AJ is a great guide/taxi driver. He's extremely friendly, knowledgeable and answered all questions we asked. AJ is very patient and the trip didn't feel rushed at all. He took us all round the island and we visited places that other tours miss out. There were plenty of drinks in the ice cooler and we also tried delicious fresh Antiguan pineapple.
Be careful, we asked a port worker for directions to our meeting place....they got it wrong. I phoned AJ to get the correct location. You meet at the street end of the port and not by the gate as soon as you get off the ship.
All in all, a brilliant day and we would definitely recommend booking a trip with AJ.

Our guide Steve was great. We saw everything advertised and then some. In between the stops Steve explained about the culture, history and traditions of Antigua. Well worth the money.

Steve was wonderful. He went about above and beyond. He took us all over Antigua. Showed us as much of the island as possible. Was on time, patient, friendly. I could go on and on. We will be back in February 2027 and will DEFINITELY be booking him again.

This tour is a perfect way to see a little bit of Antigua. A good 4-5 hours didn’t feel long or too short. Our driver/tour guy Andy was nice. He came to pick us up on time and the communication with him was good. He showed us around , we didn’t feel rush . The time went nice and smooth. I really recommend this tour to anyone going to Antigua for the first time .

Worst experience ever. Driver didn’t take us to all places in the itinerary in a timely manner. Everything we did was out of order to then tell us the last places were closed. Company doesn’t care about your experience. They just want your money. Don’t book!

We are very disappointed to read this review, as it does not reflect the reality of the 6 hours we spent together. Our priority is always a 5-star experience, which is why we allow our private guests to customize their itinerary.
During your tour, you explicitly requested to spend extra time at the beach on the south side so you could align your schedule with the Sunday evening party at Shirley Heights. We happily accommodated this schedule change for you. However, because you chose to extend your beach time, the gates to Nelson's Dockyard were already closed by the time we arrived.
To ensure you had a great day, we actually provided 6 full hours of private service for your 5-hour booking extra , waiting for you at the Sunday party and dropping you off safely at 7:30 PM. We respectfully declined your demand for a full refund following the tour because the service was fully rendered, and the missed stop was a direct result of your own requested delays and time management.
We always go above and beyond for our guests, and we wish you the best in your future travels.
Andy with AJs Taxi was a fantastic guide for our tour of Antigua! He is personable and fun and full of historical and current information about island. Our tour guide left us feeling incredibly uncomfortable. At one point, he pulled over to catcall and sexually harass women, telling them that one person on the tour had a lot of money to give them. He also spent a fair amount of time yelling at his wife and others on the phone in between stops. Very unprofessional and disturbing behavior.

You get to see a lot of the island in a short space of time but it's tiring as the road surfaces are poor and you are on and off the bus quite a lot. That said, the driver/guide Andy was excellent and did his best to show you the best bits of this beautiful island. Highlight for me was the ruined plantation Betty's Hope and Devil's Bridge, where the wild Atlantic sea forces it's way through limestone cliffs to give you a shower if you're not careful.

AJ picked me up at the cruise port, I had a little trouble finding him but he called me and directed me to the van. Small group, he had a cooler with drinks, gave great insight and history about the island. Made several stops for pictures and to explore the areas. There are two places you have to pay admission, 2 dollars and 15 dollars, at the time I was there, also food at the beach stop is on you. Got to see a lot of the island. I would recommend this tour

Five of us enjoyed a fab five hours touring around the island with AJ & learned so much about Antigua & it's history.
Our stops included Betty Hope, Devils Bridge, Fig Tree Drive, four different stops at Shirley Heights & Low Valley beach on the way back.

AJ's Taxi Antigua Adventures
AJ is great at traversing the island. Knowledgeable and not a bad singer either. Taxi was spacious, clean, and he had a cooler full of drinks. He was pretty flexible as well, picked us up from our resort, showed us some of the beaches and the historical areas. Always had a story about everywhere we went. Bring CASH for the admittance fee for the National Park, it was only $15 on our trip.

I waited for 30 minutes. Could not reach operator. Eventually another taxi drive that knew AJ reached him. They didn't know they needed to pick me up (I had an email with pick up directions). I got my money back, but nothing to make up for the hassle. Second time Viator booked excursion in Caribbean was no-show.

