The worst i have ever been on did nothing what we expected wanted a tip lost me 3 minutes into the tour would never recommend this stay away was a girl not sure of her name but was awful

It was nice guide was ok. We walked very close the McDonalds Imperial and he never mentioned it. It was fine was the price.

This was a great overview of Porto with insider tips and information about some of the local sites and attractions. It was nice to have the tour offered in English but sometimes with the crowded streets, only occasional use of the microphone, and the thicker accent, it was difficult to understand all that was being shared. The tour guide was very engaging, funny and pleasant. I would do the tour again, but maybe not with younger kids, and try to stay closer to the guide to understand better what was being said.

From the beginning of setting up a pickup spot (since my accommodation wasn't a choice), this was a lovely experience. I'm glad the group was small, which isn't always something you get. Diana, our guide, was SUPER knowledgeable, friendly, and understanding of people's needs and time. We saw some very cool things in Braga and Guimaraes, both little towns that are meaningful to Portugal's history. You CAN get there solo on the train, but having a guide and a driver makes it easier and worth it to me. Definitely try the torta de Guimaraes pastry, invented by the then-local nuns.

About the free walking tour we reserved and paid a fee on May the 18th at 11 am. We are 100% dissapointed. The guide named Monica from Venezuela was a disaster. So much that we left after 10 minutes of the tour. We lost the chance to have a great opportunity for a great walking tour in one of the most important cities in Europe, and instead we met a buffon, a clown, a very NOT FUNNY guide, making silly jokes in every Word that came out of his mouth. We were a big group of maybe 25, we were all ther 10 minutes before 11 am, she waited until 11:05 am to start plus she lost the opportunity in that waiting time to ask us about our names and nationalities, instead she started 11:05 asking the questions, it was starting to rain and she was making not funny jokes. Then, she spend another 5 minutes talking about the TIPS because she doesn't get paid and she needed to Split her tips with 3 people. THAT WAS SO OBNOXIOUS, WE ALL KNOW HOW A FREE WALKING TOUR IS ABOUT. All of us had a look of frustration. She walked us into a plaza where loud music was playing and she complained that it was noisy, however she continued the tour right there instead of moving us to a quiter area. When the rain started, we where getting cover in the university coverer area, and despite that, she moved again outside with the noise and rain, after 5 minutes she walked us back again outside the university with the same not funny jokes, and we left. VIATOR, please, you need to check on the companies and guides you use. This one is called HI TOURS.It was awful.

We had a fantastic experience on this walking tour in Porto with Felipe. He was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic about the history of Portugal, which made the whole tour engaging and enjoyable.
We’ve travelled a lot and have had our fair share of guides (some of whom can lack energy)but Felipe was the complete opposite. He was a joy to be around and clearly passionate about what he does.
As a bonus, he followed up with an email full of helpful recommendations for the city, which we really appreciated. It didn’t feel like one of those tours where you’re being upsold at every turn just a well-paced, informative experience where the historical facts and key points were explained clearly.
Highly recommend this tour!

Walking for 2-2.30hrs - up.amd down hills so good, comfortable walking shoes recommended. Take water as no stops enroute.
Monica was lovely, vivacious & knowledgeable. Only criticism is too much information and didn't complete tour at the river front and Dom Luis Bridge as scheduled in our itinerary.

Monica is a very friendly knowledgeable guide .pointing out some of the highlights of Porto. The walk took about 2 and a half hours and it gave us a flavour of the city and understand where we might want to spend our time here.

The tour was canceled because my wife and I were the only one. The guide was there and very helpful but he said he can’t do the tour because he needs a minimum of 4 people. So, I would like a refund for the reservation. Thank you

Guide had a microphone which made it easier to hear what he was saying.
Very informative guide called Jorge, who knew lots about the history of Porto and all of its amazing landmarks.
The visit to the the ceramic shop was very interesting, as was the clothes shop where we saw internal architecture of the old town.
We finished by the river overlooking the Port warehouses.
A very full and interesting walk. Well worth doing the tour.

This is a great tour. Our Guide Monica made this so interesting but fun at the same time. We visited places that we may not have gone to ourselves so this was really worthwhile. The tour lasted around 3 hours and this was probably the right amount of time. We would absolutely recommend it especially with the very knowledgable and lovely Monica.

My sister and I participated in a walking tour of Porto with Monica in January 2026. Having spent some time in the hilly Lisbon, I was very concerned by the prospect of a 3-hour walking tour. Thankfully, the pace of our walk was very accommodating. Our relaxed pace was thanks to the fact that Porto is densely packed with history. Monica had a riveting story to tell about each street. She was friendly, outgoing, and skilled at recounting history in an engaging way. Monica's tour made us fall in love with the city and made parting with it bittersweet. My advice: Spend time in Porto. Learn about the city from Monica. You'll be happy that you did!

Monica was a very cheerful and enthusiastic guide who gave us plenty of fascinating information on the historical highlights of Porto. She gave us helpful tips on where to buy authentic Portuguese made goods so we avoid tourist traps and there was never a dull moment during the tour. It was Monica's 3rd anniversary of living in Porto but her knowledge and familiarity with so many people in the city made us feel like we were with a long time native resident. Highly recommended!
