What an amazing day! My guide, Jose picked me up early!!! and asked me to pick one of three appetizers and one of three entrees. I chose cerviche and a beef dish. On the way to the market, I got to ask all sorts of questions about life in Peru. The market was great- Jose showed me all sorts of fruit and vegetables that I'd never see before. As we walked, looked and chatted, our chef, Nindi went around and bought the ingredients for our lunch. At the kitchen, Jose and I chopped and and talked while Nindi supervised. All the fruits we'd seen in the market were there for me to taste. Great meal, great conversation. After a leisurely lunch, they introduced me to Filippe who was my guide for the walking tour. Again, a wonderful afternoon full of all sorts of interesting sights, information and conversation. We pretty much covered all of old Lima, stopped for a coffee when we were ready for a rest. I learned about architecture, history, religious ceremonies and a lot more that I haven't yet digested. All together a wonderful way to get a "taste" of Lima in a short time. I especially liked Haku Tours. They are a non-profit tour company which gives back to their community with money and time. Their employees spend time each month working with soup kitchens, schools, etc. Impressive organization.

This tour was seriously one of the best and most enjoyable during the whole of our 16 night cruise. Besides being fun and informative the guide and hosts took extremely good care of us and made certain every person in our family was catered for and enjoyed themselves. Highly recommended and not to be missed.
