This was our favorite excursion! Pancho was wonderful and made sure we were always taken care of. We arrived early to avoid crowds. We had shaded lounge chairs, lunch, unlimited drinks, boogie boards, and rode the banana boat. My kids bought tons of souvenirs at affordable prices. It was the perfect beach day.

After reading mixed reviews, I didn’t know what to expect. My mother and I really enjoyed the experience! All of the staff (restaurant, bar, ferry, etc) were all very welcoming. We enjoyed the food, and it was plenty to fill us up. We chose the banana boat ride and horse back riding. The horse back ride was quite short, just don’t the road and back (maybe 10 minutes total) although this was ok for us as the main attraction was the beach. We swam most of the day, the water was amazing over there compared to the beaches elsewhere. The drinks were good, and we were happy to get options other than just beer like some other tours had advertised. There were people selling things on the beach, but they set up a rope they cannot cross. People sell things on the beach all over Mazatlan, not sure why so many complained about this! We had a great time, would recommend to anyone wanting a day trip to nice beach :)

    Don't go.

    Douglas_G, Sep 2026
We had great communication prior to excursion. Everything was downhill from there. Waited 30 minutes past departure time without being told why. Tour operator's excuse didn't make sense, then had another group that arrived after us leave before us. The resort itself was run down. If you arrive at high tide, like we did, there is no beach to use. Food was barely passable. Included drinks were limited. We left two hours before we were scheduled to leave.

Hello Douglas, I will just copy and paste what I already replied to your friends on your 14 passenger group Tracy, Debra, Teresa and Diane: Hello Debra, we understand and apologize for the inconveniences on your tour with us. We did not show up late, we were actually waiting for you since 8:00am, and your group showed up at 8:05am, we appreciated this. We were suppose to leave the terminal at 8:30am, but a couple of families showed up at 8:42am, and we always provide a 15 minutes waiting time, this is why we started a little bit later thas scheduled. This families were not on your vehicle, (you were a 14 passenger group and we have 14 passengers vehicles) but we have to wait for all groups to board the catamaran to get to the island, and we usually take more than 1 transfer vehicle. At the beach restaurant, because of "Polo hurricane" tide was high, but beach activity options: banana boat ride and boogie board were available, ocean wasn't rough, just high tide. Because of the tide, the ladder to get on the catamarn at our usual place, was not really safe to board, this is why we had to go to another pier to board, we were looking for your safety. The restaurant at the beach always has a bar designated at the beach area for cruise ship passengers, because if high tide, we had to use the restaurant bar, but it was 45ft. From your tables, and to control the open bar, because not everyone at the restaurant has the open bar package, you have to go to the bar to get your drinks. Your package includes one full meal and has 5 different options: fish, chicken, burritos, quesadillas or a combo plate with a little bit of the above, and all come with rice, beans and salad, and your open bar includes mixed drinks with tequila, vodka and rum, and also beer is included. Part of your group did the carriage ride activity, and all of you enjoyed the open bar while at the island. We tried the best, as always, but we can not control the weather. We aplogize for not covering your expectations.

    Disappointing Adventure

No beach , limited bar and food Better bar and food for purchase . But staff were very nice. We were 45 minutes late due to other party being late which had nothing to do with our party of 14.

    Disappointment

    Teresa_L, Sep 2026
I do not think that this excursion was as described in the marketing materials. We had booked this excursion for a 930 departure that we were advised the day before that we needed to be there at 8:30. We arrived at 8:30 and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes because another person in our group was running late. Once we finally left They put us in a van and then they told us that we were going to go by boat, which I didn’t see in the marketing materials anywhere that we would be traveling by boat so we travel to by van and then we got on a boat it took us across the water and when we arrived on the other side, there was a truck with some seats that had been installed, and then they took us to the location when we got to the location. There was no beach as described there was a beach they told us, but because it was high tide you could not see the beach and then they arranged for our carriage, ride one of the excursions and I’m not sure how to describe, but it was not a carriage. It was a cart on the back of I don’t even know what it was, but there was a donkey pulling it. The gentleman driving was very nice, but it was pretty rundown and then when we returned to the location we asked to return to the ship early, which they did arrange, but then we had to get on the van back on the boat back on another van to get back to us our ship. The issue was everybody wanted a tip I mean the van driver, the boat driver, the tour guide the the van on the other side tall before we will arrive there. They wanted tips to service food and tips for her drink and then they wanted tips and again for our truck ride back to the boat then the boat ride back to land another tip and then another van and another tip so we were totally tipped out by the time we got back to the ship.

