Wonderful trip to see windmills, cheese farm, fishing village and more!
What an excellent tour! Elias did an amazing job showing us the windmills, clog factory, cheese farm and Volendam, plus provided general information about the area during our drive. He’s very knowledgeable and friendly and provided a relaxed atmosphere and his vehicle was very comfortable and clean. He also gave us plenty of time at each destination. We loved the tour and highly recommend it to others!

Very interesting and enjoyable tour
It was foggy when we arrived at the windmills, but enjoyed coffee and food in the quaint sweets shop. Miraculously the fog lifted and our walk around mills was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour of Edam, but the pace at Volendam and Marken too fast for elderly people. Our guide Xavier was very knowledgeable and humorous. He managed the group extremely well.

nice tour
nice driver and tour guide. but without Marken is better. more time you may need in Volendam, there was little time for both lunch and sightseeing.

Wonderful walking tour outside of the city!
This is a great tour to go see rural areas of Holland - the windmills, a cheese factory, the island of Marken. It is about a 30 minute bus ride outside of Amsterdam with 4 quaint stops. The third stop is where you will have about an hour to go enjoy a lunch in Volendam. Wear comfortable shoes and bring some water.

  • Volendam is a must-visit for history buffs in the Netherlands.

  • Don’t miss the local seafood; for a signature meal, order salmon with dill or a bouillabaisse-style seafood stew.

  • Much of Volendam is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

  • Winters in the Netherlands can be rainy and windy, so dress accordingly.

  • There's a tourist office on the corner of Juliana-Weg and Populierenlaan, and a tourist information stand near the waterfront.
