Cruise ship guests will be picked up just outside the Port of Bar, at the main meeting point after the shuttle drop-off area. Your guide will be waiting with a sign “Rumija 4x4 Experience”, making the meeting point easy to find. Detailed instructions will be provided after booking. The tour is carefully timed to match your cruise schedule, ensuring a smooth experience and return to the ship well before departure.

Our excursion to Rumija was an unforgettable experience! The views from the mountain were absolutely breathtaking, offering a perfect mix of nature, history, and tranquility. The journey up was both scenic and adventurous, and once at the top, the panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea were spectacular. Our guide Dan “the man” was knowledgeable and friendly, sharing fascinating insights about the cultural and spiritual importance of Rumija. This excursion was a highlight of our trip to Montenegro. The lunch was a feast, delicious. Thank you for opening your home to us!

We were honored with a first hand cultural experience on this excursion. Our guide,Milano, provided a comprehensive historical background in a “down-to-earth” manner- quite interesting and compelling… we then toured the Heritage exhibit. He personalized the tour and made changes based on our interest. The tour of the olive trees and the panoramic views of the mountain-sides 1000ft above sea level was breathtaking! The tour was enhanced with a family style meal prepared by the vendor and his family at his home in the mountains! The meal, the tour, and the Vibe provided the cultural experience I hoped for. Well done and I highly recommend this experience!

First and most of all, the host of the tour and his friends, those who drove us, are wonderful human beings. From first booking, the host, Drago, was in constant - and very kind! - communication via Whats App, to be sure we would have the best experience. We had 10 travelers, and also another family we just met, so we were in several vehicles, but traveling together. We drove through the hillsides and to see some spots of interest and some beautiful views. (Our driver was Milan - super A++!! - told us history and was very entertaining too!) We ended the first portion at the host's home in the hills, where the most delicious traditional meal was provided, including special vegetarian portions, complete with homemade olive oil, wine and Brandy. It could not have been any nicer, nor could they. I wish we had more of Drago and their crew in our lives!

We did the Rumija 4x4 Experience with Traditional Lunch with best friends, and it became one of the highlights of our trip.
Milan was an outstanding guide—knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely proud to share Montenegro with us. The 4x4 ride through Rumija was beautiful, slightly adventurous, and fun, but the real highlight was lunch at Drago’s home.
Drago welcomed us like old friends. Much of the meal came straight from the family garden, the farm made wine was excellent, and the traditional Montenegrin beef roast with potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and onions was so good I want to try and recreated the recipe. Drago’s wife finished the meal with a wonderful homemade dessert.
Nothing felt staged or touristy. It felt like authentic Montenegrin hospitality shared around a family table.
If you are visiting Bar, especially on a cruise, book this excursion. Milan and Drago gave us a day we will remember for a very long time.

This tour is AMAZING! The drivers are exceptional. Lots too see along the way! The lunch is served by Drago at his cottage, the hospitality is over the top! Food is delicious!

What a fantastic day! I must admit to being skeptical about driving up a mountain to a random person’s house for lunch, but I’m so glad we took a risk. This group of friends clearly love sharing their country with visitors. We started with a beautiful drive up the mountain making stops along the way and then headed to Drago’s for lunch. We enjoyed the most delicious meal accompanied by his family’s homemade wine. Everything was local, fresh and clearly prepared with love. We even finished with a cake his wife baked for us. It was a truly special experience and we left feeling like we’d be welcomed back anytime!

One of our favorite tours of the trip. It was a great was to see the beauty of Montenegro and avoid the streets and crowds. The food was amazing and the guides were local and very good. Would highly recommend.

This 4x4 excursion was an authentic way to experience the local countryside! Unlike open ATVs, we rode in comfortable, air-conditioned 4WD vehicles, which made a huge difference on a day pushing nearly 100 degrees. Our drivers were skilled, friendly, and very engaging as they took us up into the hills to enjoy some truly stunning viewpoints.
The absolute highlight of the day was the lunch stop at the owner’s family cottage. We sat together around one large table under a covered outdoor area and enjoyed an incredible traditional meal prepared by the owner and his family. They served homemade beverages and a delicious barbecue/outdoor-oven-style feast featuring meat, potatoes, carrots, fresh homemade bread, and dessert.
Sitting down together for a traditional home-cooked meal made the experience feel special and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great scenery and genuine local hospitality!

The tour was a bit long, mostly just driving through the countryside. The star of the show was the food and hospitality by Drago. I would skip the tour and go straight to that if it was available!

