Beautiful Meteora
The bus ride of 4 hours each way is a little daunting, but Meteora itself is awe inspiring. There was no commentary at all during the 8 hrs there and back. When we arrived in Kalambaka, we picked up our guide Clement who was lovely and informative. We walked up at least 700 steps, definitely got the cardio today! I don’t remember it being quite as difficult 30+ years ago. Food was cafeteria style, got us in and out. Bathroom stops were clean and ok.

Amazing place to visit.
Meteora is an amazing place. Our guide Eleni gave us great information for Meteora and places we passed by. The coach was very comfortable. The place they took us for lunch was expensive but had a nice view.

Christos best guide ever!
Great e-bike ride through Meteora, including some more hidden gems! Included interesting background info and a lot of humor.

Meteor was the most beautiful place we have been!
We had an excellent private excursion to Meteora and would highly recommend it! Our driver, Aris, picked us up right at our hotel in Athens and was extremely personable and knowledgeable. The drive to Meteora is quite long, but Aris made the journey so enjoyable with his interesting conversations and knowledge of Greece. Meteora itself was absolutely breathtaking, and the entire day was one of the highlights of our trip to Greece. Thank you, Aris, for such a memorable experience!

Great tour - thank you!
A fantastic 4 day tour of the ancient sites of mainland Greece including Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi and Meteora. Ticked all the boxes. Ours was a small group (9-10) which worked extremely well. Excellent guide, good hotels with wide range of food options. Difficult to beat and highly recommended. 😀 Be aware that tours around the Acropolis in Athens are not part of this tour.

Meteora is such a special...
Meteora is such a special place and the experience was amazing. Our driver and guide Harry was friendly and informative throughout the tour! Our conversations not only covered Meteora but also all things related to Greece. It was a long day but totally worth it!

Meteora is worth experiencing
Meteora is sn amazing place to experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The lunch was delicious, but the dinner was disappointing. I had salad and the greens were heavy with dressing and very wilted. It was an otherwise wonderful day.

Seeing Meteora, Greece...
Seeing Meteora, Greece with a private guide was the best way to visit the area! Our guide was an expert of the monasteries and provided us with an amazing experience to see this gorgeous, once in a lifetime, excursion!

Long trip/long day but Meteora tour with Maria was awesome.
Only reason I am removing a star is it a vey long drive and very long day. 4+ hours to there and another 4+ to get back. Meteora was stunning, awe-inspiring, mind boggling and a lot of other adjectives!!! Our guide Maria was amazing. She should bottle up her energy and sell it! Her English was excellent and she made an amazing experience that much better.&

On your bike.
Great way to see meteora and visit some monasteries, so glad we did it this way and not by car or bus. You get to park your bike right at the front. Our guide Chris was awesome and alot of fun as well. Would highly recommend.

When to visit

Wear comfortable shoes, bring sunscreen and water, and prepare to walk---all but one of the monasteries is reached by steep steps.
Visitors to the monasteries must have their shoulders and knees covered, and wraps are provided at the entrance.
The best options for restaurants and cafés are in Kalampaka, so bring a packed lunch if you plan to spend the day.
Be sure to check the opening days and times of the monasteries in advance, as they vary.
Plan to visit two or three monasteries on a day tour---to visit all six, you will need a 2-day tour.
St. Stephen's Monastery (Agios Stephanos) is the only wheelchair-accessible monastery.
