Fun activities in Koprulu Canyon

Overall we had a great day out with plenty of fun on this 3 in 1 tour. There is plenty of room for improvement though. It was great to get picked up right next to our accommodation. The driver arrived about 25 minutes late, which might not be unusual. No information about our activities was given during the 2-hour journey to Koprulu Canyon. We had several pick-ups along the way. We arrived at our destination, which is a very pretty location. It was a bit chaotic as several buses arrived at the same time. Initially, the coordination and communication of useful information was lacking. We ended up sat at the wrong table and had to ask several members of staff where to go until we found the right group (guides holding up signs would have helped). The buggying was enjoyable (I was driving – my son’s legs were too long to get behind the wheel!), and the zipline crosses Koprulu Canyon twice. Our favourite element of the package was the rafting. Caesar was our coxswain and sang and joked as we rowed down river. No experience needed. My main criticism of the package is that there are too many extras that, in my view, should have been included in the tour price. For example, whenever I’ve done organised water sports previously, booties and wetsuits are included in the cost. Other extras are the pancakes when the group takes a pit stop along the river, any drinks taken along the way and even a soft drink with lunch. There were two separate privateer photographers, which I think is appalling. This was not explained before or during the day. When the second photographer approached us before the rafting, I asked if this was included as I had already agreed to pay €15 for 45 photographs. He said it was. It wasn’t. I only received photographs from the buggying, not from the rafting. No one wants to feel like a cash cow when on holiday or constantly have to take out one’s wallet. All in all, the day cost €115 for two people. I would have much preferred to have paid €80-90 for everything in advance and if photographs must be extra, we should only have to deal with a single company who combine photos from the key activities for a reasonable price (€15-20). It would end up similar to what we actually paid, but the day would have been much more enjoyable and we would have had a better blend of snaps for posterity.

100% worth it! Great experience!

Overall it was so much fun, good dose of adrenaline and considering the price it was 100% worth it. It didn't start out quite right, as the driver was more than 30 minutes behind schedule. It would be useful to inform about any delays if they are longer than 10/15 minutes. We left Konakli at 8:20 a.m. and were at our destination at about 10 a.m. Here we leave all unnecessary things for the rest of the trip and take our vests and helmets. You can rent a foam for swimming, buy rafting shoes or waterproof cases on site. The first was a buggy ride. We didn't have any problems, but there was an ignition problem in 1 vehicle and a couple of times the engine died on the trip, but the operators quickly helped get back on track. It takes a lot of strength to turn the steering wheel, but the ride itself is incredibly fun. There is a photographer on site who takes photos of us on the tour for an additional fee. I advise you to take sunglasses, a bandana for your face and headgear, as you’ll be facing a lot of dust. Next up is rafting. It is essential to take water shoes with you. You can also buy them on site. Wear only a swimming suit, and leave your change of clothes + towel in the car. In general, I think that if your phone is water resistant and you have a zippered pocket in your swimsuit, then there is no need to have a case, but it is at your own risk. You will definitely get wet during the tour. There are 3 stops along the route. One for drinks, snacks (paid extra), the second for the zip-line and the third for lunch, which is included in the price. The only downside is that before rafting we waited an awfully long time as a group to go out. They had too many people and we had to wait before the smaller group arrived. Finally, I have an appeal to all foreign tourists. Given the very low cost of the tour, don't be so stingy when it comes to additional services, from which organizers make the most money. Let's face it. You won't get even a fraction of what you get here at this price in any European country. PS. You will be so exhausted yet so satisfied you made it at the end of the day.

Great Experience

A great day, buggies, zip lining and rafting were great fun and good value for money. Shout out to our rafting guide Simi who was a great laugh but kept everyone safe. Lunch was also included which was good too. Left all our belongings on the coach we travelled in which was totally safe. Only downside was the distance we had to travel to get from / to the destination which was just under 3 hours from Alanya but in my view well worth it as we had a fab day.

Absolutely insane day! Breath-taking views, non-stop laughter, ticket a couple things off the bucket list! Swimming in the rapids, ziplining through the mountainy hills and driving a buggy! Insane day!

The other side of Manavgat not near Alanya at all! Over 3hrs each way transfer with little kids not great.(that’s 6hrs of the 7hr tour just to get there and back). The seat in the minibus was completely detached and it kept falling off. Two 20min stops at the same place very over priced. Family of 5 - said buggy’s for 2pl, 3pl and 4pl - yet our teenage daughter had to share with an instructor as not enough buggy’s. The buggy I had with my son was old, it kept cutting out, when I tried to explain to them they just shouted very aggressively NO PROBLEM, I had to show them the issue myself but then they did nothing nothing, just told to keep starting it when it cuts out (every minute). Total time from Konakli where we stayed is 20mins to alanya - where this tour said it was? We got picked up at 07:45am and we got back at 19:15pm = 11.5hrs Our 6yr old daughter got a little scared so she and my wife didn’t do the full day. The zip line was Pretty poor tbh. The guy who took us rafting made a comment as we didn’t tip him. If we had a good service and experience we would have? Only one person who was running the tour spoke broken / very little English. The return journey back to our hotel was a long time. Waiting for other passengers to go to there room to get cash etc to pay extra for bits. This put another 30mins on our return. Some points may seem petty but added up was a waste of a day in Turkey for us and our experience. The positives: The driver was helpful. Lunch included. We would not have booked this tour if we knew it was like this. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this. It’s ok but needs more detail on the discription, and I can’t stress enough this is not in Alanya!
