There is some walking over cobblestones and up hills, but it's worth it. It's a great experience but not for the mobility impaired. The pace was just right for us. Our guide, Thomas, was perfect.

A private guide walking tour is an unique experience. When you have a fantastic guide as James who was made the tour a casual and friendly walk with a very accurate and non scripted overview of England and world history together of showing the best spots of Southampton it was much beyond our best expectations and surely we recommend if you stop here in a cruise or just happen to pass by this charming city.

GREAT Private Walking Tour of Southampton on Sept 15, 2025!! Our Tour Guide, Sam was excellent and very knowledgeable about Southampton's history; which he shared with us during our walk-about. We were a group of 2; so, this was truly a "private" tour. Thanks again for a great Southampton tour!! The tour was a fantastic and fun way to learn about the history of Southampton. I was fascinated by the detail and knowledge that Sam shared with us. We got the history of many buildings, churches and remaining relics including the walls, memorials, and even some interesting places surrounding Southampton. Great tour by Sam!

Did this tour after doing the pilgrim walking tour. There was a small amount of overlap, but a different set of info than the first type. The guide was a PhD, and a fast talker. Got a great overview of the history. Tour was from bargate south and then back around to the north, where it ended in a park. Loved the details of everything.

This was one of the best tours, if not the best, that we have done. Lilly was so knowledgeable about the history of Southampton and enthusiastic to share her love of the city. We learned so much about the past and present and really appreciated what we saw through her stories about the people that lived in Southampton. Lilly seemed able to answer any questions that we had. My husband loves WW2 history and she knew much about Southampton’s involvement. What an awesome tour guide.

From the ancient gate to the Mayflower departure site and lots of Titanic history. She was great. We would definitely recommend her as a tour guide.

Our guide Michelle arrived early to meet us. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Michelle really knew her historical information giving us the history in depth of Southampton. It was so impressive how she could quote all the dates and events. She spoke loudly and distinctly and was easy to understand. She also gave us a few opportunities to sit down while she spoke to us which was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this tour!