    Response from Host, Sep 2026

Hello Teresa, as we already replied to your friends Debra and Tracy, there was a high tide because of the "polo" hurricane, but the restaurant had a higher confortable area with tables to enjoy lunch and open bar, as you did. The carriage ride is pulled by a mule, and it's around the small town "stone island". As you can see on the activity description pictures, we have to do a 12 minute catamaran ride to get to the island, this is usually a fun part of the trip for most of our passengers. About gratitudes Teresa, I was personally the van diver from the catamaran pier to the ship terminal , and did not ask for a tip, I never do, neither Julio, who was your driver from the ship terminal to the catamaran pier. The catamaran crew has a tip jar, but just on the way back from the island, again, this is optional. We apologize for starting the tour late, we know it was a long wait for you because you showed up 30 minutes before start time, wich we appreciate, and last couple showed up 8:43, (arranged time was 8:30), and we always provide a 15 minute waiting time. You kept asking me why we had to wait for them, because your group was private on one vehicle, but we were all going on the same catamaran, this is why we had to wait, we did not want them left behind. We again apologize for not covering your expectations and not having a beach for you to enjoy, but sometimes weather changes and we can not control it. Beach activities such as banana boat ride and boogie board were still available, but I understand you were already displeased because of starting the tour 15 minutes after the arranged time.

Day started off with our group of 14 being told to be at the meeting spot by 8:30 a.m. we were there and did not head to the beach until well after 9. We were told we were waiting on a couple who was not put into our group even after being told that’s why we waiting. Very disorganized!! No one seemed to know what was going on. We stopped to be dropped off only to find it wasn’t correct, then taken up the road to another place where they tried to get us to buy tickets to get to the island. Beach area at the “resort” was non-existent, seating was limited to plastic tables and chairs,. Limited food and drink options were included with the ticket. We did not stay the full time scheduled, it was so bad. Don’t waste your time or money.

    Beach? Really?

    Tracy_G, Sep 2026
They were 30 minutes late, picking us up. When we got to the.” beach.” it was nasty. There was no beach because of high tide. The water stunk. The food was barely so so. Had to pay for chips and salsa at a Mexican food place. Drinks were so far. The facility could use a complete renovation. Very very disappointed do not recommend.

Talk about the perfect day! From the moment we booked, the communication was outstanding. Every question was answered quickly, the pickup instructions were detailed and easy to follow, and the entire staff was friendly, professional, and made us feel welcome. The boogie boarding was an incredible experience! The Pacific waves were huge, and crashing through them was unlike anything we've ever experienced. The banana boat ride was also an absolute blast and had our whole family laughing the entire time. As someone who has to eat gluten-free, I was so appreciative that they went above and beyond to accommodate me by preparing a special meal of plain chicken, rice, and corn tortillas. It made me feel truly taken care of. The drinks kept flowing, and the service never missed a beat. Our family had the most amazing experience from beginning to end. If you're looking for a fun, well-organized excursion with exceptional customer service, I can't recommend this company highly enough. We would book with them again in a heartbeat!

    Not all inclusive

    Hill_H, Apr 2026
If you are looking for all inclusive Run. Food had 3 options but could buy the real food. Bar was make shift rented bar with flat soda and cheap liquor options.

    Response from Host, Apr 2026

Hello Hill, our sincere apologies for the non great experience with us. You actually have 5 lunch options for lunch at the restaurant: 1. Breaded fish fillet, 2. Breaded Chicken, 3. Shredded beef burritos, 4.Quesadillas, 5. Combo plate (fish, chicken, quesadilla) All plates have rice, beans and salad. Our company's travelers have tables and loungers by the beach, a little far from the restaurant bar, this is why we accommodate a small bar for only cruise ship passengers, it might be smal, but it actually serves better mixed drinks and beer than the restaurant bar. Anything made with tequila, vodka amd rum is available. Margaritas, piña colada, tequila sunrise, daiquiri. We might not make a margarita with tequila Patrón, but it will not be the cheapest from the liquor store.

