfectly safe place to travel to and in, sightsee and take pictures. It was much more 'open' and relaxed than I imagined it would be
This trip is a 'must see' if you are staying in Chisinau for more than a few days
