First Time in Edinburgh

It was a great tour! We learned a great deal of Scottish history, including details of the founding of the city. The closes off the Royal Mile hold secrets and treasures that are worth a peak. Walking where kings and queens once did always excites my soul! Be prepared for rain as you will get wet and make sure your shoes are comfortable and rainproof. Callum with Mercat Tours was very knowledgeable and excellent tour guide!

Wonderful "Secret Edinburgh" Tour

Our guide, Moray, was just wonderful. He was so friendly and fun and full of wonderful stories about the many unseen closes in Edinburgh along the Royal Mile. We learned so much history about the City of Edinburgh, and many of its famous citizens. It was very different from the usual city tour and my husband and I enjoyed our time with Moray so much. We would recommend this tour to everyone.

Marina was fantastic! We enjoyed her wisdom, antidotes, and delivery of Edinburgh and Scottish history. It was a very very crowded Saturday and she navigated the streets expertly. The tour actually ran a bit long but we didn’t mind at all, and ending at the castle where you are free to roam was perfect. Thank you!!

To avoid an uphill slog, start at Edinburgh Castle and walk downhill to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, then use public transport or a taxi to get back up.
