Please meet your Daily Walking Tour Guide in the Buttermarket, outside the main Cathedral Gate. Guides wear a red sash, and hold a placard. Please note you may finish your tour in a different location (usually the High Street). Your Guide will be happy to direct you onwards.

Our guide Kay was super friendly and the tour informative ! Would recommend to get a first glimpse of Canterbury’s rich history and historic buildings. You get into the Cathedral precinct as well.

Our guide was very informative and friendly as he told us tales of Canterbury and pointed out things of interest that you would never know just wandering around as a tourist. There was a good mix of history and human stories as we walked along the lanes of the town. We were a small group and despite some average weather, we all enjoyed the tour.

Wonderful enthusiastic guide, moved at a steady pace. The ability to see the Cathedral grounds together with the history provided was lovely. A nice stroll around a pretty town and lots of quirky insights.

Very well done and informative. In fact, we realized that doing the walking tour prior to seeing some of the main sites on your own, such as the cathedral made those experiences much better because you had a background of the significance of things that you see.

The walking tour was fantastic. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and had I not done it, I would have walked aimlessly around and not taken in the history and it's meaning. Well worth it.. am doing more

An interesting insight into the city. A very nice guide with a good sense of humour. One thing to watch for is that we stood near the cathedral for a long time in the cold, scrap up warm!!

This was a great tour of a city with a huge amount of history. Ian, our tour guide, had a great sense of humour and was hugely knowledgeable about the city and the activities which went on. Despite the weather (Story Darragh), he kept us all enthralled for 90 mins. Whilst you might think you see the history as you walk around, this tour pointed out the details you probably missed! Thanks Ian - and Merry Christmas!

The guide brought the stories alive with his theatrical presentation and wit. His knowledge of the history of the cathedral and of Canterbury was very impressive. While looking at the cathedral library he explained how close the cathedral had come to being destroyed by the German Luftwaffe and how the bombs had dropped to the East of the city. This helped to explain why the east end is so much more modern.

Marks storytelling. He is very knowledgeable and passionate and the information was shared in the best way possible. The city is also filled with nuggets of history and very beautiful to walk around.

We did our tour with Lyndsey, she made the experience worthwhile. Very knowledgeable, friendly and spoke loud and clear for the whole group to hear. Canterbury has many tales and she knew a lot! From famous events to modern day eateries. We are so pleased we decided to do this walk. You would never unlock the enchantment of what surrounds you without a guide like her.

Canterbury is a really nice town to visit. We were a little disappointed in this walking tour because the man who led us on the tour did not speak loudly enough for us to hear him and he often spoke ahead as we were walking so that nobody could hear him.
There was a lot of walking on the tour and perhaps the description should mention that as we are all in our late 70’s and would not have chosen this tour had we known it was not all in flat surfaces without slopes.

We do advertise the tour as a 90-minute walking tour, although the total distance covered is not far. The whole tour is conducted on the flat - there are no slopes at all throughout the tour, or steps (except maybe 2-3 if the Cathedral cloisters are visited). It is suitable for all ages and walking abilities. If you wish to get in touch with us about your experience on the tour, please do so.