Ok. We got a text from the tour operator the night before, telling us we HAD to be there 30 minutes earlier than we had been told previously. They still left after the original time, and most of the others on the trip knew nothing sbout an earlier start time. However, once we finally got yo Stone Island, it was a good day, and we had fun. I just don't like that they manipulated us for their amusement.

    Perfect beach day!

    Last minute excursion

We booked the night before and glad we did. They bus you to the ferry over to Stone Island, then you take another bus ride to the beach. Got to choose from 4 activities, we did banana boat and boogie boards. Unlimited bar and a good lunch provided. The only annoying part was the locals trying to sell you stuff on the beach but they were polite when you said no. Make sure you bring some $1’s for tipping.

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

We appreciate your review Samantha, and are glad to hear that you had a great time with us at stone island. and yes, there are more than a couple of vendors at the island, but they are also polite when you are not interested. thank you for your time on writing a review

    Norwegian cruiser

    Miranda_B, Nov 2025
We booked this the night before we got to Mazatlan, we came in on a cruise ship. We were lucky to get a spot! We had fun, we have 2 boys ages 6&9 and they really enjoyed the beach and finding sea shells. The lunch was okay but very limited menu. Truly a Mexico experience! Our guides were great and made sure we were doing good the entire time. David is so kind and full of humor! Love him. Pancho was also great. They picked us up right at the cruise terminal and dropped us off. I got my hair braided right on the beach! A lot of panhandlers trying to see you stuff so be mindful of that, but all in all we had a great day there. Thank you guys!

    Would definitely come back

    Tinneke_R, Nov 2025
It was amazing!! Staff were amazing and not pushy. Would go again. The banana boats are a must, and the water was warm!

Great Beach Day, but not much else.

    Ernest_F, Nov 2025
Nice car trip and ferry ride from the cruise terminal lands you at a beach resort. Adequate food, plenty to drink. No extra costs for loungers and umbrellas. Vendors are plentiful, but keep a respectful distance. Water in October was warm and wonderful, but nothing to see if you want to snorkel. I mean nothing. If you want to relax and maybe stroll a couple of hundred yards in either direction, thats nice too. And that's it. The activities are non-existent. We signed up for the banana boat ride. Honestly, it took longer to put on our life vests and get seated than the actual ride itself. It was less than 5 minutes!! They took us out about 200 yards, turned around and bought us back. THATS IT! Straight out, and back. Thank you , come again. Everyone was flabbergasted over how short the ride it was. The next "activity" was a "carriage ride". Turns out you are in the back of a mule-drawn wagon that moves at WALKING SPEED through the neighborhood down the street. What do you see? Nothing. Houses where locals live. Past a small bodega. The driver spoke no english. Its like "here's a way to kill 15 minutes". I could have gotten out and walked faster than the mule. The "horseback riding" followed the same route; a slow paced guide driven plod thru a local residential neighborhood. I would recommend only if you want to sit and drink, and swim a little. No worthwhile snorkeling or activities. Advertising such is misleading.

We had a blast, the banana boat ride was the best part. The water was a bit rough and we were knocked off 4 times but that made it more fun. Banana boat ride at Stone island

For mexico its a great experience. Friendly people who all speak English. Boogie boards and banana boat rides were a blast for the kids (14,12,9)

    Amazing Time!

This excursion was perfect for my family and I as we were visiting Mazatlán for the day via cruise. We were picked up at the cruise port and taken to isla de la pierdas. My family chose the banana boat and horse back riding. The service was great and our server was very attentive. Thank you!

This was the best day of my vacation!

