WOW !!! If you want to interact w/kangaroos, this is the experience to do it on. There were lots of other animals to see, however, I was coming here for the kangaroo experience and I totally got my money's worth. The kangaroo enclosure is a wide open area where you can walk around and freely interact w/the kangaroos. Buy a bag of feed while you are in the store. The kangaroos know the crinkle of the bag , its funny to watch them react to it. They were so docile and would hop right up to us and a couple even gently grabbed our arms to lower our hands so the could eat the food right out of our hands. Some were sleeping, some didn't want to be bothered and would avoid us, and several were very happy to eat. It was the sweetest experience to just freely walk among them and wait for them to come to us and eat what we offered. The other animals were interesting, but the kangaroos were the BEST !
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for the WOW review — we love it! 😄
It’s fantastic to hear how much you enjoyed the kangaroo experience. Being able to walk among them and interact so freely is something really special, and you’ve described it perfectly — especially the moment they hear that crinkle of the feed bag!
We’re so pleased you got exactly what you came for and had such a memorable, hands-on experience.
Beth_M, Apr 2026
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Wings Wildlife Park! There were so many different animals to see, from rodents to birds to mammals! We were enthralled with being able to feed and pet the kangaroos. And we were able to witness the Tasmanian devil feeding! We learned a lot about so many of the native animals to Tasmania.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you so much for your wonderful review — it’s great to hear how much you enjoyed your visit to Wings Wildlife Park!
Being able to feed and interact with the kangaroos is always a highlight, and seeing the Tasmanian devils up close (especially at feeding time!) is a really special experience. It’s fantastic that you were able to learn more about Tasmania’s unique wildlife along the way.
For guests travelling with eGuide, Wings Wildlife Park is one of our favourite stops on our Burnie shore excursions, as it offers such an authentic and hands-on Tasmanian experience.
Thanks again for travelling with us — we hope to welcome you back to Tasmania again soon!
Monique_d, Apr 2026
Beautiful drive in the country to the wildlife park. There are about 4 different animal encounters you can pay for.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review and we are glad you enjoyed Wings Monique! We hope to welcome you again in the future.

The bus ride was great but the experience itself left many things to be desired. The tent and bus were difficult to find in downtown. The point of contact couldn’t be reached by phone or email. Once we got there it was evident that they had way oversold tickets for the park. We were tripping over people and had a hard time getting out of the gift shop. We were also constantly bombarded by wasps the entire time.
Not sure if they have a limit to the number of encounters they offer each day. The koala looked like it was very over people when we walked by. He was running away on the tree and the staff kept following and encouraging people to pet him while taking photos.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your feedback.
Wings Wildlife Park is independently operated, so while we include entry as part of the experience, we don’t manage the park itself. On cruise ship days it can become quite busy, which can impact the overall visit.
We did send a very detailed explanation of where to meet and said if ask volunteers who were there to help. We cannot control wasps and how many customers want to purchase entry to the park - we do take feedback on board and are happy with constructive critisism however this review does not feel fair.
Thanks again for travelling with eGuide — we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the experience.
Jeanette_P, Mar 2026
A lot better than he Sidney Zoo. Got to actually pet the kangaroos.. didn’t like that you had to pay extra to touch the koalas and hold the baby Tasmania devil. Should have been included.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Great you enjoyed the eGuide Wings Shuttle. We cannot include any petting as something that has to be paid direct to Wings. Eguide operates a good value a shuttle service not a tour but does include the entrance fees to make it easy for everyone and save time getting tickets.
Linda_R, Mar 2026
As much as I don’t like “zoos,” it was AMAZING to be able to feed and pet kangaroos. We saw a joey peeking out of the pouch! Shuttle was so much better than cruise ship tour (cost and crowds).
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience. We completely understand your thoughts about zoos, so it’s wonderful to hear that the visit turned out to be such a special one. Being able to feed and gently interact with the kangaroos – and even spot a joey peeking out of a pouch – is always a highlight for many of our guests.
We’re also really pleased you enjoyed the shuttle and found it a better option than the cruise ship tours, both for value and the smaller, more relaxed groups. That’s exactly what we aim for: an easy, friendly way for cruise guests to experience the best of Burnie and its wildlife without the crowds.
Thank you again for choosing eGuide, and we hope to welcome you back to Tasmania one day.
Jackie_S, Mar 2026
We went to three animal parks and this one was the best! You were able to go in with the Kangaroos and pet them and feed them and being able to pet a koala bear was $60 which was less than other places. Overall, it was a great park!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your great review. We’re really pleased to hear that Wings Wildlife Park stood out as your favourite. Being able to walk among the kangaroos, feed them, and get close to Australia’s unique animals is something many of our guests really enjoy.