Being left behind and unable to reach us immediately is the exact opposite of the warm, welcoming island experience we pride ourselves on providing.
While it appears there was a severe communication breakdown between the booking platform's automated emails and our daily driver manifest, the responsibility ultimately falls on us to ensure every guest is accounted for. We are actively investigating this system disconnect with Viator to ensure pickup locations are properly synced going forward so that this never happens to another guest.
I understand that while a refund was processed, it does not make up for the hassle or give you back your precious vacation time. We deeply regret that we missed the opportunity to show you our beautiful island.

AJ pick us up from our Sandals resort very promptly as he said he would. He was very engaging and a delight to talk to. We went to several different sites. His air-conditioned van was very clean and he supplied cold drinks, chips, and even fresh Antigua pineapples! 🍍
He took many pictures of our group for us and was very knowledgeable about his island.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an afternoon to explore the island!!

This tour was billed as 4-5 hours and went just over 6 hours. It was also listed as private and it is not. We had 6 of us total which was fine, but private means you and your traveling people only! We did see Antigua island. Went to the sites as itinerary stated. There was no mention of a lunch stop in the itinerary description and at hour 5 on way back to our tour start ,we stopped at a beachfront dive for mediocre shrimp, chicken and bar food. It was expensive and service took almost an hour, thus making our tour just over 6 hours. If we were going to have a food stop it should have been after 2-2.5 hours. Also, not clear that you must pay a “donation” of $3 pp at Betty’s Hope and a mandatory $15 pp for Nelson’s Dockyard park. You need cash! Guide AJ was friendly and seemed to enjoy showing us his island. Tour overall was fine, but just need better description of what to expect and also need better communication for tour start location. AJ wanted to move time of start from 10 to 9 am and did communicate through App, but our cruise ship didn’t get clearance to debark until 9:30. We were told not to be late and so hurried to find him and directions were not clear. He agreed that he could make this info better.

Tour Privacy: I understand your frustration regarding the group size. It appears there was a technical discrepancy in how the "private" status was displayed on the platform. I am working with Viator immediately to ensure our listing clearly reflects when a tour is "Small Group" versus "Private" to prevent future confusion.
Duration & Lunch Stop: We aim to be flexible based on guest needs, but I hear you loud and clear—a surprise hour-long stop at the end of a long day is not ideal. I will be revising the itinerary description to explicitly mention the lunch option and ensure it happens earlier or remains strictly optional to respect our guests' time.
Fees & Communication: I appreciate your honesty regarding the entry fees at Betty’s Hope and Nelson’s Dockyard. I will update the "Exclusions" section of our booking page to make these cash requirements much more prominent. I am also currently redesigning our meeting point instructions (including a new branded sign) to make finding me at the port much less stressful.
I am happy to hear that despite these logistical hurdles, you found me friendly and enjoyed the sights of my home island. We take your "Show less" comments to heart as we strive to make this a 5-star experience for everyone.

AJ's Taxi Service is more than just a taxi service. When AJ arrived, the van (that could seat 12 or more people) was in great condition (unlike some tours I have taken). Then, we found out that my wife and I were the only ones booked that day. AJ had a very large group of customers the next day. He could have easily cancelled our booking. But, instead, we got a personalized visit of the sites on the tour. We could stay as short or as long as we wanted. We able to ask questions and learn about Antigua with ease seeing the ruins of a sugar plantation, a national park, a beach and many other sites. I highly recommend AJ's Taxi Service, if you want to get a good tour of Antigua.

This was a great excursion with a fantastic driver/guide, Alphie. He was at our pickup location 10 minutes before the scheduled time. He had a map and showed us where we were going for the 4.5 to 5-hour trip. He never rushed us and let us tell him when we were ready to proceed. However, he did keep us on schedule. He shared his knowledge about Antigua and St. John, with stories to help bring the culture of the island to life for us.

AJ was great and had lots of cold drinks for us. He drove us all around then after a few hours we went to a beach for lunch. Was a great way to see the island for the day. We were a little slow so the tour lasted longer than he said but he was patient. Thanks AJ.

We had a wonderful day with AJ.
Already after booking in Germany AJ had welcomed us and agreed the meeting point, shortly before he once again

On the day of the round trip, AJ picked us up in good spirits and on time in his modern bus with chilled drinks, and followed a round trip with wonderful destinations and photo stops. There he left us enough time for sightseeing , or he also conducted these himself with explanations.
