Welcome to my house! Discover Yucatecan gastronomy from scratch, starting with traditional ingredients and techniques. As a chef originally from Yucatán, I will accompany you throughout the process so that you cook and understand how each ingredient is transformed. During the class you will learn and participate in: - Nixtamal and Recado: Grind your own nixtamal and recado with traditional tools and discover how Yucatecan flavors are built. - Dough and Tortillas: Prepare the dough from scratch, learn to roll and get your tortillas to puff up on the griddle. - Yucatecan Pibil: Prepare the marinade, work with banana leaves, and discover the secrets of traditional pibil. - Sauces: Prepare Xnipec and sauces with roasted ingredients in a molcajete. - Sweet Touch: Prepare crispy homemade churros. - Intimate experience: Cooking in my home, in a comfortable and private space, with a maximum of 4 people. In the end, we will enjoy together everything we prepared from scratch.

This hands-on cooking class takes place at Bonita, a local restaurant in Tulum, where guests learn to prepare traditional Mexican recipes in an authentic culinary setting. Participants make guacamole, salsas, ceviche, handmade tortillas, sopes, tacos, and margaritas while learning techniques used in everyday Mexican cooking. Our cooking class is not only about teaching how to cook mexican food; it is an inmersion of cultural culinary from Mèxico. Professional chefs teaching how to cook family ancient recipes in a fun, relaxing and intimate atmosphere in a wood Kitchen as our abuelitas use to; using local fresh ingredients, traditional equipment like metates, molcajetes, and mariconas (tortilla machine). We can personalize the dishes to your food restrictions and allergies. We will provide a cook book with the recipes you will be cooking and other traditional recipes for you to do whenever you get back home