The koala encounter is also a special experience and, as you mentioned, it’s often more affordable here than at many other wildlife parks.
We’re glad you had such a great visit and thank you for joining eGuide on our Burnie shore excursion to Wings Wildlife Park. We hope the day was a highlight of your time in Tasmania.
Lisa_S, Mar 2026
Feeding baby kangaroos was the best but it was a long drive.
Nothing else to say for Trip Advisor minimum character count.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Sorry you felt a long trip but we do make the clear when you book that the drive to Wings is one hour each way. Most guests say they really enjoy the scenic drive as it covers both inland and coast.
CJ_R, Mar 2026
Fun day out to see Australian animals. Small rustic zoo. Bit of a drive but pretty countryside on the way.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed the day and the chance to see some of Australia’s unique animals. Wings Wildlife Park is a smaller, rustic wildlife park, which many guests enjoy because it allows them to see animals like Tasmanian Devils, kangaroos, and wombats up close.
As you mentioned, the drive takes about an hour from Burnie, but it does pass through some beautiful north-west Tasmanian countryside, which many visitors enjoy seeing along the way.
Thanks again for joining eGuide on our Burnie shore excursion, and we’re pleased you had a fun day out.
Diane_E, Mar 2026
The wildlife preserve is well done. We enjoyed the excursion and the chance to see Tasmanian Devils.
Just be aware that there is no tour guide on the bus or in the preserve. You are on your own once you get on the bus. It would have been nice to hear about the countryside we were traveling through.
Also, it’s an hour drive each way with 2 hours in the park.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for joining our Wings Wildlife Park shore excursion from Burnie and for sharing your feedback. We’re really pleased you enjoyed the wildlife preserve and the chance to see the Tasmanian Devils — it’s always a highlight for many visitors to Tasmania.
This particular tour is designed as a relaxed shuttle-style excursion, giving guests plenty of free time to explore Wings Wildlife Park at their own pace. The drive from Burnie takes about one hour each way through the scenic north-west Tasmanian countryside, with around two hours in the park, which most guests find a good amount of time to see the animals and enjoy the experience.
While this tour doesn’t include a guide, our eGuide drivers are local experts and are always happy to share information and answer questions along the way. For guests who prefer more commentary and storytelling, we also offer fully guided Burnie shore excursions that explore the region in greater depth.
We appreciate your feedback and are glad you enjoyed seeing Tasmania’s unique wildlife. Thanks again for travelling with eGuide Tasmania tours and shore excursions.
Susan_S, Mar 2026
The bus driver/tour guide was excellent - informative and entertaining. The wildlife park was interesting. There were many different types of animals and birds to view. Not all of them were native to Australia, though. Some of the animals were in enclosures which were too small and they appeared stressed.
People really enjoyed being able to interact with the kangaroos and wallabies which were not penned or caged.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed the tour and that your driver-guide was informative and entertaining — that’s something we really focus on during our Burnie shore excursions and North West Tasmania tours.
Wings Wildlife Park is a popular stop for many of our cruise guests because it offers the chance to see a wide variety of animals and birds, and the opportunity to hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies is often a real highlight. Many visitors also enjoy seeing iconic species like the Tasmanian devil up close.
We appreciate your feedback and are glad you chose to explore Burnie and Tasmania’s North West with eGuide. We hope you enjoyed your time in the region and had a great day ashore.
Judy_R, Mar 2026
Very cool adventure in Burnie, Tasmania. Great access to kangaroos, Tasmanian Devils, Koala and a ton of other animals. An added bonus was the 40 minute drive to the park as we got to see the beautiful countryside of Tasmania.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
So pleased to hear you enjoyed the experience.
Wings Wildlife Park is a fantastic place to see Tasmania’s unique animals up close, and it’s always a highlight for visitors to meet the kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, koalas and many other species. The drive out to the park is also a special part of the trip, as it gives guests a chance to see the beautiful countryside around Burnie.
Thanks for joining us on the tour — we’re glad you had a cool adventure while visiting Burnie.
Frank_M, Mar 2026
Very easy to find at the cruise shuttle drop off point. Scenic 1 hour comfortable bus ride to and from the park, different route each direction, so a lovely look at this section of Tasmania. The park is a worthwhile destination and 1 hour 50 minutes is the right amount of time. We splurged for an animal encounter and were so happy we did! a tip upon entering the park, the line to sign up for an encounter was quite long, so we went directly into the park then came back to book an encounter with a baby Tasmanian Devil! Well worth the $60 fee to hold this precious little guy who likes to be cuddled.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your lovely review.
