I would not recommend this tour. The tour was starting off great. They showed up to my hotel the day before the tour for a tour briefing, I was unaware they were going to do this, but it was great. They told me what to expect and when to meet them. The day of the tour, they came on time and were friendly. We then drove to Machame. The driver asked if I wanted to stop at sites to take pictures. Very kind and friendly. When getting to the Machame gate, this is when things are questionable, the tour guide was unclear on the time to walk to the camp. He was saying 3 and then 4 hours, when getting home I saw on the gate placard it said 5. Anyway, he didn’t wear a watch to track hours or miles walked. After 4 hours of hiking, we had lunch. It started to rain and I asked to walk back. He had stated regardless we needed to get back because parking was only paid for 6 pm, I don’t quite understand this part. If it takes 10 hours, plus thirty mins, for lunch, why would we only get parking for 6 pm. This seemed very odd. Furthermore, it was raining while we were going back. He did help me walk down some slippery parts, but would walk ahead of me. It seemed he was trying to walk super fast to make time for the parking lot permit. I wouldn’t recommend this tour at all.
