I would recommend Captain Dave's canal tours

We had one of Dave's friends as our captain, she was fantastic! Canal tour is a great way to see the city from the canals with the original buildings from the 1600s, learn so much about the city and relax at the same time. The reason I chose Captain Dave's was because it is a covered boat, which was necessary when we were on our tour as it was raining a little bit, and it has a bathroom on board.

Early Morning Canal Cruise is Amazing!

I want to start off by saying that this is one of my favorite things that I did as a first time visitor of Amsterdam and I highly recommend this early morning canal tour. The tour itself was not just very informative but also so calming. It really gives you a different perspective of the city. Our guide, Gisela was great, loved listening to her talk about the city's past and present! I would absolutely do this tour all over again!

We met the boat at the dock sites, it was exactly on time. The cover was on because of pending showers of rain, but open at the sides. The seating was comfortable and there were plates of nibbles and a good selection of wines to chose from. Our guide was a native of Amsterdam and gave us a complete history of the city and pointed out all the sights, and the quirks. Loved this trip and I highly recommend it. A small group made the experience better.

Best Canal Cruise EVERRRRR!!

Hands down one of THE BEST canal cruises I’ve been on. It was a beautiful night. Our guide was hilarious and high! 😜 You will not be disappointed!! Just know, they don’t sell or provide herbs on the boat. You have to bring your own. I can’t wait to come back and bring my friends.

Great relaxing cruise. Super friendly and accommodating crew. The captain was a great host and a very smooth operator. You could tell he has had time on the water. Cruise itinerary was cool, saw lots of neat stuff. Plenty of ash trays. Cold drinks served, light music between information and landmarks. Top notch would definitely do again and recommend.

Fun Canal Cruise

I have done many canal tours in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Harlem and this tour was a step above most. The guide was fun and personable and kept our wine glasses full. The cheese was yummy and the boat was a good combination of inside and outside (had nice cover from the sun). The only negative would be how loud the motor was, it interfered with our enjoyment of being on the canal. It would be nice if Amsterdam instituted the "only electric motors" requirement that Haarlem has. It makes a big difference. So until then, you will have to put up with a really loud motor.

Light, art, and great times!

This was a great trip through the various canals that house the Light Festival art installations. Both the captain and host were fantastic, knowledgeable, and attentive, especially with the free drinks! It's well worth it to see Amsterdam in a different light during one of the great times of the year. Plus, the snow was a bonus that made everything more beautiful!