I’m really pleased to hear you enjoyed the trip out to Wings Wildlife Park and that the shuttle worked well for you. The drive out through the countryside is one of the highlights, so it’s great that you appreciated the different routes each way.
Your tip about going into the park first and then returning to book the animal encounter is a great one — and holding a baby Tasmanian Devil is certainly a very special experience!
Thanks again for travelling with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Tasmania one day.
Christopher_J, Mar 2026
This is one of the very best tours you could possibly do. The tour guide was excellent and the wildlife section was amazing
berrettm, Feb 2026
It was great. The bus driver was great. We had plenty of time at the wild park and got back to the ship in plenty of time. The wild park was so fun.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
That’s lovely to hear — thank you so much for sharing your experience.
I’m really pleased you enjoyed the day and that everything ran smoothly, with plenty of time at the wildlife park and a relaxed return back to the ship. It’s a special place, and I’m glad you had fun there.
Thanks again for choosing to tour with us — we really appreciate it.

Every Tasmanian animal, bird and reptile you’d ever want to see, pet or hold is available at this place. Well kept and the people knowledgeable and very friendly. It was a great way to spend 4 hours in Burnie. My wife and I highly recommend it.
Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thanks again for the recommendation, and we hope to welcome you and your wife back again one day.

Great tour guide on the way there and back. Plenty of time given to check out all of the animals. Held the baby Tasmanian devil
Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thanks again for joining us, and we hope to see you again.
Cheryl_S, Feb 2026
This was a fabulous experience. We loved getting to see all the animals, and I thoroughly enjoyed my koala encounter. We had no trouble getting to it from the cruise ship, and we were returned In plenty of time.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thanks so much for the lovely review — we really appreciate it.
It’s great to hear you enjoyed seeing all the animals and that the koala encounter was a highlight. We’re also pleased everything ran smoothly from the cruise ship and that you were back with plenty of time to spare.

Great little place. Beautiful wild life. You can actually FEED THE KANGAROOS!!! ($6 AUD) There are other animal encounters for about $60 AUD available also. Glad we went!

Debbie_S, Feb 2026
The drive was nice but anything you would like to do once you got there had a fee attached. I paid $60 to pet a koala and $6.00 for kangaroo food. I don’t remember seeing the fees before. I did enjoy doing it.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thanks for sharing your thoughts — we really appreciate the feedback.
I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the drive and the experience overall. You’re right that some of the animal encounters, like koala pats and kangaroo food, are optional extras charged directly by the wildlife park rather than us. We do aim to make this clear beforehand, but your comment is helpful and a good reminder for us to keep improving how clearly those details are communicated.
It’s great to hear that you did enjoy the experience once you took part, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know how it felt from a guest’s point of view.
Thanks again for joining us, and we hope to see you again
Carolyn_N, Feb 2026
The entire experience was well run and easy. The local Burnie guides were very nice. The ride to Wings park is lovely, and they took a different route back which was nice. The Wings park is small, but well run. The opportunity to interact with the animals for an extra fee is worth it. Skip buying food for the kangaroos, you can interact with them quite easily without food - they’re well fed and not interested in the food. It’s quite a large area with many kangaroos and you can just walk up and pet them. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thanks so much for the detailed and thoughtful review — we really appreciate it.
It’s great to hear the whole experience felt easy and well run, and that you enjoyed spending time with our local Burnie guides. Taking a different route on the return is something we like to do when we can, so it’s nice to know you noticed and enjoyed that too.
We’re also pleased to hear you enjoyed Wings Wildlife Park and found the animal interactions worthwhile. Your practical tips about the kangaroos are spot on and will be helpful for future guests reading reviews.
Thanks again for joining us — we’re delighted you had such an enjoyable day in Burnie and hope to see you again.
RJ_P, Dec 2025
A well-run preserve with the smallest of creatures (mice) up to the kangaroos - and all the ones in between - birds and land rovers. For an up charge ($40 US per encounter) , you could spend time cradling a baby Tasmanian devil - worth it! - and meet Blinkie the koala up close. There was also a wombat option and you can buy small kangaroo feed bags (only needed one for 2 people) which is very worthwhile. It is a scenic one-hour drive to/from the park and was done in a big bus with only 10 passengers aboard - we would have preferred a van as had what seemed to be promoted - but the drive was done safely. Also, beware, your shoe bottoms - depending on tread depth - will be filled with excrement so prepare to have to clean your footwear. (We used Clorox wipes before getting back to our cruise cabin.)
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you very much for such a detailed and thoughtful review — it’s great to hear you enjoyed the experience.
We’re pleased you appreciated the variety of animals and the special encounters, especially spending time with a baby Tasmanian devil and meeting Blinkie the koala — those moments really are something special. Thanks also for the helpful tips about kangaroo feed bags and footwear; that’s practical advice future visitors will certainly appreciate.
