Well worth the drive

Our visit to the Ravanica and Manasiya monasteries was a high point of our travel in Serbia. Nikola was an excellent guide, explaining in great detail the significance of the monasteries in Serbian history. And seeing the nearly 700-year-old frescoes still visible on the walls of the monastery chapels was pretty amazing! The monasteries are not close to the capital (Belgrade), but the highways and roads are in good shape so it's not a bad drive.