We booked this amazing experience through viator with no issues. Out of all our wonderful excursion that we did during our 10-day Mediterranean cruise, this was my favorite. The host was extremely communicative even before the experience making sure that the proper car seat was provided for our 4-year-old. He also provided very clear instructions on the meet up point, itinerary, and paths of communication which I very much appreciated.
The day before, we were in communication to confirm details and to alert him that our cruise was delayed in leaving the previous port which would most likely cause a delay in our arrival at Bar. He was very responsive and assured me he would be monitoring and would make sure we would still be picked up even with a late arrival.
Our arrival was about 2 hours late and he made sure there was someone there to pick us up exactly where he said they would be. Once we were all accounted for and began our excursion I knew we were in great hands and immediately relaxed and began to enjoy the beauty of Bar.
I loved the fact that it was us and only one other family, so we were able to really get to know our tour guide and ask all the questions we wanted. Milan graciously answered all our questions and taught us so much about the history of Bar. We started at one of the world's oldest olive trees and learned all its rich history. We then were driven up to a beautiful olive tree grove and stopped for some refreshing and cool mountain water. The tour was at our pace, which was so relaxing and comforting. We stopped several times as we were making our way up the mountain to admire and take in the beautiful views. It truly was stunning.
We finally arrived at our destination, which was our host’s beautiful mountain cabin. He and his crew had prepared a delicious meal of fresh meat, vegetables, bread, olive oil, and amazing cake. This meal was top 5 best meals of my life with an incredible view. In addition to all the food, we had Montenegrin wine (homemade by Drago!), fresh pomegranate juice and local beer. The wine was so good I brought a bottle home. He made sure our plates or glasses were never empty and it truly felt like we were having a beautiful family meal. We really got to know Drago, his crew, and the other family on the tour. We laughed, ate, and drank until our bellies could hold no more and then sadly we had to make our way back down the mountain and back to the cruise ship. I didn’t want our time to end. Milan made sure we were back to our ship safely and on time. Despite being on some small mountain roads, Milan navigated without any issues, and we knew we were in great hands.
I don’t know when we will be back to Bar but if we ever are lucky enough to go back, I would absolutely book this excursion again. Not only was it fun, informative and leisurely but we felt like we had made new friends when we left. The people of Bar were so warm and were happy we were there and you could really feel that. I loved everything about this tour and was so glad that we booked it!

This was such a wonderful experience. If you do one excursion do this one. The Montenegro hospitality is on another level. The traditional home cooking was divine the best potato’s I’ve ever had. The host was so friendly. Truly will never forget this experience.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. We would HIGHLY recommend it. The guides were amazing. It was so well planned out. They brought you to many locations for beautiful pictures. But it was the lunch, homemade by Drago that was over the top. It was wonderful. We ate in his home. The meat, vegetables and bread were out of this world. Definitely book this trip. I booked through Viator and the company messaged me and made it very clear how to find them off the cruise ship. They got us back to the ship in plenty of time. This is one not to miss.

This tour was amazing - tour guides (Degan) so friendly with stops up the mountain for photos and points of interest. Drago the host, welcomed us to his holiday home and cooked an amazing meal, welcoming us all like his own family. All local produce including wine and olive oil. A memorable experience we will not forget - the scenery was magical.

Directly after booking, Drago welcomed us on our adventure. This is a first for a tour operator. We were surprised and appreciated travelling as a group of 4 in a 4x4 convoy of 6 vehicles that travelled up, around and down Mt Rumija. The views were breathtaking.
He cooked an impressive traditional lunch prepared with local ingredients, served with wine, grappa and promegrante juice.

We had a really lovely time in this tour! Our driver was friendly and knowledgeable, the locally sourced and cooked food and drinks was easily the best thing we ate the whole holiday! We were returned back to our ship with plenty of time to spare and no stress.

This was an awesome experience that will take you out of the city and see the sights around the town. The drive through the mountains had great views and the stops for pictures and to learn the history was an added bonus. Once you reach the top, Drago provided an outstanding local/cultural meal that was the highlight of the trip.

If I could give this excursion a 10 star rating I would. Drago ensured we had a wonderful experience in Bar. From being picked up at the port by Milan to driving in the hills and stopping to see the amazing views along with the history of this beautiful country to eating a fabulous meal made by our host. Drago puts love into everything he does. The meal was outstanding using all the ingredients grown by the chef himself. Homemade wine, pomegranate juice, grappa were delicious. The meal is something we’ll always remember. Thank you for making our day in Bar perfect!

Long drive up the mountain with fantastic picture opportunities. The journey is worth the ride up the mountain. The food was excellent and the socializing with the drivers and other participants was fun. Hopefully their business grows as more cruise ships come to the region.