We note your comments about vehicle size as well. While we always aim to match what’s promoted, vehicle allocation can vary depending on the day’s operations. I’m glad to hear the journey was comfortable and safely driven, and we’ll continue working to keep the experience as smooth as possible.
Thanks again for taking the time to share such useful feedback, and we hope your Tasmanian visit was a memorable one.
Martin_D, Dec 2025
Had booked a shore excursion for Wings Wildlife Park, but unfortunately ship was unable to dock in Burnie due to high winds. Spoke to Wings operator who was very helpful. Very disappointed as I had visited the park a few years ago and bringing a group of friends this time. Will definitely return on next visit to Tasmania.
Highly recommend the Park to anyone visiting the Burnie area. A must!
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review — and we’re really sorry the weather didn’t play ball on the day. Burnie can be stunning, but when the winds come up, safety has to come first.
We completely understand how disappointing it must have been, especially as you were keen to share Wings Wildlife Park with your friends after enjoying it on a previous visit. It’s lovely to hear how highly you rate the park, and we agree — it really is a special place and a must-do when visiting the Burnie area.
We hope your next visit to Tasmania gives you calmer seas and the chance to return to Wings and enjoy it properly. We’d be very happy to help make that happen when the time comes.
Barbara_A, Mar 2025
Interesting ride to the park. Two hours at the park was perfect. You can pay an up charge for interaction with a koala and/or a baby Tasmanian devil. You can also buy kangaroo food. The kangaroo enclosure is open and you can go right in and feed them by hand. So many animals to see and appreciate.
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're so glad to hear that you had an enjoyable time at the park and found the two-hour visit to be just right. The opportunity to interact with the koala and baby Tasmanian devil, as well as feed the kangaroos, definitely makes for a memorable experience. We’re glad you got to appreciate all the wonderful animals! We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!
Ellen_S, Mar 2025
A wonderful way to interact with the unique Australian animals. I paid extra to pet the koala and it was fantastic! Surprisingly soft. My husband got to pet a baby wallaby who is being raised by one of the park caretakers. We also interacted with lots of kangaroos and saw devils, wombats, and echidnas along with other native animals. We lived our time at Wings!
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Hi Ellen,
I am so happy to hear you had such a great experience at Wings. Being able to see all of the animals up close is such a special experience.
Kendra_M, Feb 2025
I thoroughly enjoyed the time at Wing's, and the beautiful scenic drive there only added to the experience. Well worth it.
Response from Host, Feb 2025
Hi Kendra,
We're thrilled to hear you had a great time at Wing's and enjoyed the scenic drive. It's always wonderful when the journey adds to the experience. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Carol_K, Feb 2025
Wonderful experience with unbelievable opportunities to interact with kangaroos in beautiful treed lot. Well organized and clean facility.
Response from Host, Feb 2025
Hi Carol,
It is so exciting to see and interact with these animals up close at Wings. It is great to hear you enjoyed the experience, it was our pleasure to have you along and we hope to see you again in the future!
Darrell_G, Feb 2025
The tour should have had 2 hours at the wild life park but the driver only allowed us 1 hour and 20 minutes. Other than that it was an excellent tour.
Response from Host, Feb 2025
Hi Darrell,
Thank you for your feedback and we will be sure to take that on, thank you for taking the time to review us.
Kind regards
William_R, Feb 2025
It’s a nice park and preserve. We loved the kangaroo pen getting to feed them. Probably my most favorite memory of Australia. The gang gang cockatoo was so friendly and liked to visit so fun!!!!
Response from Host, Feb 2025
Hi William, we are so pleased you had the opportunity to make some great memories at Wings. It is a very wonderful experience to see all of the wildlife. Thank you for taking the time to submit a review and all the best!
Nancy_T, Jan 2025
This tour provided an excellent view of the beautiful and diverse Tasmanian countryside. Our guide, Marie, is very knowledgeable and friendly.
The company adjusted the start time as a shore excursion to align with our ship's delayed arrival.
We enjoyed the time at Wings Wildlife Park. Though it is a small park, there is lots to see and experience. We could have used an additional half-hour, but I was pleased Marie took us to Penguin.
I would have rated this a 5-star, except the van was not equipped with a microphone and speakers for Marie. The passengers in the back could not hear everything she said, especially after departing Penguin when she conversed with the two front-seat passengers.
Response from Host, Jan 2025
Hi Nancy,
We are so glad you had a great time and thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Regarding the microphone we are so sorry we had technical difficulty that day with the equipment and Marie wasn't aware the people at the back could not hear. We will be sure to correct this in the future and thank you for bringing it to our attention.