    Suzanne_M, May 2025
I went here by myself and it was perfect! I was traveling with a group of friends on a cruise ship to Mazadlan. On this day, some went golfing and others were tequila tasting. I just wanted to go to a beach and have a fun, relaxing day. This excursion was all that and more. Better than I expected. I was a little anxious as a solo traveler, but the day was amazing. There were 8 of us in a van - a few couples, all different ages, and some singles like me. There was even one local woman who took a day off to enjoy the day. The driver took us downtown and shared some history with us. We had time to tour the central square, visit a cathedral and grab some yummy pastries in a local bakery. Back in the van, we drove to the cliffs and got out to take some photos and watch cliff divers. We continued on our tour and landed at a marina where we took a boat to a private resort. We were invited to sit under palapas and given menus to select our lunch - drinks were included (not too strong, but tasty). The food was delicious! Unlike other Mexican beaches, there were no vendors strolling and peddling their wares. A few were outside the resort grounds, but not invasive at all. I relaxed and soaked up the sun. The water was perfect with wonderful waves to body surf. I don't think I've spent that much time in the water since I was a kid. Later, we were invited to select two activities. I chose a guided horse ride through the small village. It was short but sweet and just enough to get some local flavor and photos. The other activity was a banana boat ride where were were towed by a speed boat out and around for a quick thrill. Neither activiry was more than 15-30 minutes, but both were fun. I went back in the water, relaxed some more and had another margarita. When it was time to go, we got in the back of a pickup truck and were driven to the marina where we boarded a party boat. We danced and sang and shared stories about our day. After a quick trip, we were back at the cruise terminal and ready to continue the journey. When I compared stories with my friends, I definitely had the best outing that day!

    Nice beach break

    Susan_M, May 2025
Great excursion. We did this instead of excursion from cruise ship. Everything was good except the people trying to sell you things on the beach. Had to tell the same people no at least 5 times.

    Response from Host, May 2025

Susan, we appreciate the time you took for this review. About the vendors on the beach, restaurants are trying to enlarge the areas where vendors are not allowed, but government says they are trying to make a living, we understand your point of view, so the best to do is stay inside restaurant area where vendors don't have acces, but it's hard sometimes. Thank you

    Great beach

Great beach. Lobo was awesome! The whole experience was fantastic! My 2nd time and it did not disappoint.

Nice way to spend an afternoon!!!

    Evelyn_F, Apr 2025
Very enjoyable afternoon spent at Stone Island. The food was good. The banana boat ride was awesome!!! Transportation from and back to resort was on time. Tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Overall a pleasant experience.

Great choice for activity in Mazatlan

    Angelee_S, Apr 2025
Perfect day! Service was excellent from Port pickup to return. Kind people, not too crowded beach. This tour got us to the beach early and we got chaise lounges. Another tour arrived around 1 pm and there was not sufficient seating for them until we left around 3. Umbrellas provided, too. The food and drinks included were more than enough for us! The banana boat and boogie boards were by far the most popular options. I had read reviews before booking and I have to say I thought this was well worth the price and a great way to spend our day in port from a cruise. I did not observe any of the things mentioned in negative reviews. Book this!!

Vendors were really pushy. Put alot of emphasis on buying and drinking alcoholic beverages. Hirseback ridexwasxawful

    dan_t, Mar 2025
Not worth it. Horseback ride was too short. The guys in charge really wanted you to drink alcohol even at 10:30 in the morning

    Response from Host, Apr 2025

Hello Dan, thank you for your review. Your tour has open bar, this means that you can order Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with no charge, so we wouldn't put any emphasis on selling you any beverages, what we will do for sure, is offer you everything that is included on you package, we will respect if you don't want some of the Inclusions. Since you were one of the first ones getting to the restaurant, you got the lounge chairs closer to the water, also, closer to the line where the vendors can approach, you just had to move a few feet away from that line, so vendors could not reach you, there is a line they can not cross

    Ok day at the beach

    paul_o, Mar 2025
It was okay if you want to just spend time on the beach. Food was okay, we had open bar and a choice of 4 entrees. The optional activities didn’t last very long, maybe about 20 mins each.

    Beachy Dinero

    Patrick_P, Feb 2025
It's mainly a trip to another beach with 4 activities (horseback riding, trailer ride, boogie board and banana boat ride) which all last under 20 minutes. Like most all inclusives in Mazatlan, they still nickel and dime you constantly. You pick 2 of the 4. Basic lunch is served. Better food and drinks cost more. The staff are warm and welcoming.
