We had an incredible experience on the Charco Azul cave, waterfall, and river adventure from San Juan — easily one of the highlights of our Puerto Rico trip.
The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, from the lush hike to the crystal-clear blue pools and waterfall. It felt like a true hidden gem and a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.
What really made this experience stand out was our guide, Fabiola. She was outstanding — knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about what she does. She made everyone feel safe and comfortable while keeping the entire experience fun and engaging. Her energy, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile (including helping with photos and guiding us through tricky spots) truly made the trip worthwhile.
Highly recommend this tour — and if you get Fabiola as your guide, you’re in the best hands!

Alexis is from the area and he was the perfect guide. He told us the history and explained the botany of the flora and fauna in the caves and along the river.

I booked this activity for me and my 11-year old. Our tour only had one other person that joined so we were able to have a really personalized experience. Kenyon was an excellent guide and made sure to put safety first. We thoroughly enjoyed our day on the Charco Azul and highly recommend this tour. It was beautiful and so close to San Juan. There were some other groups out that day but it was not crowded or loud. And the water felt amazing!

Our tour was with John. He was very accommodating and gave us the best experience ever! After our tour he even provided local spots to go to. He went above and beyond. John is the local you’d want to tour PR with. If you’re a Karen, don’t bother John. We have definitely made a friend, and he made us fall in love with the culture and the island.

Incredible trip! Shmuel was amazing, and gave us so much insight on Puerto Rico, both the people and the nature. Definitely bring grippy water shoes, wear a bathing suit, bring a towel and change of clothes, and a waterproof phone case - you’ll want tons of pictures and videos!

Edwin was an excellent guide. Taught us a lot about the wildlife, was very fun and personable, and brought a tonne of experience to make sure we got the most out of it while staying safe.
Bring proper shoes and if you have a waterproof case for your phone bring that too.

great experience. was much more than we anticipated. Our guide (JO) was very informative, helpful and shared many of his experience going to the falls and caves. we had a great time.
It was a strenuous excursion, but JO our guide helped when we needed too as we are 68 years old but was able to complete the hike and jump off the cliff into the river.

We had such an amazing time with Jean, he made everyone feel so welcomed and he made sure everyone was safe. I would recommend this to anyone who comes to Puerto Rico. We are from the area and have never experienced anything like this. It was wonderful and adventurous tour and the guide was so friendly and helpful and he made sure everyone was safe and having fun. It was a fantastic adventure overall with lots of fun surprises along the way.

Wonderful experience today . Our guide Alexis was brilliant , he made the day so great explaining the nature around us. Alexis bought us cakes when we finished which we took to his grandmas house who made us coffee !
The whole area is worth a visit .

Amazing experience from start to finish. Alexis was our guide and he gave us a spectacular small group tour. This is a must do in Puerto Rico. The falls and hike were amazing (bring water shoes!) we jumped off cliffs and swam through caves. Everyone was so nice. Alexis gave us a scenic ride back and we stopped at a delicious local bakery and got quesitos and flan, then we got authentic cafe con leche and limber. All around best excursion

This tour was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Alexis went far above and beyond as a guide — from the car ride to the hike, he shared so much about Puerto Rico’s history, plants, wildlife, and culture with genuine passion and humor. You could tell how much he loves sharing his home and adventure with others. He even picked plants to show us unique flora, pointed out insects along the trail, bought us pastries from his favorite local spot afterward, and offered to take us for authentic mofongo at his favorite food truck.
The hike is moderate, so definitely wear water shoes with good traction. There is one required ~8-foot cliff jump to enter the river section, but it was much less scary than it sounds and actually really fun. The remaining jumps are optional, and you can instead hike or float through the river.
An unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of our trip!
